All memes aside - eventually you’re not going to be able to carry a duty sized pistol or you’re just not going to want to. Better 6rds than zero.
Honestly I've appendix carried an MK23 before as a meme and although it wasn't the most comfy it can be done just don't get fat.

I’m a retarded bolty zoomer, don’t slander me with the b word!
Bolty zoomer, all it takes is one trip on the flat range and you will convert! We got a lobster bar and our brass goblins actually fetch your brass for you. Once you go full dakka dakka with dynamic movements and KINO content for your social media you will never be able to bolty boi ever again.

I’ve carried govt frame 1911’s and a 4” 686 before. You can carry almost anything if you want to.

There’s also times you’re required to wear a suit or worse yet polo and khakis and it’s carrying a pocket pistol or nothing at all.

The carcano m91 cavalry carbine is the ony correct awnser to home defense.
Does this count as home defense?

I've carried full-size pistols exclusively all the years I've been carrying concealed. Currently my two carry guns are a Dan Wesson Specialist (Govt. size 1911) and a Staccato P, but the first gun I ever bought specifically for carry was a Smith and Wesson Performance Center 627 V-Comp, big 8 shot N Frame .357 Mag with a 5" heavy diamond profile barrel and an interchangeable muzzle cap/compensator. All of my guns have been carried either OWB or in a shoulder holster, and I carry every day any time I am out of the house, including whenever I am at work. The size and weight of my carry guns have never bothered me and there has rarely ever been a time I've thought to myself "Y'know, I wish I was carrying a more compact pistol." I'm currently saving for a Coly Python Combat Elite because I want a revolver for carry again, and that will be the most compact carry gun I'll have ever owned once I have it. I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone go on the "You'll get tired of carrying a big gun and will stop carrying." lecture from people, and it just hasn't been the case for me. You just get used to it.

You don’t have to wear business casual or a suit very often do you?

How often has your pregnant wife needed something in the evening and you don’t feel like putting on that Bigfoot leather gun belt and jeans to go a quarter mile to the gas station?

Carry the biggest thing you can - but have a pocket pistol too.

We have dudes posting grenade launchers and obscure machine pistols in this thread, kiwi no one here is married lmao.

I get that. I wouldn't exactly be "recommending" a Hi Point 9mm carbine, but if some broke kid bought one for home defense, I wouldn't criticize their decision.
Agreed. I remember back when I could only afford a less than ideal pistol as a monkey slayer. I would never criticize someone for using the best self defense weapon they can afford.

No need to powerlevel, but do you work in an office setting or something similar where you don't need to be active often and you have your own space?
You just get used to it.
It actually comes to feeling a bit...strange when you don't have your pistol and mag/mags on you. Your pants might even be a little loose without them in your waistband.
Some of us are normal and actually married. Not a whole lot however.
Don't listen to this fucking liar. None of us are married and to a man we're all this interested in firearms because of compensating for teeny tiny wieners.

Thread tax: remember how I cried about firing full power .44 mag loads out of 4" or shorter barrels? Well, turns our Hornady makes some 155 gr 10mm ammo that can replicate the same effects even out of a full size 1911. Fucking hell. That Michiguns 1911 turned out to be worth every penny though. Comforting because it was goddamn expensive.

Don't let that put you off of shotguns entirely. They're a riot to shoot and that's worth something too - just maybe not so much in the "home defense" context. 🙂
A great source for quality shotguns or even pistols is police trade-ins. I saw some 870s and Glock 22s today at my LGS for like $350.
