The bike is called Vi-O-La because Metroid Prime has been Vi-O-Lated.
Everything just so mid... Viola instead of a Hunter-class Gunship, Viewros instead of Elysia, and perhaps most disappointing, uninspired music instead of generational greatness.

Metroid music has been on the mend for a while actually... Find me one solitary theme from Prime 4, FedForce, Other M, Dread, or Samus Returns that even comes close to topping the mere title theme from Prime 1. Yamamoto clearly had a unique vision with the Prime scores, like old school alien sci-fi combined with X-files ambience and tense droning. No other OST sounds quite like the Prime soundtrack. Like Marty and Halo, the second you hear the theme you can only think of one game.

Out of curiosity, what score/10 would you give it to skong?
Haven't played hollowknight, I feel repelled from games that have obnoxious fanbases, I don't hold it against the game it just turns me off from trying it. I actually own hollowknight its just getting pushed further into my backlog along with Fallout: new vegas and Undertale.

Nintendo fanboys as a whole have been super upset since the switch 2 launch and go into full overdrive the moment any criticism or shit talking is lobbed against nintendo
only other fanboys I can think of that are on this level is snoys but I think nintendo fanboys may be even more autistic

Once again this meme is relevant.

This must be the power of nine years of development.
MP1 was like 11 months of active dev. Crunch can make good games, as long as you pair it with insane deadlines and talented people.

Just dive in and pretend those dipshits don't exist, it's a single player game and it explains itself very well, worst case you can wiki some shit or look at some maps. I had no idea it was a tranny game until I saw /v/tards complaining about that. The game makers are basically all white guys and presumably straight based on how talented, empathetic, and dedicated they are. My only real criticism of hollow knight is that like 2 of the secret areas are hard to find without seeing them on a map, and path of pain is a bitch to get through It's fast, tight to control, the narrative is told in spare, dignified ways, and it's just big and challenging in a way basically no other metroidvania game is. It's all I want out of a game basically, to not annoy me and to demand high levels of execution with a great degree of flexibility in approaches. Silksong is the next level up from that. It was good at least I got to play a pretty close to perfect (to my taste) game on Switch 2 in its launch year. Mario Kart World is cool, but it'll need 2 - 3 rounds of DLC to really stack up against 8D, and Kirbo Air Rider is cool but I'm sinking my teeth into it gradually. I'm sad I won't be buying MP4, I really liked Retro, DK Tropical Freeze is an incredible game, and even if MP3 wasn't as good, it was still pretty decent, and was something besides the same thing for the third time. Now the studio is dead to me.

Nigga defending the "paywalled ambient music" are fucking consumers. The amibo by itself isnt the problem, is the future implications that Nintendo could start executing. Today is just ambient music, tomorrow can be the addition of characters, content etc behind an amibo that can be scalped which means that you, yes you, will have to pay double ot triple just to get access to content from the game.

Just buy an NFC gadget that bypasses it, bro. Also, that's like, theft or something, bro.

I think I'm done with this generation before I even play it, and that almost makes me sad.

I've noticed any argument you make against any consumer like: "by supporting this, you're enabling them to make things far worse"
your argument will be ignored, and the only response you'll get is "that's just the slippery slope fallacy"

that's it,
the argument ends with 'I saw a picture about fallacies once, that means you're wrong'
instead of thinking how bad if being forced to buy shitty toys to unlock the most basic features becomes the new normal.
they're just thinking about buying all those toys, and can't ever imagine a world where you wouldn't be forced to buy a toy to unlock an autosave feature.

Their brains are just wired different,

BREAKING: D-list VA should keep her mouth shut.
The interview is of fucking philosophy tube (there's actually a Thread on this site about this guy if anyone is interested) this fag will really say whatever for clout :story:. I know you don't give a shit about Metroid Oliver, go back to being a failed actor and trying to suck hontra's dick and leave my video games alone.

Watched a 10 hour playthrough of this game, holy shit is it boring. None of the enemies in this game come close to the cool and menacing designs that the Ing had in Prime 2. I was actually curious about what they would do with Sylux, cause he had next to no characterization in Prime Hunters.
I find it weird they didn't bring up Weavel, who out of the cast of hunters from that game is the only one who's an actual space pirate.

Anyway what could have been interesting is Sylux's relationship with Samus, since as we find out he's a former Federation soldier who I guess she failed to help. This is visually shown and never elaborated upon during the final boss so it feels like an after thought.
The brief relationship Samus had with the hunters in Prime 3 is wiping the floor with Sylux.

Honestly being trapped on this stupid planet with a group of other shady Bounty hunters instead of the retards we ended up with would have been way more interesting.
I guess at the very least now Samus has her own Mario Kart vehicle.

Also we didn't once get to have an Akira motorcycle fight with Ridley, or better yet race against him while he rides his own signature Ridley Mobile(patent pending).

Ill admit im not the biggest fan of Metroid so i dont know all the lore and such and only played Metroid Hunters(the ds one) and a friend lend me Dread. Was excited when they first announce MP4 because i like Dread and i find Samus to be a cool character. Seeing the hard decline i would rather just go back and play the older games via emulation. I cant imagine how actual fans that have sticked with the series feel with Metroid Reddit 4.

There should be a law that says "For every retard that wants Samus to be a without providing an actually, a canonically transgender character is untrooned/unpooned".
Think about the endless positive potential of this.

I am not gonna spend money on this, but what I heard is that, redditor aside, its a good game but also a bad Metroid game, which gives me Fallout 4 vibes, and that's a can of worms I don't want to open, especially since I withnessed that clip of season 2 for the new series and it was also written by a redditor.

If you're going to emulate it anyway I would recommend playing Fusion and Zero Mission on the Gameboy. They are fast, tight, perfect games that will show the appeal the series has.

Tonight, I played from where I left off to the part where you finish turning on the power in Volt Forge for the bike. The plant boss was pretty fun. The Viola tunnel that leads into Volt Forge had me wanting the Speed Booster ability when it shows Samus start running down the tunnel. Volt Forge itself had some nice brain teasers to get back to the top once you turn the power on. Myles still chats periodically on the radio since I left Fury Green, but it was about once every 20 minutes or so (but, again, I’m playing at a slower pace than probably most).

I forgot to note this last post, but the mouse controls took some tweaking in the settings to get the sensitivity where I like it, but it’s been good since. I just need a mouse pad for my living room to make the glide smoother.

Still having fun, but haven’t actually gotten on the bike yet, so I’ll report my thoughts when I play around on it for a while.
Play session #3. Played through the rest of Volt Forge, drove around in Sol Valley, and retreaded Fury Green. The teleporting psybot was a neat challenge that I hope they expand on later. The shield bot gave me a chance to use the control beam to circumvent its protection. Psychic morph ball bombs to attack are cool, but the set up takes a little too long. Fake Sylux was okay, but a bit simplistic. Hopefully the actual fight ramps up. The boss was good and pushed hard than the first boss, but I want to see a boss that pushes you to use more abilities or give you an advantage for exploiting a weakness creatively.

Now onto Viola. While the context of the test run makes sense, I was definitely not a fan of the execution. It felt like I left Metroid Prime 4 and entered a stealth pitch for Metroid Prime Racing or something. As for actually controlling Viola, I was afraid it was going to feel like controlling the Skells in Xenoblade X, where it feels floaty and lacking in physics, but it feels surprisingly good to move it around. Attacking is a little lame and would rather have Samus shoot at enemies herself, but maybe I’ll be surprised at the application at some point.

Sol Valley is a desert. Not a lot to talk about, but I’m interested in seeing how some of the points of interest work as I get more abilities.

So far, so good. Not sold on the introduction to Viola, but I’m otherwise invested at this point. Even Myles has slowed up on the radio. In about two hours, I only heard from him twice, once to acknowledge I found a key after leaving Volt Forge and once to recommend a place for me to go to next.

I think the funniest part of all this is all the nintendo fan boys upset that there are people who don't like the game and are criticizing it. They keep screaming that it's an 8/10 game! What? 8/10 games are bad now? Yes. Most games that are tent pole games have massively inflated scores. Since when did people start trusting and believing in game journalists?
And even if an 8/10 is an actual 8/10, why the hell would I play it over a 9 or a 10? Gaming is time comsuming enough that the only moment I play something that doesn't have rave word of mouth is because it's something specific that tickles my tism.

Consoomers are not people and nothing is changing my mind.

Funny that it's the "fallacy" that has an amazing batting average to how constantly it's proven correct.

More on topic, saw Frogmire's video and it looks fucking wretched. Best I can say of this piece of shit is it's making me want to finally try MP2.

I am a sperg that prefers the original NES game over the remake, but I agree that zero mission is just a superior entry to the franchise, also it includes the original game in the cartridge, so it's pretty much the best remake ever made.
Also, sorry but Super Metroid is, at least for me, the best game of the series and one of THE greatest games of all time, But I still think you shuld play either the Metroid or Zero mission before trying that.

I believe a mediocre piece of media is thousands of times worse than a shit one, because you are gonna forget that mediocre garbage and its success promotes for the creation of more mediocre garbage, while there's a lot to be earned from shit media, you can analyze why it failed and what to do to prevent future failures, you can appreciate it unironically, even salvage it or imagine a "what if" scenario for how you would've done it instead.
I take a thousands Batman & Robin, Yiik or sonic06 over a single unislop game.

I don't trust frogmire due to how shit his Silksong review was, also I think he's kind of a grifter and the fact that he posts videos so fast after release is beyond suspicious and prone to errors, but he does it anyway because it's the easiest way to profit.

Exactly, especially zero mission which gives the player ample understanding of shine sparking, which you need to understand if you want to play Super well at all.
