I'm laid off, bored and generally melancholic so I decided to go to a couple of major cemeteries on a somber sightseeing tour.
(Shorter than what I had originally typed because hit something wrong and deleted all the shit and I'm not doing it all again.)
The pictures are uploading as black so I'm hoping they actually work when they post this because I don't want to have to do this shit a third time I might cry irl.
Lexington Cemetery:

Shakespearean trained actor best known for playing Ernest P. Worrell.

Senator Henry Clay's giant fuckoff memorial. His wife's smaller marble thing is tucked off to the side while he holds center stage. The air coming from inside was creepily cold.

Mostly civil war graves. A LOT of "Unknown Soldier" marked ones. Others had a mix of names, state and & or units. Some ww2 and korean veterans that died more recently were on the far edges.

CSA Memorial and a couple of the handful of marked CSA graves.
Frankfort:

Each side had a different scene. I really liked the one of him punching an indian. His grave has a hell of a scenic view out over Kentucky River and part of Frankfort. Windy as fuck since it's on the side of a hill, though.

Massive pillar with names and battles all up all 4 sides. There's plaques with the names of Kentucky's dead from the war of 1812 to the first persion gulf war along the outside of the walkway around the pillar, ww2 is like 4 plaques long by itself. Outside of that are a lot of mexican-american war graves. Including Henry Clay's son.

US Marine that was the first to plant the American flag on foreign soil. Someone left a shot of Buffalo Trace on his grave.

CSA Memorial with a lot more graves than in Lexington.

Kentucky Memorial of the Unborn. Stuck at the end of a dead end street at the very ass end of the cemetery. A tear jerker even if you don't have children.
I took around 60 pictures in total so if you want the rest of the sides of Boone's grave or something like that let me know.
That's if these black squares actually upload properly. Please work, site, please.
