Microsoft reverses it's Xbone DRM policies.

I had a feeling this might happen. Glad to see Microsoft can at least realize a mistake.
 
I knew this was going to happen as well, you didn't have to be an MBA to tell that was the only reasonable business move. Now with its entertainment features I'm more likely to consider it, although the fact they even had the nerve to plan that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
 
Now if only they got rid of the part where the kinect watches you all the goddamn time.
Because that's just creepy shit.

If I buy one, I'm turning the Kinect towards a wall and putting cotton balls over the lens.

I don't see how anyone can support the PS4 over the Xbone now, stupid names and console fanboyism aside. The PS4 still has all that retarded social bullshit, like the fucking 'Share' button and all the stuff about how you can 'watch your friends play online!'

The difference is, with the PS4 they made a games console and added social functions, with the Xbone they made a social/tv device and added a games console. You have the option of just not using the share button or social network connectivity with PS4, where as you're forced to pay up the extra that the bundled in Kinect adds to the Xbone's price and it's use is mandatory.

I actually think a lot of the extra features for Xbone are pretty nifty, my main problem is that they seem to be the main focus for the device and require a significant amount of the resources to be dedicated to them.
 
Well, now that that's out of the way, I'm more likely to buy Xbone now. Although I still really, really wish that backwards compatibility was on the table. I have so many Xbox original games and Xbox 360 games.

This. I wish they would have spent the time they spent making the Xbox1 a social box and instead developed an emulator that could play their old games.

Cause ya know, people buying a game system likely want to play games over checking facebook on the hexbox or having kinect update their social networking pages.
 
Microsoft announce that the Xbox One will now be able to do what every other games console has been able to do for the last 30 years, more news at ten.
