I've always thought .30 Super Carry was oddly well suited to something like a TMP or a TP9/MP9. It sort of splits the difference between a 5.7 or 4.6 and a 9x19. Whether that's a compromise anyone wants to make or would find useful, I have no idea, but it's a mechanical hypothetical I find mildly interesting.

I have 2 bids on gunbroker that I figured I'd cast out on a lark and maybe I'd end up getting at least one of them, and as the timer keeps ticking down I have a growing dread that I'm going to end up winning both as no one else has bid on either one in 48 hours.

Update: Ive won one of the auctions, the next one is done in 5 days and Im still the only bidder.

It’s turkshit. The color case hardening is fake. The barrels aren’t regulated and it will be stiff as a board and way oversprung.

If you want a SxS get a used American, British, German, Swedish or Belgian make. All can be had under 1k on the used market for the plain Jane models.
Goddamn it.

What's a good place to look for SxS models like the ones you're thinking of?

Old West Scrounger/Navy Arms. A lot of them are good European guns that are unable to be nitro proofed for steel so they are getting dumped on the US market. Navy Arms has been bringing them in and selling them through their storefront Old West Scrounger.

It’s a double barrel coach gun. Besides him larping as Ash Williams or keeping it on a rack above the fireplace for vibes it’ll blast a fox or coon on the property just fine.

Stop buying Turkshit. Spend a little more money and buy good guns. Otherwise you end up like my brother that has a ton of shit guns that he wont sell because nobody will give him what he wants for them. Its because theyre all low tier garbage.

gonna eventually get a threaded barrel for my RXM 17 slide and the TiN gold is calling for me. would that be too garish?

that being said the AP5 keeps the dream alive but YMMV

I am hunting the only two Turkish guns worth a damn to add to my collection of “shit converted to 8mm Mauser”

The Turks did the Springfield 1903 and the Enfauser aka the Lee Enfield chambered in 8mm Mauser. So far I’ve got a Carcano TS, a Steyer M95M, and I’m eyeing an Arisaka Type 38, every time I think I’ve found the last one another appears

Turkshit will blast varmints on your land or a feral nigger just fine. It’s a tube that goes boom not a go to war rifle.

I don't think the good versions of the guns the Turks are shitting out are a little more. Probably 2-3x, or even higher for some.

Tisas is Turkshit, right? I know this doesn't mean it's true for all their firearms, but those are great for the price.

Fuck I'm salty learning that the Sharptail Coach isn't made in the Czech Republic. Fuck you CZ

If it’s a American/European company offering a break action shotgun costing less that 1-1.5k it is turkshit rebranded. Or Brazilian.

Even browning, shotgun making behemoth that it is cannot offer a Belgian made O/U for less than 2700.

Yet the average buyer is presented a sea of 12, a selection of 410's, and maybe a few 20 gauge guns at their local gun store. First-time shooters who would be better suited by a 16 gauge rarely even know it exists and will walk out the door with a $200 12 gauge rather than special-ordering something likely 3 to 10x as expensive.
410 is dead these days. Ammo costs a fortune. Half the time I see it 28ga is cheaper by a hair

A lot of them are good European guns
Be careful with this.
Many British guns are chambered for 2-1/2, and cannot be safely fired with 2-3/4 which is substantially more available. Some of the british guns being brought in also haven't been proofed for smokeless powder.
I can't speak for the ones from Navy Arms that are mostly Spanish/Italian, but the British ones require a little more research before purchase

Yes never shoot 2 3/4 shells in a 2 1/2 gun. The 2 3/4 shell is actually 2 1/2 inches long unfired if star crimped. The short chamber won’t let the star crimp open all the way and creates a bore obstruction leading to over pressure.

Luckily with guns even older with shorter chambers a 2 3/4 shell won’t fit.

Most British guns made post 1870 that were kept shooting will have been proofed for smokeless, but they should not be fired with more than about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 oz of shot unless they are a pigeon or waterfowling gun. British guns are lightweight for fast shooting at driven game. Shooting heavier payloads won’t blow up the gun but it will shoot loose pretty quick and a gunsmith will have to put the barrels back on face.

If it wasn’t ever proofed for smokeless or has Damascus barrels you can shoot smokeless shells specially loaded to have pressures equal or lower than the blackpowder they were built for, BUT ONLY IF THE BARRELS ARE SOUND.

Or you can shoot blackpowder which is more fun
