I currently own a fin grip with my AR but I believe the fin grip look more natural aesthetic with the AKs over the ARs.

I'm hoping to get my nj fid license sometime this year and a handgun permit (because you need both in this demorat hole state) and my first gun will be the smith and wesson model 629 the same gun used by my hero in my pfp captian rhodes.

*sigh* but like i said nj's guns laws are second only to commiefonia with how bad they are and phil murphy has vowed to make them worse. including requiring owner to get thie fid card renewed every four years. and raising the prices to get a gun license. Thankfully that hasn't happened...yet.

oh well...hopefully i can get everything in order and pass all the checks and get fingerprinted.

I will someday replace the carbine stock for a rifle stock. I was surprised to the learn the M16 uses rifle sticks whereas the M4 used a carbine as the barrel is 14 inches compared to 16 inches on my AR.

Also learned about sopmod and that mark 18 mod 1 stuff. Looks more user friendly than this mlok free floating meme stuff.

If you're going to get an S&W 629 try and find one from the 80s or early 90s that's in good condition. That was before they put the horrible frame locks in their wheel guns.

how in the actual hell do you think free floated barrels are a meme

Watched this today by Colin Noir.

I get they comfortable but don't like the mlok stuff and having to make sure its a T as it took me hours to attach a handstop to it.

Inexperience.
So with Iron Sights and Red Dots, Is it okay to aim with both eyes while head back or one eye down for accuracy?

1. Oh. That's not what free float means. Free float means "does not touch the barrel" and in many guns (such as the Accuracy International guns that popularized the concept) has nothing to do with mlok attachments.

2. Whichever lets you put more rounds on target - preferably faster. If ammo wasn't tight, I'd say git gud with both. You never know what can be useful.

Has anyone ever put an Eotech on an AK optic mount? How high does it sit? Torn between the Eotech and an MRO.
Not to be snarky, but it would depend on your mount. Some AK mounts are almost high enough that you can get the dust cover off with them on, some are much more slim and reasonable.

If you know the height over bore of the rail, add the EoTech (or any other sight) to that and there you go, a comparison before you've even ever spent any money.

Unless you're using a dust cover mount (so either a zenitco or the native one on a Zastava), enjoy your chin weld. From what I understand, the MRO is wildly unpopular right now for a number of reasons. I personally love Eotechs but they're chonky as hell on AKs.

I hope that based Joe will ban AK rifles (because terrorists, foreign and domestic, use them) and Russian ammunition imports (Barnaul is the main ammo provider for EVIL RUSSIAN ARMY that threatens HECKING UKRAINOOOS). When that happens, I'll be able to buy 5.45s at a reasonable price again.

My rail isn't that high luckily, definitely can't get the dust cover off.

I'm not sure about the MROs I've heard complaints but I've also heard all those problems were with the 1st gen MROs.

I've decided to go with the Eotech XPS2-2, since that the lowest profile they have. 2.4in versus 2.9in.

I want to buy spear heads and long knives. Stilletos. Double edged. Blades. Any recommendations?

I personally like the Benchmade SOCP though.
