Who makes your rifle? I'm mighty tempted to get a Marlin in .44 magnum.
Mine is a Henry Big Boy. It's a fun and comfortable shoot, very accurate too, and definitely caught some eyes at the range.

My only real complaint with it is that, unlike every other gun I've bought, the instruction manual never actually explained how to take it apart for cleaning and lubing, instead simply stating to, and I quote: "Use a brand name cleaning kit and follow the manufacturer's instructions." Bitch, I'm reading the manufacturer's instructions!

The solution, that it of course does not tell you, is that you open the lever about half-way and unscrew the screw where it rotates on the receiver, all while making sure the ejector spring doesn't get lost when you take the bolt out, because that thing is only being held in by a tiny hole in the receiver and pressure from the bolt. It was a lot of fun having some random part fall out of your gun and not knowing what it is or how to put it back because your instruction booklet for taking apart your gun is fucking useless.

Funny how Duncan Lemp didn't make it on there, huh? Can you take your squealing about how traitors who want me replaced with seventy IQ mud demons have rights to somewhere else, please? This is for discussing firearms, not for whining about your shitskin loving cult getting what it deserves. Personally, I want all your pet invader darkies and their sycophants to get the same, so whine somewhere else.
Montgomery County police department will still not honor FOIA requests for the bodycam footage because "footage shows SWAT tactics."

Should of just sent two patrol cars to arrest him and confiscate the rifle, but a 3 AM SWAT raid was considered the better option. Still pisses me off years later.

My daily carry is Glock 19 with 15+1 in the gun and 2 17 round spares.

I used to carry two guns daily. Glock 34 with a Glock 26 back up.

I’ve even open carried (along with dozens of others) in front of a sitting senators office for a protest with no ID and no permit! Absolute madness!

I bet you didn't fight with and obstruct the police though...

No.

But I was pulled over speeding once and the cop had me step out of the car to disarm me.

He had me turn around and face the vehicle and suddenly grabbed both my thumbs to to hold them together in one hand while disarming me and I reflexively turned hard like what the fuck is happening and fortunately he didn’t freak out. He then calmly said “you aren’t under arrest I’m just securing your firearms”….and I relaxed. This was an instinctual response from me that some people would seem to be ok with me getting shot over.

I’ve also opened the door to my office to have an M4 pointed in my face because the silent alarm was triggered accidentally and again I reflexively jumped back.

Not long after 9/11 I also got pulled out of an RV at gun point when we were broken down on the side of the road and the rental company told the cops we were terrorists because we had a ton of guns going to an industry event.

In all of these cases I’m glad the cops were professional, weren’t trigger happy, and weren’t looking to escalate things because they were aggro about shit.

I have a question for the thread, what do you consider to be the prize of your collection?
For me it'd be my M-Guns customized 1911 (when I get it back in a month), my SVI 2011 (since you can't order those to your specs anymore), or my S&W 29-2. That last one is arguable given that I fucked the resale value big time by changing some stuff on it.
.40 cal is the sensible middle ground, which is why despite all the pissing and moaning about ".40 Short & weak" the .40S&W was a great idea, and actually closer to the original 10mm concept than modern 10mm.
That whole "short & weak" thing makes me laugh. It's a pistol cartridge. They're all short and weak given the compromises required.
I mean, that's pretty much what I carry every day. Staccato P with the 17rnd flush fit magazine to reduce printing, one in the chamber for a total of 18rnds in the weapon itself, plus two 20rnd magazines in a magazine carrier on my belt. My Staccato even has an optic and threaded barrel. I guess all I want is to start shit with federal agents and look for trouble, right?

Seriously, what you wrote is fucking retarded and you should feel retarded.
You guys that are carrying two mags, what are you carrying them in? I'll carry two mags if I'm running my 10mm 1911, and those go in a Milt Sparks D-4C. If it's a double stack I'm only carrying one extra.

Stainless steel SAO Jehrico 941 with wood grips. No I have not seen Cowboy Beebop yet and anime watching is pretty low on the list of priorities.. Once the layaway clears on the 27th I can pick it up. As for a gun I currently have, I do like the SIG P250 I got a while back.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume you don’t run around with it looking to pick fights with federal law enforcement. Context matters severely. Don’t act like some Daniel Larson tier autist just because your favorite hobby is slightly involved.

Personally, I think protesting is for faggots and avoid anywhere I think I’d need 60+ rds of ammo as a civilian.

My dad thought it was the coolest thing when he bought it. I didn't really get it at the time but now I do think it's pretty damn cool. It's set up similarly to this one, just with a bipod and an aimpoint, and the VFG is shorter and has the switch for the light ziptied to it. I have no idea how to make it usable though. I could drop the bipod but the thing weighs like 18 pounds as it's currently set up and the bipod is maybe a pound, admittedly it's a pound at the point that makes it feel heaviest but that full length quadrail is just monstrous. I've tried finding an m-lok alternative because I know that would shed a ton of weight but haven't had any luck

I could just slap the guts in a modern tacticool M14 chassis but that's not nearly as cool imo

PSA: hold yourself to a better standard while carrying. They probably told you this in your CCW permit class, but it seems some of you ignored it. LE are generally poorly trained retards who will kill you and get away with it. Avoid getting in their way or attracting their attention, especially when they're hopped up on being doxed and threatened. "Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6" goes two ways, so if you do get grabbed by LE don't resist them, just take the L and go to jail nicely. And for fuck's sake definitely don't insert yourself into a confrontation between a cop and some other retard while you have a gun on you.

I expect law enforcement to be more professional than this,

In the words of Dr House: "You're an idiot."

You should expect LEOs to be poorly trained power tripping assholes and act accordingly.

Something I've found quite amusing is how a lot of the stuff that Navy Arms brought in a while ago has been sold off to distributors. Who would have guessed at you couldn't easily get $1k+ for an obscure single stack 9mm handgun or No. 4 enfield in 2026. Once again, the lesson that rare=/=valuable must be taught.
It does make me wonder how much they paid for it all, including the FRF2 rifles. I'm curious if they're trying to move stagnant inventory, or if they're trying to stir up cash to pay off debts.

I too wonder what they paid for them. I'm not well versed in what may or may not make a MAC 50 more valuable than say, a Star, though. Surely there aren't that many boomer francophiles who are trying to complete their French military weapons collections and want to spend that kind of cash on a kind of ugly looking postwar sidearm.

18lbs? Though M1As always had the same drawbacks and among them was weight, I'm pretty sure a full length USGI style M1A is under 12lbs loaded. 18lbs from a smaller variant means there's a lot of heavy stuff attached.

Most of his stuff gets sold on to distributors. Val is an importer first and foremost.

They made far fewer of them, and of those fewer, almost none were in the USA prior to thay Navy Arms batch. The only ones prior were essentially vietnam bringbacks.

True, but its been quite a while since they brough all that stuff in, and this is only the second time in my memory that they've sold stuff off to distributors

Can’t talk to the other stuff but I would bet that the market for French sniper rifles was pretty much filled with the FRF-1 imports. I would bet money that the prices will drop 50% or more over the next few years. For the other stuff they are definitely selling them off at a wholesale cost to other dealers. I know they keep some back and sell them through the Old West Scrounger store.

My prewar 1911A1. I'm not sure if it's the most valuable, and it certainly isn't the most rare, but it's pretty and I am a sucker for classic blued finishes. My K31/42 is a close second.

Rarity does not necessarily mean value, hence my comment of surely there aren't that many francophiles looking for a fairly obscure postwar pistol. On the other end of the spectrum are M1 Garands, which are common even today (you'll see them at pretty much every gun store and show) and crazy expensive because everyone wants one.
