We donators have a few threads in the Supporters subforum for us to describe our attitudes toward different parts of the forum and individual threads, and address concerns and grievances among people we trust where there is relatively little judgment. This is different from the Feedback subforum because not all concerns are worthy of their own thread in Feedback, and also in Feedback there are no colorful candy buttons to use as a barometer as to the popularity of your own opinions.

Up to now we completely left our plebeian friends out of them, because to be completely honest we just don't like you and don't want you to know we've been talking about you some of the opinions expressed are highly radioactive and have been kept in a faraway, contained exclusion zone for your own safety lest you all grow a third arm or something like that. Due to recent events the idea has been bandied about of moving certain threads in the subforum to a more public space, but since this would make such a drastic change this is not likely to happen in the near future.

So as a compromise, this thread will be a centerpiece for some more democratic discussion of our community, threads or events that you pond scum feel are worth commenting on. Supporters should feel welcome to reply here as well if there are opinions they feel comfortable sharing in public, so everyone can see how thoughtful you are and what great posts you make. The only rule is that you have to say what you want to say.

I don't think the Banned User Email Cache should be dumped in the public, especially since the recipients still post here. That comic gold should not be released to the unwashed masses. The overt and subtle call-out threads would be nice to release to the public, besides most of the posts in subtle are jokes (most of my posts have been references to cumrobbery). I would love to see the overt thread go public just because I know many people here would release a fury of autism when they see their name pop up in a post. Nothing else really matters on that board. Forum games would explain some of the more peculiar things that happen from time to time and thread commentaries is usually fair.

No really, just make it fucking moot to purchase supporters.

Just resign your donator status

As a non-donator I'd say that the meta threads are best kept in Supporters because otherwise anything concerning other users(like the call-out thread) becomes either watered down kiddieshit that doesn't entertain anyone or lets out all the dirty laundry to both for the forum at large and the other sites. As well as some people said, it would render supporter status relatively meaningless.

In general I think this forum could do with tightening the requirements of getting into the Off-Topic sections (like a minimum of 100 posts/200 positive ratings or 3-6 months' membership) so people who can't survive genpop won't mingle with the regulars in Off-Topic too much.

Isn't there a rule about communauty Infighting ?

So you like have to make the callout without singling anyone in particular.
What's the fucking point ?

For you non-supporters who might be confused, this is because there's a thread called "Subtly call out people without name-dropping" and I've taken to using it to "subtly" call out the dramaqueens in it who've been talking smack about you non-supporting poors, and now they're getting all triggered over it.

I really just payed money to support the site, the supporters threads themselves are kinda an alright perk but I personally don't care about them so this thread doesn't bother me at all. Plus if I dislike someone or their posting I try to say it to their face so I like the thought behind this thread.

I feel a little hypocritical putting the brakes on this thread as I myself have criticized some of that behavior in Supporters as well.

However after some thought I've decided it's best to leave Supporters content as is. And no, it's not just about the donation money and trying to appease our paying members. If I truly didn't want to keep Supporters, I'd have nuked the whole sub-board and gladly covered losses. I've shelled out my own cash before when our server bill far exceeded donation funds during the stretch of time that we paid for extra DDoS protection during the 'Gamerfood' attacks.

Rather, it's more for maintaining an outlet where people can talk about whatever the hell they want. And while that has led to posts being what some might call distasteful, that's life. And even though I choose not to venture into certain threads or topics, I shouldn't enforce that as a rule on other people. One of my biggest flaws is assuming some kind of moral superiority or art-thou-holier attitude, and I now recognize that as being why I've been so vocal regarding this. Not good.

Supporters will not be having any changes.

Oh, and the scope of this thread is crazy broad. Talk about what you want, but no need for Meta Megathreads. We have two boards for that.

If you have a concern about the site and only want staff to see, start a Talk to Staff thread.
If you have concerns about the site and want to discuss it with the community as well, start a Feedback thread.

Thank you :heart-full:
