You're not alone there. There are really only a few posters who regularly post pictures of their guns here. I haven't for similar reasons, i.e. my range is quite recognizable. I've previously posted some of them on /k/ and the images may still pop up from time to time, I am not Burt or lifesizepotato, my family and friends are enough when it comes to seeing my collection
I just don't bother unless it's something really cool (for me that's rare)
Re. EXIF data, can't you still strip it in windows by copying the image and pasting it as a new file?
Or take a screenshot
Removing EXIF is trivial, you can do it with all kinds of software.

Yep since I'm a disgusting mobile-fag I screenshot
Colt can make a revolver finished to a much higher degree in the US so its not impossible that Chiappa could finish the Rhino to better standards especially when you consider how cheaper Italian labor is. It's pure laziness and it shows in all Chiappa products.

As for design, its just a continuation of Mataeba revolvers like the 2006M but not as cool. I think the fact they tried to shoehorn it into tactical and hunting roles instead of just CCW with the snub nose variant and target shooting with the long barrel variants.
you'd have ended up with a streamlined 2006M. no lightening cuts because weight is better for competition. no pic rail (maybe pre-drilled for a RDS under the rear sight).
you can see that the 2006M has the seam too but it is blended in much more betterer:

I really wish Spuhr or Korth or Janz would pick up the mateaba. They'd do it justice. charge 4 or 5k for it.
Mmmm new build Mateaba sounds amazing

I might be willing to give an el-cheapo CVLife dot a try if they didn't plaster their dollar-store BB-gun logo so prominently on everything.
Easy solution. Get a tasteful vinyl sticker or two and an x-acto knife and cover it up.

....you know, I bet there would absolutely be a market for "gun wraps", like the ones for cars except you can do it for your EOTech or whatever. I'd be surprised if it doesn't exist already.

I wish there was an easy way to just remove those brandings. I don't know how those labels are applied but they sure don't want them removed. Unity is another one. It's a 3-slot riser Unity, a pic rail on a pic rail, why does your logo need to be on it at all much less so big?

It depends on the revolver for me. On some, I can definitely feel a difference, especially with the newer style Hogue grips with the finger grooves. I find that those reduce recoil a tad, are more comfortable, and offer better control over the revolver. If I were carrying a magnum wheelgun or shooting one a lot those are probably what I'd have on it. However, I will only have either the original wood grips or a nice set of custom wood, bone, or ivory grips on vintage revolvers like my no-dash Model 57. Just personal preference.

Pachmayr soft polyurethane grips, my friend. They make them with wood inserts too. They're fairly firm but have a little give to them, much better than hogue style rubber grips

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read all the pages since Alex Pretti's death and I don't know much about firearms. Can someone explain what's going on here? It looks like it has a custom slide and the barrel is at a weird angle. Is it broken?

The barrel is tilted because the slide is to the rear, extremely common recoil design on most modern guns.
It is just a just a different colored slide and frame, common design styling.

Their is nothing "custom" about the gun from what I know, just a higher end factory model.
But it might have some aftermarket parts. Not a sigger so I can't say myself

It's not custom but it's one of the souped up models of the 320, alloy frame, flared magwell, flat trigger, threaded barrel and probably came with that optic that one probably went for between fifteen hundred to two grand.

Ha. I have a few copies of that same sticker on some random shit like coolers and ammo cans. Also, you can use a sugar cube as a mild abrasive to remove most of those painted logos over anodized surfaces.

I'd be willing to try one of those dots on something like a .22, but Holosuns are cheap enough that it's not that much of a stretch to just get something that is much more likely to not be complete shit.

This is a P320 barrel, it pivots on the rounded part of that dangly bit on the bottom when the slide goes back. It's called a tilting barrel and it absorbs some of the recoil of the bullet. Super common in pistol designs. Glocks, 1911s, pretty much any semi-auto pistol a normie could name uses it outside of Beretta 92s I think. I haven't shot/handled a P320 but his is cut for optics (and has an optic) and I think it has suppressor height sights which is a popular upgrade for pistols with optics so you can cowitness your dot and the physical sights.

Overall not an especially special pistol. You probably couldn't just go to a gunstore and buy one exactly like it but you could order it from their custom shop and it'd show up pretty quick. The custom shop just lets you play dressup with your pistol, basically. You can pick from whatever slightly-different-than-standard parts they offer, but it's not a truly custom gun where you're hiring a gunsmith to polish/balance/handfit everything.

It’s a 320 with the slide locked to the rear. Nothing exciting about it.

Barrel is tilted because it is part of the design. The lug on the barrel keeps the gun in battery and the barrel tilts during the firing sequence to unlock the barrel from the slide so it can cycle. A lot of pistols operate this way.

The chiappa rhino has a unique design and it fucking works so criticism really only goes so far but i really don't like it. It's made too cheaply to be a fancy gun and it's not fancy enough to be an expensive gun. Its made up of pieces dovetailed together and the seam between the barrel and the frame, and the frame and the back of the cylinder, are really rough. There's a very conspicuous gas relief cut at the bottom of the cylinder.

These aren't really a big deal for a gun that functions but when the gun costs like $1200 you do kind of wonder what you're paying for. It doesn't have a top rail long enough to put a hunting scope on it because they used the same base frame for all models of their gun. IDK, there's no reason it shouldn't just be the best revolver available on the market because they're the first people to bother doing revolver R&D in like forty years but instead it's just kind of a gimmick gun
The 30ds doesn't have the seam.

It's a lot of fun. Someone else mentioned tweaks Chiappa made across generations. I didn't know there were generations, how do you tell which is which? That one is from 2019.

On the Pretti situation…

Can we get an update on if kicking fed vehicles while clearly carrying a firearm is a peaceful protest?

IMG_5203.jpeg

I was assured if they see you with a gun while protesting these untrained guys are just looking to kill and will do so? Are all our rights compromised by unhinged feds acting unlawfully?

Can I get a Sinisral update on this?
