I remember at one point Cover Corp (Hololive) and AnyColor (Nijisanji) teamed up to make some gay anti-defamation committee so they could take action against people shittalking and harassing their VTubers, and nothing came of it outside of Japan. Mikeneko is also well known for being litigious, but also only in Japan. The reason for that is Japan's defamation laws are completely screwed, you're liable for defamation even if the facts you're alleging are merely opinion or provably true, and you can even be prosecuted criminally for it.But only the big Japanese corpo tend to be litigious, and even then only if you create a shitstorm large enough to get their attention.
I can't think of a single instance of a VTuber related lawsuit outside Japan. Though there was an instance where the law got involved, when a stalker showed up to Camila's house after bugging a gift he sent her with some kind of GPS tracker or something and tried to break in with a sledgehammer. Crazy motherfucker told the police he was "visiting his friend."
