People are not allowed to walk up to law enforcement and physically contact them, or interfere with their operations. Those are the crimes of battery, and obstruction. You could argue that filming the police was him protesting (I guess, if you're a faggot), but that immediately went out the window when he made contact. And when it was clear that he was getting arrested by 5 officers, literally the only thing he was allowed to do was go limp, get arrested, and fight it later in court if he wanted to.
Doing all of this while armed just magnifies the stupidity. Everyone has a right to bear arms, but they don't all have the discipline, humility, and perspective to do so.
If they did, then they probably wouldn't be protesting for illegals to stay in the country.

Were Pretti alive to face charges of assault on law enforcement, the defense would be that ICE’s initial use of force was unlawful and outside the scope of their duties, and that shielding those women was not assault on an officer as a result. I think it is probable he would be acquitted.
But no, he’s dead because minimally trained unprofessional clowns unnecessarily escalated the situation start to finish because they were angry and shot a disarmed man.
Can they do all this legally? Maybe, probably even. Does it also cause outrage in the public? Absolutely.
Whatever is going on in MN right now isn’t even about immigration at this point. The public is angry that the state killed 2 American citizens in less than 2 weeks. The first one looked bad to the average American. The second one looks even worse. And it made people in the administration adopt antigun talking points immediately alienating a chunk of the base. Going on television and calling Pretti a terrorist that wanted to kill cops is clearly an absolute lie.
People arguing online blaming people for their own deaths at the hands of cops is also a losing position politically. You do not bring people to your side arguing in this way. Depraved indifference for the lives of your fellow man doesn’t win people over be that for Charlie Kirk or Alex Pretti. It grosses people out.
Unless you want to lose politically and/or make things worse defending this at all is the wrong call.

With how this has come up without being a campaign issue, this is clearly an astroturfed effort from Bloomberg's Everytown USA and Mom's Demand Action and it's no coincidence it's happening in a state bordering Washington DC. Once all those gun laws pass, Virginia will be just as restrictive as Hawaii. Watch Maryland tighten their laws next.

Anyways, speaking of asserting things until they come true, apparently the ATF filed a statement of interest on the Rare Breed v Hoffman patent infringement case. They appear to basically be repeatedly implying that FRTs actually are machine guns, and therefore regulatable by ATF.
"The government, through the ATF, has a strong interest in promoting the safe use of firearms by the public, and in this particular case, in discouraging unregulated manufacture of forced reset triggers that allegedly infringe Rare Breed's patents."
So, more or less confirming what we already suspected: Rare Breed is a cutout for the ATF to pursue de facto regulation on their behalf.

Easy, the guy who died is an enemy to both the constitution and the united states, as he was impeding federal operations to remove illegals who are actively harming our country. Fuck him and everyone that thinks like him, they only believe in the constitution when they can twist it to their own ends to take my own rights and freedoms away. They literally only believe in the 2A to shoot cops, so when one of them goes down fighting while armed, I'm just going to shrug and say that he deserved it, because he did. I don’t like the administrations messaging surrounding this event either. But the reason not very many 2A advocates are getting worked up over this is because it doesn’t pass the common sense test. If I said “hey I’m going to a protest and I’m not afraid to go hands on with Federal law enforcement” would anyone here tell me that’s a good idea? No of course not. The fact that he had a gun on him is almost irrelevant. Unarmed, if things get out of control he’s already looking at years behind bars in a federal prison. Choosing to go hand to hand while armed is beyond retarded.
