Microsoft will unveil the next version of Windows on June 24th - What's next after Windows 10?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

Here's a video tour of it. It's even worse than the still images.

EDIT: also, it's been called further up in the thread, but yes this is an always-on, you-must-have-a-microsoft-account OS. Right there during the install, it says "continue with limited install experience" or something if you don't use a Microsoft account.

They've been up our asses and in our ears and out our eyes and through our wallets for 30+ years now, so I guess they're going in through the urethra this time.

just bring back windows 7....
Windows 7 will forever be known as the last actually good OS by micro$hit
Fuck this iphone smartphone clone shit they've been doing since 2013 when Windows 8 released.
How. How can you make windows any less private than 10. This is not possible.
The new version of Cortana records all of your activity on a partition of the hard drive and sends it to microsoft headquarters to see how best to advertise to you.
Now, they won't even ask what time you want to restart your PC to install the 5 billion system updates microsoft releases weekly, they'll just instantly restart your PC the moment the data is downloaded.

I wrote what I wrote above weeks ago as a joke before I forgot about this thread. What the fuck is this dogshit? How was it even remotely possible to make the UI of windows 10 as ugly as Windows 8 with less privacy or control over things you bought/own than Windows 10?
edit: haven't activated another windows 10 since it released, never knew it started forcing microsoft accounts more in each release.
It's trying so hard to be Mac. Why? For what purpose?

Window 10 says the same shit but you can skip it and then later activate it without a online account, internet is very unreliable here so being locked out of your pc because >no internet is annoying

So in short, if your M$ account gets banned, your OS is bricked.

How would one manage to do that, though?

I assume if you call someone a nigger on GitHub with a MS login, you only get banned from GitHub. Would you have to do it on the fancy new Windows Feedback Hub or something?

I take back everything mean I ever said about linux

They try really hard to steer you to make a microsoft account, but you still don't need one. The easiest way to do it is to just not connect to the internet until setup is done. Its dumb, but its still a thing. So far the only feature ive seen that fully requires one is the widgets thing I'll personally never use, you can still log into the microsoft store on a local account.

But what does “limited install” even mean? What isn’t installed?

Alright. Looks retarded, why would I want an OSX-style centered taskbarthingy?
At least it can be moved.
Microsoft-account being required is the death sentence. When Windows 10 (which I don't mind too much, actually) goes out of support it'll be the final end for Windows for me, I guess. Good thing I mostly stopped playing video games, and those I still play run on Linux.
