Spin to win+ was fun with +1 reach mutation. 5x5 area twice hitting basic chopped trough grouped enemies like they were nothing.

okay, okay, maybe necromancer doesn't suck. in fact, has anyone mentioned the zombie kittens are based off MEOW from cyriak? i'm not going back to look
nah necromancer still sucks. any momentum is gone once you reach a boss

Funny flavor things I've noticed:
* You can pet your cats in the class/inventory window. Cats will purr, but human VAs will sound... aroused?
* Not sure if all cursed items, but Sonichu medalion will not be removed once the adventure is over (aesthetic only?)
* The music in the house will often be intrerrupted by a radio announcer. When Guillotina is coming, she will sometimes request the radio station to sing songs (or could have been a coincidence)
* Druids with the Encore ability will sometimes meow in tune with the level music

I just tried necro for the first time and it has insane debuff abilities. Use the trait that doubles debuffs to random enemies with the spell that inflicts crazy debuffs to every enemy at once and enemies just shut down and melt

I had my cursed scab be retained as well. Not aesthetic btw, if you use the cats in a house defense you will see them again.

I think my personal biggest bugbear is that the game’s start is too slow. specifically, I mean the jump from 1 cat for a first upgrade to 10-25 cats for a second is too much across the board. A lot of people seem to be having a good time with the breeding once you have three rooms and a food stockpile and all this other stuff, but getting that in a reasonable time feels like it requires just feeding every cat you get to the pipe immediately for way too long. A few five-to-upgrades would go a long way.

I agree in that the game seems to expect you to suck and is slowed down because of it, especially Butch and ??? (although the latter is fine since you don't need him if you don't suck, but he's still kind of confusing for anyone who doesn't unlock him for tens of hours). Butch always seems to expect me to be way behind where I am, like you're meant to really bash your head against every area.

On one hand this makes sense because if you watch Edmund's streams, he kinda does suck huge ass at his own game--which is kinda cool; I totally endorse making a game for yourself that can surprise you and keep you engaged personally, that's sort of rare for a dev.
On the other hand if you compare it to Isaac and just chill, there's not really any rush. That game has a much simpler structure and I still have hundreds of hours in it; it's all about the fun of individual runs. Mewgenics having much more in-your-face progression systems makes you wanna blast through and get everything, but it doesn't feel like you're meant to do that and you don't really need to.
Mostly you get stuff in the time it takes to get the resources to use them anyway. Like you need cash for food boxes and in the meantime your shitstrays get old for free, the runs that get you that cash give you veterans for your house, etc (getting to 50 for 4 rooms is tough but trust me, 3 is plenty). It's a hint that yeah, if you can't really breed yet your cats suck anyway, flush em all and don't get attached.

if your tank has the Eat rock ability he can use it on
The Man on the Moon
I love this game shout out to Spike for being brain dead and eating rocks

Funnily enough, your tank can instantly die/get eaten by the rock monsters in the Crater if they have the Rock Affinity passive skill, since they're considered a rock... guess how I found that one out *sigh*. They can also be picked up by Amoeba and get levitated by Rocky Bobo's Rock Song too.

Honestly, I would be mad at this game, but I can't help and feel immense joy when I see something so dumb and be like "Wait, that's how it works!?". It makes you feel that you can actually defeat your opponent not by raw stats/spells, but also just using your environment/skills in a clever way.

One of my favorite examples

Is where I managed to beat Pyrophina by turning my entire house into a giant swimming pool with the Mage's Whirlpool+ spell (create a large area of water tiles, confuse any enemy hit by the spell). She could only do 1 damage because most of her attacks involved fire, and to top it off, most of my team was equipped with Water Bottles, and could heal 5 HP every single turn no matter what.

I felt so big brained and it was honestly one of my favorite gaming moments of all time, because this straight up feels like a story of a D&D table session, not a videogame.

There's just something so magical about Mewgenics man, every run feels like something organic and a story to tell.

Super happy that this sold a million copies and Edmund didn't cuck and remove "problematic" meows. Wish that every developer was like Edmund instead of hyper focusing on every random social media criticism like most indie devs (and hell, even AAA devs at this point) do.

A video i'm watching points out that the necromancer is actually pretty good at being a tank if you think about it, they're pretty beefy and have spells that let them keep interacting with the world after they die.
Yea bit the problem is, necro has like 3 good spells, 5 mediocre ones, and the rest are useless or plain bad. While about 2 spells are bad on the tank (not bad bad, just mediocre)

He lacks the CC the tank has and, while he makes up with regen/disposability, he's nowhere near as beefy as the tank. Tanks have many mobility and damage dealing spells too.
