Manosphere Mike Cernovich / @Cernovich / "Weird Mike" - Author of Gorilla Mindset, former self-declared Alt-Righter that was too scared by nazis, disbarred attorney, pill pusher, attention whore.

I sometimes wonder about the parallels between Ethan Ralph and Mike Cernovich:
  • Both are financially dependent on women (alimony mindthet mindset and subway sandwich money)
  • Both are married to middle-eastern women (Nora is technically still married to Gunt)
  • Both have a distended gut (albeit one is from steroids)
  • Both started going gray pretty early
  • Both are prolific drug users
  • Both suffer from delusions of grandeur
  • Both grift off the "right wing" (Cerno occasionally has a Christ is Kang! moment) and associate with questionable people
  • Both are bluechecks and have outsized followings compared to their engagement on other platforms
  • Both got their big break in GAYMERGATE of all things
Does anyone else see these?

Transhumanism, as a concept, is still purely speculative and in fact may not even be possible as envisioned. There are plenty of reasons to be hesitant to plug your brain into a computer, but the connection to the spirit world angle is a new one on me. I'm pretty sure he made that up after a few hits on the bong.

Creating technology so advanced that it alerts other-worldy eldritch horrors to our presence, who then begin pulling us into their spirit dimension to use as play-things is "traditional biblical viewpoints"? That wouldn't even pass as pulp Lovecraftian fan fiction.

The grift-right, exemplified by Weird Mike Thernovich and Jake Proboscis here, is a curious beast. I absolutely appreciate how triggered they make extremely online, genderspecial cosplay-commies, but on their own merits, they are unfathomably cringe, jabbering, drooling mongoloids (which I guess circles back around to how dumb and emotionally unregulated the average leftbook/left twitter user is, that these absolute retards are able to legitimately upset them).

A /r/gammasecretkings user found an interview of Cernovich from the Mimesis Law blog (archive). The long-form and eloquent answers are a far cry from who he is today, having resigned himself to the easy dopamine-drip of Twitter. His personal website hasn't been updated in over a year judging by the comments on a recent article (S/A). It's been fascinating to watch him and other anti-SJW/MAGA acolytes struggle for relevance after Trump's political departure.

I was surprised to see his site running on AWS (via nslookup) despite his reputation as a "far-right conspiracy theorist"

Therno usually tucks tail and runs the instant there’s any controversy around him. So he slips by enough times to avoid getting censored. Plus a few years ago he was palling around with guys like Alan Dershowitz, which bought him some cover too.

Weird Mike's thread seems to have died, but he's giving us a holiday gift by announcing his return to writing with a new Substack called "The Other Side of Fear". I'm sure it will be filled with the same kind of sanctimonious hypocrisy and unnecessary hostility towards his followers that we've come to expect from ol' Therno. His newest piece is called "How to Get Blocked on Twitter", in which he uses his old tweets to respond to criticisms that he's a giant pussy with an itchy block finger who gets extremely pissy over seemingly innocuous comments on his posts.

My favorite line has to be this nugget:
I believe, as a deeply held religious matter, that despair is demonic. Unduly negative people are doing the work of demons.

It's wonderful to see an upstanding, moral fellow like Mike taking a stand against all the negativity we see online.

It was heartening to see that the vast majority of responses to this were calling Mike out for being an asshole/dickhead/bitch and I'm sure every one of them is now blocked.

Speaking of Mike's Twitter feed, this was his pinned tweet for almost an entire month:

To clarify: Mike foodposted about some delicious chicken soup, pontificated about inflation returning us to the "cheap" and simple "old ways" of thoups and thtews, only to later reveal he bought the soup from a farmer's market. A soup that costs between $14 and $22 per container. I know my depression-era grandparents would have jumped at the chance to blow $20 on a bag of pre-made soup. Mike has also said he doesn't understand how the average person can afford to eat when eggs cost $7 to $9 a dozen like they do at his favorite California farmer's market where he does all of his shopping. Also note that a man pushing 50 "won't cap" about buying the overpriced soup after his post has already gotten thousands of likes, "fr fr". Such a missed opportunity to call the soup "bussin".

Here's to hoping Cerno's new writing venture gives us all more tard cum in 2023!

Ol’ Therno’s always got a grift brewing. If he’s posting, he’s grifting. The grifts and the alimony from his ex wife ensure he will have enough for artisanal soups at the farmers market for a while yet.

I hadn't seen this before. It is mentioned on the first page of the thread but was never actually posted at that time. Apologies if it has in fact made an appearance in the thread. Apparently it went through multiple edits before being removed, as in " a friend told me about...," etc., but this is what was claimed on Twitter as the original.

That post underwent edits because the original was back when he hung out with a bunch of steroid-jacked expats/sexpats who lived in SE Asia and did all the things that entail living in that part of the world. As his audience shifted and started to get called out for it, that’s when it was suddenly some other guy’s story. I don’t think anyone actually believed him because his story isn’t written like a friend sharing a confessional and why would they pick Cernovich of all fucking people to share that with? Unless it was actually him all along. He is the type to suck a Thai ladyboy’s dong to fit in with other sexpats.
