A few differences from my own personal experience:

- MGTOW don't publicly indulge in the abusive/rapey/murderous fantasies that incels obsess over, nor do they constantly threaten suicide for pity points.

- While some MGTOW are NEETs, the percentage appears far higher among the incel population than the MGTOW one.

- Incels obsess a lot more over looks, both those of women as well as themselves. MGTOW sometimes fall into the pick-up artist camp, but also lean heavily on blaming society somehow being structured and controlled by women and therefore 100% against all men in everything ever, hence whey they're "going their own way" instead.

- As @Porker LeVance mentioned above, MGTOW become part of the movement as a kind of power play, thinking they can scare all those evil, manipulative women because "you're driving all the good men away!" This will allegedly lead to those evil wimmens not being able to find men to fuck/marry (because of course all women are fixated on such goals because men are the center of their existence, hello projection). On the incel side, they cling to the claim that 20% of men bang 80% of women--with all women "riding the cock carousel" from the age of 10-12--and that the vast majority of men are actually incels. Therefore, since they can't scare women with the spectre of old maidhood like the MGTOW try to do, they instead try to coerce the Stacies of the world into compliance through threats of rape, mutilation, and murder if they ever turn a man down for sex. As well, they blame all women for the suicide of any man because "if someone had had sex with him he wouldn't have died!"

- Incels seem to trend younger; a lot of the morons posting on places like Incels.me are in their mid teens to early 20s. Most of the self-proclaimed MGTOW I've run into are late 20s to older.

- MGTOW seem to be better at marketing themselves. They often make the attempt to sound reasonable, even when they're spewing total bullshit. Incels are incapable of ever looking or sounding like anything but 1) an entitled brat having a tantrum, or 2) a wannabe rapist/murderer/domestic terrorist.

There's actually a pretty big difference between an incel and a MGTOW. From ten thousand feet, MGTOW looks more like a self-help movement, whereas incels are just a massive pity party.

Incels have largely given up on pursuing women, or at least on changing tactics on pursuing women rather than retrying things that will likely fail. MGTOW may or may not still pursue women, but if they do, it will be just for one-night stands rather than "dangerous" long-term relationships, hence the interest in PUA stuff (which, motivations aside, is a form of self-improvement). Incels will claim they're more interested in a long-term relationship than meaningless sex; MGTOW will say the opposite.

Incels are angry at women for not wanting them, and they take it personally. MGTOW are angry at women for wanting them just for whatever money and social status they may provide, but they don't necessarily take it personally because that's just how women are, ya know?

A few months ago, when there was that bizarre and thankfully short-lived media wave about the danger of incels, the type of person that the NPCs writing all those tweets and articles had in their heads was probably closer to an MGTOW than an incel. That said, I'd say there's still far more hope for MGTOWs than incels when it comes to snapping out of it and returning to normalcy; MGTOWs have given up on life far less than incels have.

Can they, though? Perhaps decades ago gay dudes had to take what they could get, but surely there's enough out of the closet at this point for them to have some standards.

Also, I like to imagine that some stereotypical MGTOW could actually take the drastic step of forcing himself to become gay, only to find he can't get laid by a guy either because he still put no effort into being something other than an entitled slob. What then?

Because we all know that being annoyed by some shrill harridan is a logical justification for advocating turning all women into potatoes that occasionally give birth (which would still be a bad idea; the body's muscles would probably atrophy to the point that birth could very easily kill, or something. I'm not a doctor.)
