In the mid 90s in high school in computer class there was a session on excel. That shit gave me a fucking headache. Hats off to the folks who get it.

It's definitely odd but it's also definitely a sport. Excel weirdos legit get super-carpal-tunnel, there's a physical consequence to it that I take more seriously than any video game e-sport. Also unlike vidya, Excel is at least a useful skill.

Now when people go to a job interview and they ask if they are familiar with Microsoft Excel, they can say they do it competitively.

I had no idea Excel was an E-sport, but I guess most of the world doesn't either.

Better yet - use Libre or Open.
