I wonder how much of a shitshow of a legal battle one could get into the ATF with by selling and marketing reloadable "threaded plug" (such as above) captive piston ammunition (which the ATF determines to be a silencer) for a proprietary firearm because I would say there would be a 50% chance that ATF would chimp out at people reloading ("repairing") them but that would mean the ATF would need to seriously argue in court that bullets are "silencer parts"

$0 tax stamps make this viable economically
I want the most silent setup possible nightstand gun use badly, something with expensive captive piston ammo would be pretty cool for that.

Honestly to me it wasn't any louder than the guy on the other end's 45, but I'm still wanting to pick up a pair of the electronic muffs.
What kind of electronic muffs? Most are shit, 26-28dB NRR and are not suited for range use especially indoors, only for hunting and LARP. Double up with something that has NRR of 30dB or more and ear plugs, at the range, especially shooting rifles.

I know I'm gay and have no training or credentials etc etc but why is no one using the side mount on ak's anymore? Is it the nightvision optics or something? I know some (mostly just lemon grenade) had foibles about the rail moving and losing zero due to receiver flex on stamped guns, and possibly losing zero when removing the optic and or mount for cleaning but I've never had an issue? I've been using an old ass SAR(no redeem)-1 since 2008 for deer hunting and never had an issue with the side mount. Now I am not running 2k rounds through it weekly like everyone apparently needs to do or else you can't hit anything at the 50m 2 gun competition but over the years of blasting at trash I have put roughly 10k cheapo steel case wolf rounds through it and other than the zero shifting a tad with my failing and aging eyes it has stayed completely zero'd the entire time. Looking around online for a couple seconds seems to confirm that the side mount is g2g as long as its installed correctly, but I don't have much experience beyond a sample size of 3 imported vampire country aks. Feels almost like its coming from the continued trend of autistic tier detail niggling I've been noticing in the gun "sektor" post covid.

The Soviet style side optics mount is not an ideal solution to mounting optics, especially in the modern day. There are far superior options for mounting modern optics, even for the Kalashnikov, that are more solid, quicker, more durable, and have a better repeat zero when removed. It's kind of like saying "Why does no one use top-mounted pan feed systems like the Lewis Gun anymore?" It's just an obsolete way of doing the job, and there are better options now.

NYC far worse. nerf guns are illegal there. that whole state also inadvertently banned PGO shotguns & muzzleloading muskets by redefining the definitions of shotguns and firearms yet does not enforce against either of them so even the most diehard fudd types are in a grey area of being technical felons at the whims of whether the PD wants to be assholes and ruin someones life that day or not. state AWBs are a fucking scourge onto humanity because they pass these laws and let nobody else know which inevitably leads to stupid shit like 90 year old women going to prison for having their husband's old rusted out .32 S&W in their nightdrawer. yet obviously the people out there committing real crimes doing deranged shit dont give a fuck. washington state is a shithole too and virginia is about to join the fun. its fucked up but the places in Europe with good gun laws are better in that regard than places here with shitty ones and the people that do live in states with good firearms laws dont give a fuck because of "got mine" syndrome.

NYC really is America’s UK when it comes to weapons laws.

I would have picked up an RS Regulate mount to use with mine, but the Romanian height-specific ones (hell - all of them, really) were perpetually out of stock for months while I was in the market. I opted for the sight leaf mount since it was actually in stock and haven't looked back.

Huh, good to know. I've been using using Peltor sport muffs, they claim "30 db NRR" might just keep using them instead.

I've tried the beryl mounts and having to swap rear trunnions and drill into the sight block made them much more of a pain than the side rail that typically comes pre-installed on import rifles. Which ones have you been seeing that work better?

Those are the ones that replace the rear iron sight right? I've tried one and it worked well but didn't leave much room to put anything on it outside some small red dots. Maybe I just got lucky with my old ass posp scope as it is integrated into the mount, and I'm fine with fixed 4x for basically everything.

I was referring more to the various systems like the ZenitCo handguard that also has the cantilevered optic rail over the dust cover. If you're looking for something more traditional and don't want a "tacti-kewl" Kalashnikov, then I'm not sure how to help you.

Ah, makes sense. I suppose I will just stay with the side mount then as I do keep the rifle stock outside putting an optic and maybe a flashlight on it.

Yeah - I went with a T1 footprint Attero Bravo mount, since all I was putting on it was a Holosun microdot. Super fast (and reversible) install, holds zero and integrates a lower 1/3 rear notch. Not super useful if you're looking to put a larger optic on, but if you're just wanting to stick a red dot or a small prism on, they're awesome (and inexpensive).

Do you still have to submit your social media to the NYPD to get a concealed carry license or was that struck down?
A federal appeals court struck down that provision a couple years ago thankfully. And that law applied to the entire state, not just NYC because they can't just keep the retarded laws contained to the hive city that voted for them en masse.

fellas, i started looking up some of those neat little fiber heat resistant covers you put on a suppressor and i got annoyed at some of the 175+ price tags going on. it's a metal condom and an oven mitt. i don't want to get some chinkshit, but if it means i can unscrew the can while it's nice and hot i might get one of the bullshit ones off amazon.
All of them are trash. They melt or catch on fire with even moderate firing schedules and keep the heat in the can which just makes your gun heat up more.
one of those Ryker grips
My brother in Christ, you bought one of these unironically?

Minor difficulty with removing/attaching the dust cover, traditional folding stocks are blocked by the mount and most notably it's difficult to align the optic with the barrel even with "high quality" mounts and as we all know if something isn't perfectly parallel it will cause autists to scream.
I think its stupid to expect a 1940s machine gun built with 1930s tech to live up to modern standards.

Caylee Can update. Wish we could place bets on when suppressors are actually going to come out lol. I think a lot of people for 200$ are just going to print their own? FTN:5.1 22s work pretty well, I'm waiting on my stamp to say for sure though. Don't know how much of a market these will have unless they work on 5.7 or something or other pissin hot 22s.

Drawing/engraving a bunch of dicks is a very man thing to do...

I wonder if most of these guns that are being smuggled into Europe are from the US or Ukraine

If I were to guess those are from Ukraine. War Noir has other tweets about those guns and you can see that they are select fire. So that most likely means government contracts and the most likely subject is Ukraine.

If they were just your typical AR-15s, then the potential source is smuggled from US. Remember how one of the Charlie Hebdo attackers used an AR-15 purchased from Florida and then having disappeared. It is not just Yugoslavia that is the big source of illegal firearms in Europe, smuggling routes go both ways. Turkey could also be a source, but I think War Noir would recognise Turkish AR from Colt AR.

Moved up at work and we got a tidy bonus this year so I decided to treat myself to a new toy. Last revolver I had years ago was a German pot metal piece of shit, so I wanted something nicer this time...

Got a sweet deal on a Colt Lawman.
I'll show it off once I've got it in hand, should be in my possession soon. Very excited to have a genuine prancing pony pistol for the first time in my life.
