My favorite dumb thing about MGTOW's is that they put on this act that they're refusing to couple. It's like they think the reverse psychology will convince an otherwise unattracted woman to say "Wait! Don't go your own way!" so they can smugly reply "It's too late, you can never have me!" It's a lame power play to turn the tables, a MGTOW can't be rejected if he's the one actively rejecting all women!

Found this thread after searching the board to see if there was a general incel thread. Kinda surprised there isn't, but I guess this is close enough.

Not gonna lie, I dipped my toe in MGTOW-ism a while back when I stumbled across one of their videos while I was going through my unpleasant and very one-sided divorce, and their talk about how women exploit men struck a chord. But the sentiment quickly turned from "hooray, these guys can empathize with me" to "holy crap, look at these clowns." Neither now nor then, I can't rile up nearly as much vitriol against my ex-wife as these dweebs do against the abstract concept of women as a whole. And now, having survived the divorce experience (★☆☆☆☆ would give zero stars if I could), instead of dusting myself off and trying again, I'm instead supposed to just drop out of the game and satisfy my biology with prostitutes and sex dolls instead? Are you kidding me?

In particular, their complaints about how women may have goals of their own and may ask their partners to change as part of that just annoyed me. Women who are unmotivated and complacent and answer every question with "I dunno, what do you want to do?" bore the hell out of me. Maybe that's why some of them talk about sex dolls so much; they're basically door mats with orifices.

So I guess I dodged a bullet there, though it was a very large, slow-moving bullet flashing bright red.

A lot of these men get into this when they go through a hard breakup or a shitty relationship. It's completely normal to be angry afterwards and to be put off dating for a while, but instead of healing they dig themselves into a hole of "women are stupid!! Don't date them!!".

Its an odd thing, the ideal MGTOW should be living free of women and relationships instead of obsessing about them.

I don’t agree with MGTOW’s in any way. I didn’t frame the statement I made previously the right way. I was pointing out that MGTOW’s think they can starve women from sex by increasing the numbers in their movement. Clearly that’s not going to happen though. MGTOW’s aren’t popular or cool in any way. Their group is bottom feeders through and through. They think every divorced guy out there will join their cause. It’s fantasy bullshit. They’re failures and they want to seem above failure.
