Mega Rad Gun Thread

they are Argentinian not Brazilian.

I'm not up to date on South American manufacturers, I just figured today Bersa would be a Taurus subsidiary. I was too caught on the manual's wonky English that I didn't notice the warranty service address was in Argentina.

"Yes saar the pistol barrel has scratching, it is six rifling saar!"

I don't know who this gun is for.

In the initial discussion it was offered as one of the few budget options, if one wants a new hammer-operated, metal frame SA/DA pistol in 9mm these days. Of course if you risk buying shit quality like this, it's better to hunt for a mint condition piece from several decades ago. You'll likely get a better finish too.

The single stack 380 version of the TPR is basically just an updated version of the Bersa Thunder 380 with a few small changes. It's basically the same size and it takes thunder mags, but they added a small pic rail on the front for a light. As well as flatented the top of the slide for what I assume would be easier optics mounting on the rear Dove tail. I believe all the internals are basically the same because the owners manual they sent me was from the thunder series. If you like the Thunder 380 and want to mount a light and optics I'd recommend it. I picked one up from P.S.A. on sale for only $200 bucks. I havent put a ton of rounds through it but I havent had it fail on me yet either. Definitely oil your Bersa before you shoot it though. Mine was BONE DRY when it arrived to me.

Brought a somewhat eclectic collection to the range today. Showed up with the Dissent, my CZ P-09 with the Hux can on it, the Remington 1875 replica with .38s and .357s, the Beretta 84 and my Mark IV.

I think I may have convinced a few people that cans and pistol optics are dope as shit - they were fans after trying them out, though I have to say that if the Hux Flow9K is a low backpressure can, I don't even want to know what shooting a handgun with a standard can is like, because that gun was spitty as fuck.

Also, people dig cowboy guns.

Life hack - don’t buy guns from countries you can’t drink the water.
You can drink the water here nigger.

Finish is the biggest pain with Bersa guns, they're VERY reliable firearms but the "pavonado" (bluing) they do is pretty bad at fighting off the rust as seen with my own I posted in this thread a while back, turns out that Bersa makes all of their stainless options specifically as their antitrust models instead of upgrading their regular finish.

I'm about 2k rounds in my lil .380 Thunder X and it's only jams have been with FTF with some commercial reloads that have notoriously heavy primers here, though I've even had the same issue (though less frequently) with my Glock 19. It's also shockingly accurate but that's a fixed barrel thing.
but they added a small pic rail on the front for a light.
Does it not bother you that it's a standard ass Thunder frame and the pic rail is just literally bolted on plastic from the replacement grips? They sell the entire grip unit here in Arg, I'm kinda ehh on it since it looks a bit cursed imo.

This fucking guy, each email gets more absurd than the last and that's the only reason I'm willingly still getting them.

Ive seen Thunders in Pawnshops rustier than an F-150 parked on a pile of salt in the middle of a Midwestern winter. It was a shame too because it had some nice wood furniture on it. It was only 50 bucks cheaper than the unrusted version the shop had right next to it.

I mean other than having to track down what I believe is a T5 head screwdriver to take it apart I dont mind it much. As long as it has that Thunder reliability I'm happy. The only thing that sucks is having to try and read spanish while finding a red dot for the thing.

Also just buy a Lima 6 and FRT. There is zero reason to buy a pre-NFA firearm if you want full auto gat. Don't include this site in your manifesto. Thanks!

Why would I ever include this site? This is effectively a virtual playground for me to schizo out

Aren’t we on open registrations again?

If I had some infinity fuck you money I’d probably track down a FAMAS and Stg44. Probably never shoot them out of fear of ruining an investment/piece of history.

Otherwise any transferrable M4 just so I could cannibalize it for the receiver.

These are around the price range I’m looking at

If you’ve actually got that kind of money and aren’t just posting for attention spend it on something else. Pre ‘86 guns are toys for boomers pissing away their grandchildren’s inheritance. Build some passive income and quit posting about wanting to kill yourself on Green Reddit.

The M60 sucked anyways.

No I’m not just posting for attention. $30,000 isn’t a lot for me because I don’t own a car and will never buy one.
