Curious, what do you guys use for a carry? I just switched from a S&W to a Glock 43X and I gotta say this little fucker is awesome (after I just about replaced everything on it...).
I just built a 43 (not 43X) from an 80% frame and a third party slide. I think it's the same slide and barrel, but shorter grip. Still breaking it in, but I think I like it.

I replaced the stock mag release for one that sticks out a little further, because the stock one can be kinda hard to squeeze. Also I got some night sights.

If Maryland ever stops sucking dick re: guns (it'll be a court case, obviously), I'd definitely use it for carry.
There's no realistic way that the ATF can enforce this and the cat is waaaay out of the bag at this point. No one is going to comply with it and if you do, just bring your guns to the nearest buy back you fucking spineless cuck.
When I first heard about it, I bought a couple of spare plain buffer tubes in case I needed to remove the braces on my pistols.

But reading this proposal, it seems they're going after the whole thing, braces or not. Fuck that.

Tokarevs are already stupid hot. You can squeeze upwards of 1800fps out of 7.62x25 with the right load. The poor man's 5.7, indeed.
Back in the day, I fucked around and cooked one up in .38 Super. It was a snap, needing only the barrel & new recoil spring. IIRC, I got it from Marstar & custom spring sourced from Wolff.

That thing was definitely hot; so hot, it evaporated into a nice stack of money, even back then.

I usually like larger firearms especially rifles, but the Glock DIY clones are great, I created a 43 just to have something small enough to be a backup piece or conceal carry.

Personally I think the whole rule proposals are just to fulfill the executive order while being unworkable in practice. They know nobody will go for it, it's just reaching. Also you can permanently attach a brake to reach 16" via silver solder or pin and weld, if you really need to do this.

Who's ready for David 'Waco Wacko' Chipman to be confirmed by sitting traitors Congress tomorrow?
Anyone with a functioning brain would tell this creep to fuck off and go back into retirement. He's done plenty at Waco.

I understand needing some sort of regulations for small arms and whatnot but this guy is so biased it's not even funny. Also he's not fit to be director of a party of toilet scrubbers let alone any government agency.

That sounds like the steel core Czech ammo, the lacquered stuff that comes on 8-round stripper clips. It's alright for being around 60-70 years old, feels a little bit more spicy than the Russian or ChiCom ammo. Just inspect the rounds before loading, if they have gobs of lacquer on the case it may get glued to the inside of the chamber after firing. Still need to test it on a chronograph to confirm exactly how spicy it is.

So here's some cool shit:

I was cleaning out an old family shed and found a Type 99 Arisaka bring-back from the occupation of Japan. It's rusted to shit and there's nowhere to get ammo, but I wouldn't mind putting up a couple hundred bucks to get it cleaned as a collector piece.

Not exactly the rarest rifle, but it does still have the anti-aircraft sites intact and we've got a personal connection to it since a relative brought it back after the war.
Are you able to tell if the chrysanthemum is intact? Or is it rusted too badly?

Just saw the Waco kid's confirmation got pushed back. The running I've seen is that the Dems did a quick headcount and don't have the support to push it through.
There is only one Waco Kid, and that's Gene Wilder in Blazing Saddles.

I personally don't think this froot loop is gonna make it in, but then again it is Clown World.

It’s still in the rafters of the shed, so I haven’t gotten a great look but I can’t see it from the ground or the pictures I took.

The fact he was even nominated shows how far into clown world we are, so I guess keep up the pressure.

Don't worry though guys cause the republicans are hammering the real important points, like that chipman had his gun stolen from him while he was a field agent (cause he apparently left it in his car). The Senate requested his official records and chipman has refused to give them to the Senate.

Anyone know of good gun(s) to get for a first time owner? I know some people talked about it in the old riot thread, but I don't feel like diving into that.

The basics; an AR-15 and any Glock or S&W in 9mm flavor. Once you're proficient with them, start branching out into less bland stuff if you choose to.

However, an AR and a 9mm sidearm is the very least that everyone should own.

Since @White Devil asked. My daily is a g20 ported with trigger work. Aside that when lazy and want a pocket gun a 1903 I have a Walter ccp and love it but after recall I still don't trust and my back up carry is a cz97bd or my makarov.

We had a dumb carry day thread on /k/ and I packed a m1895 nagant that was awful.

Everyone's first gun should be a .22lr rifle. It will teach you the fundamentals of sight alignment and be cheap (relatively today) to shoot and purchase.

After that? Depends on what you're wanting. Want a home defense gun? Buy a shotgun and practice with it. Any $150 used Mossberg in a pawn store will stop anyone coming into your home. Want a CCDW? There are literally hundreds of options in 2021 that will go pop when you pull the trigger.

I usually recommend a revolver of some type as a second range toy, if you just want to spend the day shooting. You can shoot all day and not spend a small fortune depending on what it is you're shooting. You're just not going to be tempted to do 17-round mag dumps.
