Michael Moore likens Taliban to Capitol rioters

The filmmaker was responding to news from Afghanistan

‘No one saw this coming,’ says Dominic Raab on swift Taliban takeover of Afghanistan
Michael Moore has courted controversy in a new social media post.
Posting on Twitter, the Bowling for Columbine filmmaker shared a picture of those involved with the Capitol Riots alongside a photo of the Talibanin Afghanistan.
Moore captioned the post: “Their Taliban, our Taliban, everybody’s got a Taliban. They’re at their best when they confiscate the halls of power.”
Earlier in the week, Moore responded to the news that Afghanistan had been taken over by the Taliban in a series of tweets.
In one of the posts, which you can see in full below, he wrote: “We sacrificed over 2,300 American lives to invade a country where Bin Laden was never, nowhere, to be found.” He also called the war “disgustingly sad”.
Earlier this year, Moore said that former US President Donald Trump should “pay for his actions” with “trial, conviction, imprisonment” as his presidency came to an end.
Moore is a left-wing documentarian. He is known for his films criticising topics such as globalisation, large corporations, assault weapon ownership, Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Donald Trump, the Iraq War, the American health care system and capitalism.

I just find it so strange how he was able to totally understand how Trump got elected but also has both zero sympathy and zero interest in viewing moderate Trump supporters (a huge amount of which attended the stop the steal rally) as anything but the next Nazi party.
It's because he's a standard Antifa reddit faggot. They're good with hate and rage, not so much with reason.

Stop voting, then you get some sympathy.

Also that "stop the steal" rally? If you were there you were a dangerously stupid subhuman.

but that's just the thing, he had the most reasoned approach to understanding the Trump phenomenon compared to pretty much the entire entertainment celebrity class. I literally cannot find his appearance on Morning Joe (or maybe something similar, idk) where the speech I linked came from (which is weird), but everyone else on that panel was chalking the whole thing up to white supremacy and nativism and he was the only one to say "you've been ignoring this demographic for the past 40 years and they're fucking livid about it".

Standard antifa reddit faggots, as you say, don't have that nuance. They parrot the media line that it's all white supremacy/sexism/#TrumpTaliban (as we've seen in the past few days). He's clearly intelligent enough to see the issue but is either vacuous enough or full of himself enough to still judge those people and be mad about the whole thing. Like at this point I wonder if he's just parroting the party line for continued access/interviews.

That is strange. I guess my answer would be more of the same: hate and rage.

America got Afghanistan'd. 4 different administrations of both parties and all of them were retarded and irresponsible. This country's inability to look outside its dumb as fuck partisan nonsense is why it's fucked. Oh and the only good thing Reagan did in his life was die by the way.

I was cracking up when Cuomo resigned and I am cracking up even harder knowing Abbot got himself and potentially his lobbyist friends a deadly disease. Why not? They're all bad people. Why am I supposed to waste compassion on shitty, corrupt, people?

Also you have an anime profile pic so nothing you say matters.
Yawn, nigger.

Because he knows that's the way it is with the left, it's black and white, us against them, you're either with us or against us, you're either Anitfa or a Nazi, he knows the moment he would dare to say the smallest word in support of Trump supporters he'd be canceled.

And he's too big of a pussy to speak up, at least Bill Maher is willing to criticize Woke.

I remember those salad days when I tried to be a moderate voice among left wing communities and they sure ran me the fuck out of town, if you want to be "on their side" you toe their line no matter what or you're shunned, that's literally all there is to it.

I liken him to grimace.

He's sneaky enough to slip in one or two bits of insight that sounds credible and insightful to most everyone...then bam, he lets out his inner Charlie Manson .

I'm wondering if he's trying to be relevant again because he might be running out of money.... god I hope so.

Come on. Comparing the taliban to a bunch of boomers in tacticool gears just isn't nice. And at least the taliban proudly show off what they've done and don't try to hurry & delete everything and blame it on antifa.

Wasn't Goebbels good at propaganda though?
Reading his biography right now and he was OK at spouting out evocative party propoganada. When he had a captive audience as Hitler was sick/afraid to come out yes he stood out really well in his speaking, the audience was expecting the OG and they got someone close enough.

He controlled the movies, plays, newspaper, and partially the radio (inter-department squabble common to Nazi's). In this he was erratic as Goebbels wanted TOTAL WAR in everything he did to put the country in a COVID like lockdown and get everyone basically on the minimum it takes to survive in order to win the war as that's what he "believed" it would take. All other groups laughed at him and Hitler humored him (Hitler might also have banged his wife so who knows there). Goebbels was a gimpy penguinesque character who was in the right place at the right time willing to do whatever it took to seize power and he was the "Voice" of the Nazi's as no one else wanted to do it and he saw a way to make a name for himself.

Meh, Moore has always been fat fuck who edits context and needed information in his "documentaries" to make his impotent points or eschew things to better fit his viewpoint.

Remember, he was almost sued for it a few times. The South Park creators hated the editing of their interview and cartoons he used in their style for that part of Bowling for Columbine. Also, he can fuck right off for that, "they couldn't be trained for different work" bit from The Big One.
