This fucking game. I keep telling myself no more, yet I keep going for more runs. Somebody stop me.

I'm really confident, just from the Feel of things, that there's definitely a "director" behind the scenes like something like Left 4 Dead trying to give you a "cool challenging experience" by pulling you up when you're down and down when you're up.I swear the game knows you're having too good of a time sometimes, because I had the most perfect, just disgustingly beautiful Tank. Eat Rock, Earthquake, everything you could want for a rock eating son of a bitch. I'm on Core, I'm going strong-
Cancer from a random event. -3 to a random stat every fight, but random mutations too.
The mutations didn't make up for it. Lost to the coven in the end.
Devs have confirmed events are weighted to give worse events if you're doing good and better events if you're struggling.I'm really confident, just from the Feel of things, that there's definitely a "director" behind the scenes like something like Left 4 Dead trying to give you a "cool challenging experience" by pulling you up when you're down and down when you're up.
Cool! I was really REALLY feeling it, like it's not subtle at all. I've had so so many instances of it directly explicitly counterbalancing me. Easiest example being a guy getting blinded from an event, and then next fight, or next event, I get an item/passive to "Never miss [ranged/physical/all] attacks." That shit happens CONSTANTLY if you're paying attention, same with ability choices, it very very clearly takes into account what abilities/passives you have and tries to give you combos some % of the time. (Some % of the time I think you critical miss on the roll for abilities and it specifically gives you non-combos too.)Devs have confirmed events are weighted to give worse events if you're doing good and better events if you're struggling.
My cats are usually too good, so it becomes "Fuck now I have to strip this cat and beat him to death, or else the first time the wind blows a maggot into him he'll wipe my entire team and end the run"I feel the blood frenzy event would be better if at least blood frenzy had a turn limit or it had em spread out so i could beat the shit out of my cat, otherwise you just sit in the cuck chair watching your cat tear everything and get 99999999 turns for killing maggots.
I did the same after getting three injuries in a row from events on the Experimental Formula run. I don’t even know why or how my luck was that abysmal. I was already dealing with a bunch of barely-functional retards thanks to everyone having two horrible diseases and only one passive, alongside shitty ability rolls, so why the game decided my team needed more nerfing is beyond me. Maybe it was just because of the ridiculously overpowered Butcher I posted earlier, whom I spent three hours save-resetting to get…Started an act 3 run to get the unlock I was cucked out of by Blood Frenzy last time, literal first event, Blood Frenzy. I have swallowed my pride and downloaded the save editor just for this one specific thing
It’s obnoxious as fuck. It’s a super high-pitch autotuned voice drowning out a decent backing track. The lyrics nag you like an overbearing mother, especially if you can understand them, and it’s very clear that the singer is trying (but horribly failing) to be “cute.” I hate it for the same reason that I hate vTubers; it’s probably my least-favorite song in the game.I literally don't understand how people are hating brush your teeth

The only time i actually felt like i outsmarted the shitty madness event was on my mage i was sad that one of my best mages so far got the aids until i remember i could just cryo heal myself so every kill with him i just froze myself to burn the madness turn. I tried to be cheeky and throw him at the enemies to see what would happen but it almost whent bad (he had teleport anywhere)My cats are usually too good, so it becomes "Fuck now I have to strip this cat and beat him to death, or else the first time the wind blows a maggot into him he'll wipe my entire team and end the run"
The game counts weird things that you'd expect to be environmental damage or something as a kill for a cat, so even trying to be careful it usually ends up triggering by accident, making the cat an active liability to keep around at all. I wish I could at least have it happen when I actually have a Tin Foil Hat around

I cant stress enough how good cryo heal is.
The one time I got it and it didn't matter, it went on a support Druid who was wearing a peace necklace and never attacked anything anyway. Turns out disorders aren't shared with the crow, so it was able to function like normal, and the one or two times Blood Frenzy somehow triggered, all the Druid could do was sing to the enemies or summon a hostile squirrel or somethingThe only time i actually felt like i outsmarted the shitty madness event was on my mage i was sad that one of my best mages so far got the aids until i remember i could just cryo heal myself so every kill with him i just froze myself to burn the madness turn. ...it's not high-pitched, though? I'm a musician, and the first note is middle C#. This isn't even an opinion thing, it's factually not high-pitch. The voice doesn't sound auto-tuned, either. Sure, there's absolutely a filter, but it sounds like it's coming from a warning siren or something. Like shitty speakers. It’s obnoxious as fuck. Are my ears just hypersensitive, then? If I listen for too long, it starts hurting them. It actually grates on me in a way the rest of the soundtrack doesn’t....it's not high-pitched, though?
