What is deep conceal vs conceal? Pros and cons?
Pretty straight forward. Conceal means hidden on your person, deep conceal means very well hidden on your person. Play a game and try to spot CC chads in your daily life, once you look for it you'll see it often enough. You may want to opt for a smaller printing weapon if you are attending particular social events or need to wear a suit.

If you Listen to Boney™ you'll work your way up to aiming for hearts and heads, negating the anemic performance of .380 generally. .380 is actually a very impressive caliber in many ways, but a compact 9mm is very hard to beat from a general preparedness/ease to carry perspective. If this is your first gun get a, Glock 19.

It's quite small. What would you recommend as a ccw? Especially for a noobie
It's a ultimately a matter of personal preference but it's important to balance picking a gun you'll actually carry with a gun that you'll actually carry. Training will help narrow the gap between these two, often contradicting, criteria. I currently carry a DA/SA P2000 because I like being able to thumb the hammer when reholstering and its big enough for me to get a full grip on the frame while also being concealable enough that I can carry it without printing too much when wearing just a t-shirt.

What is deep conceal vs conceal? Pros and cons?
Deep conceal is when you take extra precautions to conceal your firearm and in many cases, the holster itself. You'd only really have to do this if you plan on carrying in non-permissive places where there'd be consequences to being caught with a firearm such as offices with strict no gun policies, schools, government buildings, or other gun-free zones. This usually entails carrying smaller guns deeper below your waistline and can be less comfortable than regular carry.

Welp, i was wrong about them issuing guidance early this week.

Not giving ANY guidance to industry operations investigators, is hilarious.

I see two paths forward, 0 guidance going forward, or very little guidance pertaining to how to get cans out of your “nfa inventory” and the like.

Seems like goa members can make nfa items as long as they engrave them i guess???
Hilarious/Retarded update

New ATF director commented on a (very) retarded story about how the ATF spends X dollars on Y (when they really spend it on Z ect.)

All the comments are about mentioning the complete lack of guidance, extremely tone deaf for him, If I was him, I would just not post anything right now.

But chrome is the vastly superior lining for a gun that is going to be in a combat zone, not only for the heat properties but also from a barrel durability to environment standpoint.
I hear this a lot, but I'm not convinced. Nitriding has been used on combat rifles before, and some (like the SIG 550) are known to have exceptionally durable barrels. Should also be more wear resistant than chrome lining IIRC.

I believe chrome lining is more wear resistant. Nitriding only affects a few microns of the steel, whereas chrome lining deposits chrome in a much thicker layer. Both are of similar hardness, so chrome should last much longer. Everywhere I read though has said that nitride tends to produce more accurate barrels on average (I personally can’t tell much of a difference), whereas with chrome it needs to be hand lapped ($$$) in order to achieve similar results. I doubt it really matters in the long run as with both you’d be spending more on ammo over the cost of the barrel before you shoot it out.

I don't care what long gun you use to defend your home if youre not jumping out of bed to the beep of a shot timer every so often you're gonna get your sling stuck on the nightstand, knock over a bed side lamp with the muzzle and stub your toe when it matters.
IT'S GONNA GET YA KILT IN THE SHEETS

I've just realized that the Bersa Thunder 380 CC is the ONLY slim DA/SA with a decocker still in production.

If they would just very slightly widen the inside of the mag well, they could probably fit a stack-and-a-half 10 or 12 rounder in there and have what could be an amazing carry gun. Slightly change the slide to be capable of an optic cut and add a light rail and it'd be the last handgun I'd ever buy.
I don't find carrying a bersa thunder an acceptable compromise to get a decocking DA/SA subcompact.

Every time I get the revolver itch I end up hating what I buy. First I got an sp101, that thing was cool but the takedown lever under the grip would come out after 3 shots, and wasn't fun to shoot. Then I bought a new colt combat 3 inch, that thing was cool and fun to shoot but weighs so much I never carried it.

What do gunkiwi? 686?
Model 66 Combat Mag.

K frame is usually more comfortable than a L frame.

I have a 686 and a Model 66 and I like the way the K frame Model 66 fits my hand

this is what happens when 90 years of legalese gets struck down overnight. the NFA was how we did things for so long that there isn't a clear safe and legal way to not go through the NFA process. I believe the GCA 1968 also complicates things.

Exactly, no one likes sympathizing with the ATF (for good reason)
but they don't have an easy job here.
Fed Gun laws are a complete spider web of retardation, and a large part just got snipped for two groups in two different ways.

OK I'll bite!

facfox-vz61frt.jpg

There's a $30 minimum so I would have to order 6 and tax/shipping is another 30. $10/ea in 316 stainless doesn't seem too bad though.

EDIT:

I just came across this guy's homemade vz61 drum mag from 2019. Holds 74rds with 9mm and 79rds with .32. He could probably make some decent money today if he could find a way to put these in production:

apparently it works in CFnylon and PLA+ so I don't know If I would jump the gun on making some just yet, I will bet it's not perfect and there will be an iteration or two to come out.

Posted a little early I guess, this follows with 0 guidance being given to IOIs and is a good sign that audits were passed. TL;DR 3-4 stores passed audits after doing Suppressors over 4473s, some marked said suppressors as "Disposed" to get them off their books.

The min. order per material is still $30 so you'd have to buy about 25 of them in any of the nylons

I just like playing with that site. Now that they have the STL they'll probably be available on AliExpress by Monday.

That's fucking wild, and you can't emphasize the 0 guidance enough. Maybe (3/5ths of) the NFA will actually die in our lifetime?

How is the shield as opposed to The bodyguard 2.0?
The Shield is a subcompact 9mm with the ability to mount an optic. The Bodyguard 2.0 is a .380 pocket pistol. Either one can stop a fight just fine and while some folks do carry their Bodyguards in belt holsters, I think it does its best work as a pocket pistol, to be carried in a pocket when you're "not carrying a gun" for whatever reason.

I did not like the factory sights that came on the Bodyguard. Mine came mounted off-center but even if they weren't, I'm not a fan of their design. My Bodyguard is also picky as fuck about what it feeds. I've only gotten 2 of the 7 types of HPs I've tried to reliably feed in it. I'll probably just run ball ammo in it. The Shield eats whatever.

I don't have comprehensive knowledge of what .380 JHPs are available now but if memory serves, they did not reliably expand in an old meat target test and were basically pointless. I have extreme penetrators in my .380s.

Ordered a pair of these for my Python, since I don't care for the short boot grips and love brass. I wanted the more utilitarian grips this outfit offers, but they were out of stock for the brass ones, had been for MONTHS (and I was checking their site pretty much daily), and their customer support guy wouldn't give me any solid idea on when more would be made. He just said "I'll ask the machinist if they can be added to the rotation." whenever I asked, and they never seemed to be added. So I ordered a pair of their fancier "Dress" grips in brass. Maybe in the future if the more utilitarian "Work" grips in brass become available, I'll order a pair of them as well.

Next paycheck I'll be ordering a set of Eliason tritium rear sights from Kensight. Eliason sights were the rear sights that came on the vintage Pythons and are excellent. Accurate and rugged, and I like that they offer the option to get them with tritium inserts. I'll likely also get speed loader carriers neck check as well.
