In other words, this is also politics, I guarantee you if the dems get in power again they're gonan raise that tax to 200,000 usd.
Oh they absolutely will, and will then continue to try and push worse federally. Just look at all of the nonsense the dem states have passed as anti 2a bills over the past decade. There's a lot of places where this ATF ruling just won't apply because gun owners there are effectively 2nd class citizens. Without a clear supreme court ruling there's nothing stopping them from pulling an NFA 2.0, a FOPA 2.0, an AWB 2.0 etc.
Which states have which restrictions now?
CA, NY, NJ, IL, and a few others for suppressors. SBS and SBR is again another set of separate issues that includes MN, HI, RI. And you've still got "Assault Weapon" nonsense as well.

And there's plenty with restrictions on this shit even though they aren't outright banned. But that also means those states have legislators in congress that can and will vote to restrict shit federally if not stopped.

The only other big asterix here is that interstate transport of SBRs and SBS still requires you to submit a Form 20, even if it's unregistered

It DOES NOT apply to Suppressors (and I think AOWs as well but don't quote me on that) but if you move to another state and own SBRs or SBSs, legally you have to inform the ATF and get their permission. (though without having them it in the NFA registry I struggle to see how they could prove you built the SBR/SBS before the move)

To Trump's ATF's credit though Form 20s used to be way worse. You used to have to submit a form 20 just when temporarily visiting another state, and you couldn't actually move your NFA items there until AFTER the ATF gave you approval (which could take months), I've heard horror stories of a guy needing to buy a safe, put their NFA stuff in it and leave the safe at a buddies house but take the key with them (so legally he didn't transfer possession of it), then submit a Form 20 for permanent moving of those items, and then have to travel back to their buddies house, to bring them to their new house only after ATF approval. Legally that was the only way to stay in the clear.

Thanks to a separate ATF ruling, you no longer need to submit a form 20 when moving them through another state temporarily (under 365 days) and you no longer need to wait for them to give you permission, just move them, then submit a Form 20 promptly after you move, and as long as it gets approved you're in the clear. I think you can also now do Form 20s on the eforms website, they used to be paper only.

It's still retarded since they're basically requiring you to update them on the location of an item that's not even registered in the first place, but luckily for me I'm not planning on moving states anytime soon.

I have been having issues with reloading ammo, where when I attempt to crimp the round with a factory die, it doesnt fully crimp, with me being able to push the round into the case. The bullet should be the right size, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Maybe my FFL is being silly but he still won't do it - he's not an SOT and doesn't think this releases regular FFL's to do xfers.
From what I understand from my FFL, the SOT is still required to transfer or to make as a dealer/manufacturer federally. I was talking one locally and he said he and a few other FFL are looking to challenge this federally. This was something explicitly asked by him and others to the local ATF office and responded to as "lol nope get fucked, because your an FFL it applies, like how homemade guns require no serial number".

I don't care if the gas prices go to the moon now, make it law and I'll get my "got what I voted for sticker". If the world goes to shit, then a great rising of the civilian militia will occur and politicians get the rope . If they try to make it illegal, then there's gonna be millions of men armed fighting them and politicians and cops get the rope.
Win-win.

You're forgetting some states require you to have the NFA stamp that doesn't NOT ban them. Like Nevada or Mississippi.

i'm keeping my brace until MP5a3 stocks aren't a fucking absurd price. i reject any reason to pay six hundred smackaroos or more for one. i don't want the magpul stock; magpul MP5 furniture looks like it's made for a lego man. instead i'm going to keep dumping money into the riced out RXM and send my 17 slide in for glockstore's slide cut and barrel port because at this point the only way out is through

The one moderately large asterix on this is that it’s not a change in law,
The bigger asterisk for me is my local FFL saying he reads this as still requiring an SOT for the transfer so he (and normal FFL's) still can't/won't do it. I just don't know any SOT's. Yet.

Yeah he's being paranoid but I don't blame him or any others after surviving what Biden's ATF put them all through.

What caliber? Jacketed or soft plated/coated?
If it's a straight wall die where you've already bottomed out the adjustment plug and it still isn't crimping you can try putting a ring/tube/washer between it and the carbide crimper to get a bit more range of adjustment.

On the bottleneck dies you should simply need to thread the die in further on the press to get more crimp.

God dammit I picked the worst possible fucking time to try THC. How long do you have to be clean before you can reasonably say you are on the 4473?

For power level reasons I can't really go into, lying on the form would be a very, very bad idea for me.
