Melanie Herring / Purplekecleon / PK / PapayaKitty / GlitchedPuppet / Ash Hazel Woods / Floraverse - Abusive, manipulative SJW artist whose ex-husband fucked a dog and teenagers and whose current husband thinks he's trans because of a TF fetish, admitted to fucking two dogs and letting her cat eat her out

:powerlevel:: As an artist it scares me to see both glip and their fans reaction to this. No, obviously you don't have to agree with a critique, but throwing a shitfit is the most immature way of doing so.
Furry fetish porn artists generally have very devoted fan bases that will defend everything their darlings do to the death, so I'm not surprised.

the fact that she said adding the shadows on that one page with beleth and furfur wasn't the mood she was going for?

what mood PK? everything looks the same, you really can't get a grasp of what's serious and what's not unless it's your edgy black and white sketches.

even then you can't tell what's going on.

i'm positive she's mad because a ~nobody~ made her crap look 10x times better.

:story: Your meds are totally working, PK.
You can't medicate a shitty personality, tho.

But seriously, I don't understand her opposition to eyeshine at all. Like I get that the multiple anime ones are cliche but eyeshine even in hyperrealistic or hyperstyilized shit works to give depth to even the most scant shading. Even minimal traces of eyeshine.
- It implies your characters/subject are, you know, alive and not animated corpses with jellied eyeballs. But even a cube of jello has more life than PKs stuff.

"Wasn't the mood I was going for!!"
Bu-whu? You put the two on top of a building in the rain having an intense conversation....but adding backlighting and shadows ruins the mood? The fuck, should there have been cupcakes and butterflies to improve the serious tone, the hell is she on about?

The thing is, didn't PK go to art school? Even if she dropped out it, she must have left really fuckin' early because since my course started it's been nothing but greyscale practise and anatomy and the importance of good contrast. Like the very first most basic stuff and PK's like NAH ITS NOT IMPORTANT ITS MY STYYYYYYLE

When she was doing a livestream with CG cookie she says she didn't like art school because she had to draw HUMAN ANATOMY, along with the costs, she said she had a hard time listening to teachers only for her to realize that they might be right only after a long time.

*I also love how she used Mona Lisa to prove her point. It's values might be lighter than they used to be due to age but even there, where the value scale is limited, everything is distributed wisely, if you squint your eyes you can seperate the face, hair, body from everything. It's a well done painting. Unlike the blobby mess that her work is.

You should post some of your own art to show you're willing to get on her level and aren't as afraid as she demonstrably is, nonetheless. Even if as just an example.

I don't really want to share my own artwork because I rather want to stay anonymous and people will be able to identify me with my art style. Maybe there's a way to get around this. But it's something I'm not comfortable doing.

It'd show you have the balls she lacks. As it is at least on that point alone I don't feel it's right to criticise her in turn for that like you did, although I agree thoroughly with most all else you written.

You could make an original example here and there. If you truly do work professionally then unless you go all out the style shouldn't be too easy to figure out. Besides, what can she do?

Even though I work professionally I am also active in the small online art communities, I rather not want to create needless drama around myself, I can show my abilities when I do redraws and edits but I'm not gonna show any of my proffesional and personal artwork, but I get your point.

It wouldn't be too bad if PK didn't have an entire freaking army of drones at her disposal. Any time someones said something dissenting and left even a shred of evidence to their real identity these goons have hunted down their dox and done everything they can to make that person's life a living hell. To risk something like that just to show you're 'on the same level' as PK, someone who has already had a meltdown over a couple of edits and some minor critique and wouldn't care if a professional was the one making them since she doesn't consider other peoples art or experience to hold as much value as hers, would be throwing yourself to the lions.

You hang with people who respect her? Whew lad, I pity that. I get the idea though in the sense PK won't see the difference between a constructive depreciation of her work and a personal attack on you, all the same to this chaotic evil piece of garbage I know.

It is my understanding that professionals don't have 'as much' of a style though when it comes to crafting pictures for a specific purpose as you're meant to be adaptive.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, to the post by Lala.

You could make a quick sketch, a cropped image, or something unfinished. That's what I usually do here.

Not to mention that associating your professional work with Kiwi Farms will invite all kinds of problems and drama, maybe months down the line. It's not something that should be encouraged.

Oh my God, she mentioned Dunning-Kruger - which is exactly what comes to mind when I think of her sad art. I love, love, LOVE people that somehow manage to project their lameness onto others!
How do they NOT realize they're feeding the hate by doing this? Her ex-fans and haters are as many as her Patreon backers. Never seen anyhing like this before, and I've seen hundreds of people whose art makes even other industry veterans jealous.

Also, er, I think we can all agree therapy isn't going so well for her.
