Any thoughts on the good kat fight phase of the creator?
Imo its alright on lower difficulties but complete horseshit on impossible

Huh, funny that the game accounts for that
In theory, the game is built around you succeeding most of the time, but sometimes RNG just fucks you.

Upgrading him, as far as I can tell, does near-nothing to salvage a lost run. At best, (at level 2 for me), he offers one item, along with money or catfood (both which I dont need) from the lost run. Nowadays I level him by feeding him dead cats from my fight room lol.

Max level he can salvage furniture/rare furniture boxes and meteors.

His repeat quest gives you disorder syringes. Most notable are Tourettes, Autism, Down, and Immortal (that with injury immunity makes your cat literally immortal)

Or so I read on the Wiki. I haven't unlocked him either.

Exit the fight before doing anything if they rolled depressing and shuffle your items around, it should reset their modifiers.

The trick is getting at least one cat to go first. I found the most consistent strat is to have a cat with an instant kill move/gun and have them go first

Spoiler: spoiler-laden thoughts
I don't find Crater Maker hard, but I can agree they are a pain. They are much more of a threat when you don't know their abilities, though you can always guess for devour.
For Spewer, Butcher can technically be used but that's still not great.

Stacy is a complete knowledge check IMO. You can screw yourself over (like picking retaliatory attack with a melee focused team), but once you understand its not a huge deal.

Chubs and Nubs can be a pain but as far as I was aware, they are blind so they just kinda attack around. One of their retaliation isn't even that bad because its a lobbed attack I believe. Boris hasn't been too bad for me, but I'm sure that can change.

Gambit I haven't had a hard time so far, but I know its just one bad roll in a row and that will change.

Mini-bosses normally seem to bounce between laughably easy, quite annoying but not hard, or quite hard.
Also, Pyrophina is coming. Am I supposed to know something in advance or it's simply a fucking dragon that's gonna burn everything?
From what I know of people who've lost the fight, keep in mind:
  • Its a giant fire lizard. You should probably bring water.
  • Explosions deal fire damage. Pyrophina is immune to fire damage.
Also wich side are you kiwis? Pyrochad enjoyer or Cuckratana fan?
I would've rather had Pyrophina but I hate the Moon so much.

Even my recent run that had a cat that could one-shot anything, the moon was annoying because it dealt electric damage. Some fights my cat was just useless (though I guess same thing can happen in the Bunker).

Y'know how all the classes have minibosses themed after them? Arthur's the Jester equivalent, and until Gaylel Glaiel nerfed his Metronome pool he had access to every class spell in the game, including the aforementioned Split The Atom, We Are One, and Become Entropy. Now he no longer has access to those.
What the actual fuck? When was did that happen? Because as recently as last week (maybe two weeks ago?) I had to savescum at the lab since that asshole got "we are one" and the fight slowed to a crawl (then my fighter went berserker and killed my hunter before exploding so it was unsalvageable)

The Arthur nerf was around March 18, so that encounter probably happened right before the update dropped.

Went back to finish that bugged Flatline run I mentioned and the repair bug got fixed in the last update, although you can still abuse shoe polish to get a double use out of your once-per-battle equipped item every turn for free. Is the Tyler in the room with us right now?

Landed on a comically good combo though. Flatline was on a thief, he rolled the 'backstabs always crit' passive at one point and a cleaver dropped during the run. The hardmode fight vs the throbbing king started with him running behind king and using cleaver for a 135 damage crit, flatlining himself and then immediately having the shadow copy cleaver again, shoe polish and then cleaver a third time (all crits) dropping king to ~90hp. I think the fight ended on turn 4 because of the mobility gimmick of the second phase, but overall it trivialized it.

...well, depending on who you kill first, there's a literal nuke attack. So be weary of that

...cratermaker ate pyrophina
what the fuck
her collar is gone now, and- the fucking crater maker
ate
500hp pyrophina
