I started playing Revengeance. Why didn't I play it sooner? Great gameplay, hilarious writing, a bitching soundtrack, requires no knowledge of the Metal Gear storyline, and it doesn't run like shit on my toaster.

EDIT: OH MY GOD IF YOU WEAR THE MARIACHI COSTUME AND USE THE BOX THE SOMBRERO SITS ON TOP OF THE BOX

HOW THE FUCK DID THIS NOT WIN GOTY

Remarkably, a company employee managed to hide from the two gunmen throughout the day under a cardboard box, media reported, escaping unharmed after being able to speak to police on the phone and explain the layout of the warehouse.

There's an elaborate theory going around that the Snakes in Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are actually two different people.

That's an interesting theory. But not one I can buy since so much of their proof comes from old trailers that could be changed in the final game. One theory I hear a lot is that Solidus is running around by the time Phantom Pain takes place since he had the most extreme accelerated aging and that he is Ishmael or Big Boss in the Phantom Pain.

Oh the amount of time I spent trying to do this, especially knocking the guard out with the sign. I love this video so much.
I did this sort of method a few times that honestly, it is useful to get S rank, though the second gun emplacement can be tricky, plus the third may as well need C4. Nevertheless, this was one of the best things to ever see.

I checked it out and there's no option to replace your own hand with Snake's prosthetic

0/10 fuck this shit

On Metal Gear Solid 4
The main story for MGS4 was an absolute clusterfuck. Metal Gear has had confusing stories in the past (like MGS2, for example), but with enough looking into of the fine print, you can make some sense into it. No matter how hard I try, I still can't figure anything that goes on in the main story. I think what really makes everything come crashing down, any hope the story had of making sense, was with Big Boss's return in the epilogue. From a story standpoint, Big Boss was only there to clear up anything that didn't make sense in the story, but in the process, he only makes it MORE confusing than ever. First off, how does he come back? I understand his new body is made of parts from Liquid and Solidus, okay that's understandable. But how does he know pretty EVERYTHING that happened. He claims Naomi told him. When? She died back in Act 4, what did she have planned to be sent to you after the Patriots were destroyed. Plus, where was Big Boss? What super secret Patriots facility was he trapped in before they fell that he: Got new body parts for himself, found and kidnapped a now old Zero, find out Snake was at Arlington, and make it there to watch Snake attempt suicide. And we've only scratched the surface. Big Boss mentions that Ocelot's Liquid persona was nothing but a :ruse: to fool the Patriots. How does he know this? Keep in mind, Big Boss, Naomi, EVA, and Ocelot's goal was to end the Patriots' reign. In other words, their entire goal was to get their asses kicked by Snake. All the shit you saw them do for 5 Acts was all so they would lose and the heroes would destroy GW, and by extension, JD. Finally Snake's unstable version of FOXDIE. Naomi said that in half a year, Snake would essentially become a weapon of mass destruction, causing everyone around him to be killed by the virus. BUT NOW, Big Boss said that the new version of FOXDIE planted into Snake's body by Drebin destroyed the old version, meaning he's safe and doesn't need to commit suicide. That's a pretty big thing to leave out and not tell Snake, Naomi! It's not like Drebin did this late in the game, this was THE FIRST ACT. This pretty much implies that Naomi made Snake turn even more nihilist for a joke. Much like this game's story.

And you know what? I still love MGS4. The story was terrible, and yet I feel it had some of the best character interactions in the series yet. The sub-plots are what hold this game together. Snake being forced to come to terms with his accelerated aging is something that's so hard to watch, the scene where Naomi sees how decayed Snake's body has become was absolutely well done. Snake has practically shut out everyone important to him in his life, despite people like Otacon and Meryl still trying to stay close to him. The only thing Snake clings to are his cigarettes, despite the toll they take on his health. They actually successfully made tobacco, of all things, an important piece to what Snake has become. Despite how confusing the epilogue is, Big Boss and Snake reconciling I feel is one of the most emotional scenes in video game history. Just watching Big Boss disarm Snake, hug him, and say "Let it go, my son." was such a powerful scene. There's also Big Boss's death long after on the Boss's grave. Finally reconciled with his son, Big Boss's last words are, "This is good....isn't it?" Scenes like that are what keep MGS4 out of my shit list and why I still feel it's a game worth playing.

Christ, that's a lot of text I made.

On Metal Gear Solid 4

Fun fact: In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid 4, the voice actor for Liquid Ocelot was Banjou Ginga, the voice actor of Liquid Snake(MGS 1 & 2) and Major Zero(MGS 3 & Portable Ops). Koji Totani the voice actor for Revolver Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2, died in 2006. Banjou Ginga took over the role possibly because of Totani's death and because Liquid Snake 'takes over' Ocelot's mind. Why the change for Cam Clarke to voice Liquid Ocelot instead of Pat Zimmerman is unclear.

Just gonna share something about Phantom Pain:

Last E3 had some gameplay of it. It's in Afghanistan likes a few other gameplay videos there were for it.

Ummmm.... Big Boss was capable of speaking Russian. Did he forget how? Or is this another piece of evidence to not big boss. I'm glad that ability to play as recruited soldiers is back.

Well, considering the injuries Big Boss had gotten, he could no doubt lose the ability to speak and comprehend different languages. Remember what happened at the end of Ground Zeroes?

Shrapnel to the head.

Shrapnel to the head.
Yes, we seen it in screenshots and videos that Big Boss has gotten some shrapnel to the head after the death of Paz. That shrapnel would affect his language speaking abilities to the point that all he can speak and understand is English.

I pre-ordered the PC version of The Phantom Pain because, good or bad port, it has positive aspects either way. If it's good (which it probably will be given that the basic engine already got a lot of bugs worked out with Ground Zeroes) then that's a win, but if it's bad then I get to make a bunch of "THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE!" jokes with the rest of the internet while I wait for it to get fixed, so also win.
