Micheal Keaton in talks to return as Batman in the DCEU - This might actually be really good.

The whole DCEU thing is confusing by this point, he's supposed to be the same exact Batman as Affleck's, not the Tim Burton one?
The consistency of the DCEU is already fucked, it’s already impossible for them to be any less ridiculous than the X-men “cinematic universe”. At this point they should just drop the notion of a single connected universe (not everything has to fucking copy marvel) and just make individual movies that only draw from the others in the series when it’s convenient without even pretending that they all simultaneously take place in the same universe.

No, rumor is he will be the same Burton Batman, just brought into the DCEU via Flashpoint

Ohhhhh okay, that makes a lot more sense and that's cool if he really is the Burton Batman.

But still, why not make a whole movie about him? What happened to him after the events of Batman Returns? What's the deal with Forever and B&R are they separate continuities?

All that's a lot more interesting than anything involving Ezra Miller.

Whatever happened with that whole thing with Miller choking a woman? Has that been memory-holed already? I was at least expecting some tearful apology video or the usual Hollywood crap about "confronting his demons".

He's non-binary, so it's okay for him to strangle a lady.

I've been saying for years that we need to get Andy Serkis and Mark Hamill to be the MoCap/Voice Acting duo for the Joker. The Joker has weird, gangly proportions and a massive head, he should be at the very least intimidating physically. Use the iconic Joker voice with modern tech to create Joker, pair him with Michael Keaton and watch it be one of the best Batman films ever made. Michael Keaton should be fighting some scary 6'6 150lb freak of nature, not an actor in a costume.

You probably wouldn't want to go full on "A Serious House" (like I linked below) but you can definitely get more creative with Joker designs if you use CGI/prosthetics.

Batman Returns is quite possibly my favourite superhero movie overall, at least from a spectacle standpoint, but, despite the throwaway mention of Vicky Vale and using the same Batmobile with only minimal modifications from '89, Batman Returns is so over-the-top surreal that I have trouble even thinking it's in the same universe as the first Burton Batman movie, which was already a bit surreal but not nearly to the same extent as Returns.

I think for a long time the official Warner Bros. answer was "eh, whatever, sure", as though there was never any clear definitive answer and there is much online fan debate on whether they are all connected or whether the Joel Schumacher films were different universes where Alfred and Commissioner Gordon just coincidentally happen to look exactly like their Burton/Keaton-verse counterparts. But now the Joel Schumacher (RIP) movies will officially no longer count as Burton/Keaton-verse canon.

Michael Keaton is easily the best actor ever to play Batman. I don't care if he's half a foot too short and a million years old, I'd still take him over Affleck any day.

Kevin Conroy is the best actor overall, but Keaton is the best actor to portray him on screen.

Batman Returns is a candidate for my favorite superhero movie as well, I just love the movie's crazy visual style and surreal tone.

I don't hate the Schumacher movies like most people do, but it simply makes the most sense to say the Keaton Batman is it's own continuity.

Honestly, this is pretty mind blowing, I never expected to see Keaton return to the role and an actual continuation of his story, I really wish this was a whole movie, but since this is something so unexpected to begin with I'll take what I can get.

Nostalgia bait is strong with this one.
Don't get hyped, kids, this is a marketing gimmick.

It's the same continuity as the Burton movies.
Keaton was supposed to be in Batman Forever but he said the script was shit and refused to do it, even though they offered him a ton of money.

Maybe it's "supposed" to be but it's very easy to consider them not considering not only is Batman different but so is Harvey Dent and the look of Gotham itself is different.

The two Schumacher film are of course the same continuity considering even though Batman is different, Robin is the same.

Warner Bros itself now considers the Schumacher films a different continuity by the way.
