I've always figured it's because usually children are smaller, weaker and less mentally developed, ergo easier to be physically dominated/intimidated into submission. I don't think that's a fair claim. I haven't seen any MGTOW openly advocating for pedophilia, but feel free to provide couterexamples.
They are concerned with "hitting the wall" and the consensus seems to be this happens around age 30, but that's hardly pedophilic.

The easily controlled "partner" is a big part of it. I'd also say its a combination of lack of mental development and basic animal nature having to much say. Like they are leaning on instinct too much to make up for their other faults.

Wanting to have an easily controlled partner is a pretty gross want in itself. I'm no expert by any means but every time I've seen a situation like that, it's been rife with abuse.
I understand wanting a partner that's attractive, that's pretty normal but like it's pretty dumb imo to feel like you have to be someones' first or second. People don't start getting good at sex till they've either been fucking the same partner for a long time, or have had the chance to fuck a few different partners. If they wanted the best experience, they'd be looking for women who've been with a couple of people, not virgins.

But he does mention he was "a veteran" many times in his videos. Is known to be a homeless vagabond who had a truck apparently with many visits from some "scumbag/corrupt cops" in the US, according to him.
WAITING TABLES PHASE:
First is his "waiting tables" phase, where he basically gives some college student level of decent advice on being a restaurant waiter for most of his earlier videos. He seems well enough adjusted and it does line up with his later videos where he reflects on this period of his life and his current motivations:
