Act 3 is so poorly designed.Damn, I better get my ass past Act 3 while this is still sorta virgin 1.0+. I'm just dawdling in Act 2 atm.
For mother I find that melee cats are good if you got a way to move in and out of her tumor's range, so for example get closer with fighter's leap and once you are done attacking you walk awayAct 3 is so poorly designed.

The past is a breeze; most enemies are shit and the bosses are a joke (maybe Bunga can cause some problems, but the other bosses rarely land a hit)
In the Future, Ch2 hard-filters ranged cats, with enemies that completely counter ranged attackers. But then you need a ranged team to deal with mother. So for the 2nd chapter, most ranged attackers will be near-useless, then at the final boss they will be pretty useless.

More like punishing you for not having meta stuff, you can try a stupid but fun build and it will all get completely destroyed because of 1 forced event, and then some asshole in reddit goes like "uhm listen CHUD if your team got ruined because 2 cats got ruined by events means it was a BAD TEAM and you just have to breed in all of your cats nail flurry+flow state/superluck+fist of fate" thats fucking BORING i like each class to play each of their roles, like at that point why even use classes if everyone can be the DPS-healer-range unit with instakill moves every turn.legend has it half of the development time for mewgenics was spent developing algorithms to detect and punish players for playing the game too well or for getting too lucky
The problem with act 3 is that not only a lot of the enemies react to damage and hit multiple times (like the half dogs, i hate them so much) they can also inflict syndromes wich are harder to cure than injuries and if that wasnt enough they can also inflict parasites and break your armor, that is so stupid, and their descriptions doesnt tell you about this, i have done like 10 lab runs to familiarize and i was caught off guard when one of the rats gave my figther a syndrome where he ALWAYS goes last regardless of speed, i read the description to make sure i wasnt going insane and no it doesnt tell you that, also the enemies have like 50 turns each one, all these little things pile up and none of the other stages have enemies like this, even the future is a breath of fresh air until you get zapphauser and is a skipping game until he actually stays on the board.Act 3 is so poorly designed.

You cant even grapple him like the king in the second phase, you either stun him or try not so summon anything that you cant control. He's still better than bumblefoot though.seriously what the fuck are you supposed to do against zapphauser
I've run into him once, and it was just fucking brutal. He wouldn't even be on the field at the end of his turns, so my cats didn't have a chance to even hit him.
I have something like that but for every class, if a cat does well in the adventure i give him a wife/husband, move them to the love room so they fall in love with eachother and finally move them to the roof with a mark for the class, it has guarateed that i get cats of each class with a synergy out of the box and mitigate the RNG if they happen to roll garbage.I bred a bunch of "eat rock" cats specifically to get through the moon with ever class. Because of this, I've also been taking those other classes through the rift, and it's been pretty good. I have to wonder if this was the intended way to play, breeding for specific abilities and shit.

Sometimes i throw a stray in there for variation. Their genes are so strong they will produce an all 7s anyways.
Even with that level of meta play you would still get roasted by the Good Cat fight cause THEY would have the meta strat and have like a 40% chance of going first. So you are put in a position where all the fights before that fight are snoozefests and then you TPKed at the first stage of the final boss.flurry+flow state/superluck+fist of fate" thats fucking BORING

Me neither, until I did the antenna quest run.I havent had any issues with either future or past (except if i get zapphauser), even with range units. Lord bunga only ate one of my melees once and thats because he moved and i couldnt get the monk to go before bunga, i guess if i attacked him with another cat he could have knockback them away since his counter attack doesnt deal concussion.
Yea, that was certainly an interesting run. So often you can get pretty specific abilities or forbidden abilities which can make things quite dicey. The one advantage I got was getting the Monk pseudo bloodfrenzy ability on the mother fight (on my werewolf druid), so it was really easy to cull the mother. Outside that, it was mostly cycling through anything that wouldn't have consequences.Me neither, until I did the antenna quest run.
Which made me realize 90% of all abilities in this game are COMPLETELY USELESS, 8% of them are situational/synergy only, and about 2% of them are actually good and reliable.
A lot of turn giving bots in the future are annoying too. Zapphauser is just annoying but not a game-ender. The other future boss is a joke and rarely even lands a hit.
