Will it be better or worse than The Binding of Isaac?

I started using druid more thanks to this thread, and I'm very happy I listened to y'all. I had a druid with the spell to summon 5 baby squirrels, and I had a cleric with "thou shalt not kill". I was on Johnny, and I surrounded him with about 10 baby squirrels. Initially, I thought the cultists would set them off, but no. He had a brain blast.
A cleric with "Thou Shalt Not Covet" (enemies drop a pickup when hit by abilities, two pickups with the upgraded version) and a thief with "Loot Hoarder" (collect all pickups at the end of a battle) is also hilarious for money farming and clearing out Tracy's shops every adventure.

I learned that spiders you spawn from items will burrow into your downed cats if they are in the way of an enemy and kill them next turn. I'm starting to think, between this and my mishaps with the schizo cat, that only the pet rock ability is viable at this stage for me.

Leeches will do the same if there aren't any enemies in range. Guess how I learned... :(

Does anybody know where/if backups of game saves are stored? My entire party got overwritten by its worst member in the run's first event and I am fucking furious, I spent almost a week breeding one of those cats and only got to use it in one fucking battle. For reference: I grabbed my copy off of fitgirl.
I know where the game files themselves are stored, but I can't make any sense of them.

EDIT: btw, before anyone asks, I'm not kidding. I also tried ragequitting and it didn't help. What a way to learn that the game autosaves after every event.

The entire fucking point of this run was to get multiple classes to one specific location. I cannot stress enough how much I am tardraging rn.

EDIT 2: I found the backups I'm reverting this shit
IF YOU FIND A PRINTER IN THE DESERT, DO NOT USE THE FUCKING COPY BUTTON unless you actually want this to happen to you for shitposting purposes then go ahead (four druids and four crows is probably OP but for god's sake WHY COULDN'T IT HAVE HAPPENED ON ANY OTHER RUN)

EDIT 3: can also confirm that
you don't get reprimanded for save tampering so if you get particularly butthurt then go to C:.\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Roaming\Glaiel Games\Mewgenics\[Steam Numeric ID]\saves, rename one of the backups to "steamcampaign01.sav," remove any backups that happened later on, and have fun

Was this after "succeeding" or "failing" the copy function?

Sounds kino ngl
It is in almost any other context
That is part of why I am so mad
I could’ve had an 8-unit squad as default
but it just so happened to overwrite my prized pussy
that is unacceptable and so it can no longer be

“succeeding”
Okay, because I got a variant where the machine printed a copy of my cat instead, so instead of overwriting everyone, I got a AI-controlled clone instead for an effective fifth cat.

Do you get to keep the copies as normal cats after the run? It could be pretty nice to get 4 copies of cat with good stats/abilities for breeding.

I obviously didn’t get far enough to say, but I’d assume so. They were functionally normal cats outside of being essentially the same cat four times.

Again, probably an absolutely cracking event to roll. EXCEPT IN THIS ONE VERY SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCE OF MINE which is why I am fuming like a motherfucker :felted:

On the topic of Druid's familiars being amazing: just discovered Druid's From The Trees, which spawns a random animal familiar onto a random enemy's head, can spawn you another crow as one of the options

My experience with From the Trees was that luck seemed to influence the spawn rates on it, such that with like 10ish luck I was ending every fight with 1-3 extra crows.

Edit: Here's another hot marginal tip, wrath of god kills reanimating corpses regardless of how much armour they have left.

Just got a Butcher with Smell Blood and Swallow, in a run with a lot of familiars and a Thief that applied huge stacks of Bruise. I finally see the light, this Butcher went around eating half the enemies, and deleting the Coven in one round. Swallow ignores shield and only checks HP, so you can just go up to robots and skeletons and eat them, and since they have no HP you don't even take damage, it's busted

Another weird thing I've now thoroughly tested: you can get multiple effects that multiply another slot, but it's done additively, so if you have a passive that doubles your trinket and an item that triples it, rather than x6 to the effect, you get x4. Still strong, but not as ridiculous as you'd hope

I hate Crater I hate Crater I hate Crater

Why does this godforsaken biome exist; half the shit that exists there only serves to gimp your run, rather than actually challenge you. Damn, I sure would like the items I'm using to be randomly broken by amoebas. Damn, these amoeba spawners can only be damaged from the front too, so you can't even focus them down because not only they take two turns in a round, they like to move around to leave piles of shitty goop behind.

I just finished my first run on the crater, made it out fine but I had phenomenal luck. Had a necro with the item that starts you at half life and throws 1 leech on every enemy, plus the passive where when you heal you deal 1 to each enemy. Got to the last stretch and got the weather option for alien eggs, which the leeches killed and after my necro's first turn every enemy took like 8 damage. I also tried out tinker, got the passive to attack with weapon twice so each turn I made a weapon, swung it twice, threw it, made another one, used that one twice, and kept making them until I ran out of mana.
