it shouldn't be that hard to switch cameras, keep camera on mike unless he is not talking, or pointing at something on screen.

i'd say i'm more surprised by the frequent breaks but i might just be paying attention to them more because of the sickness. easily 10% of the episode was break. good on them for going so long, now if they can just increase the frequency of episodes, imagine doing one a day?

they literally have a year of coverage to go over, which is crazy because most of the current episode was of relatively recent stuff. i haven't been used to current even mike in awhile, nor the people on the pods having takes about current day stuff.

He’s never went daily, I doubt he’ll start now that he’s dying of cancer Parkinson’s aids.

Honest question: who is the new Redbar audience? At its peak of success it was a very general interest show with edgy comedy but what type of listener is Mike looking for now. I ask because looking through the show notes, besides obvious celebs like norm, Stanhope, Rogan and bill Maher. I don’t know who any of these people are, so what type of person is interested in this content and how is this comeback supposed to attract a new audience (which is obviously the intent with the new studio)? Who is going to listen to six and a half hours of inside jokes about people no one knows about? Or is it only interesting for long time BBG members now?

6.5-HOURS LONG! / Mike’s Ears / Pill update / A cameo from an old friend / Loverboy Bryan Callen screamed at by an audience member / We Watched: Norm / Doug Stanhope confirms Joe Rogan is a bad friend! / Geno Discounte discusses his rent payments and Aaron Berg rift on Misery Loves Company / Fahim Anwar’s BIG LIE on JRE / Nicole Arbour’s “Biddi Bum” music video / Dave Landau bombs as guest host on Louder With Crowder / What We Did To Day (Mikey Day) / George Janko freestyles and eats chicken / WOW! Bill Maher gets horny and loses control on his new show “Club Random” with Bella Thorne! We can’t believe our eyes! / This and much more. Enjoy!

I’d liken it to KF or when Null does MATI. Except instead of general internet lolcows, Mike has his list of comedians he laughs at in a drama channel sort of way.

I got into him relatively recently. It started when I saw a few YouTube clips of him making fun of a comedian I hate and now I find him entertaining enough that it doesn't matter if I know who the person is.

If you're really into petty shit talk( I am) then he's really entertaining. Its probably niche and destined to stay pretty small but I'm pretty sure Mike likes it that way.

he went daily in 2012-2016..

exactly, thats the appeal, Mike David does for actual celebs/people bubbling just under fame. what these drama channels like Keemstar do for youtubers. plus Mike has such a good eye for talent that he'll cover people for years before suddenly everyone knows about them because they starred in a hit sitcom/got their podcast signed for $100 million/made multiple hit songs/went viral on youtube. look at his chris d'elia or rogan coverage. if Mike didn't DMCA everything, we'd have about 10+ hours dissecting both.

the tard you're replying to remembers when redbar was aping morning zoo hard, it was a hardcore "just a hang between buddies" literally every comedian does now. The only difference is that because it was the 2000s, they could get away with a lot more edgy content than now. most of oldbar is fucking unlistenable. its a lot of mike rambling on for hours with absurd stories. if you truely wanted a best of compilation of those old episodes you'd mainly just take the half dozen prank phone calls he did back then, and the half dozen interviews he bombed because he decided to mock the guy instead. And then you'd include a bunch of Kyle lane episodes, he really brought Mike out of his shell. they even admit that Kyle was Mike's MPDG.

The guy you're replying to is more of a King+the Sting/Fighter and the Kid type retard. would enjoy just listening to a hang.

Also Mike has the most BARMY subs than he ever has, so clearly he's doing something right.

niche is subjective, Tim Dillion only has 40k subs and gets only around 500k views on his episodes on youtube. Mike is pretty great about locking his content up, and the handful of videos he has let get cliped get at least 10k views, his ones on Rogan or D'elia get 100k+ views.

plus the BARMY costs 2x as much, and because almost everything is done by either him or his wife he doesn't have to split the money too much.

New clip up on the youtube channel. The Bill Maher video was undoubtedly the best part of the last episode, it was so unbelievably cringe. Maher saying the most boomer things imaginable and clumsily hitting on Bella Thorne. The funniest part to me is how he dressed and acted, he probably thought he came off really cool. He just seemed old and out of touch. In reference to the other poster asking why people like Redbar, this clip is the perfect example. I don't care about either of these people and I'm not really interested in anything they have to say or do professionally. I'm not even really sure who Bella Thorne is besides a famous hot chick who's probably on some TV show I don't watch. The point of watching isn't that I follow these people. It's the cringe, it's the depravity, the psychology, it's the kind of people watching you can't get anywhere else. Mike finds these little things in videos that are very revealing of people's motivations and thoughts in a way that nobody else does. Nobody else would have shown this clip let alone dissected it this well. Also, I just find him really funny in a unique way. Which reminds me of another thing I like about Mike: his commitment to originality.

I gotta agree, I’ve only been watching since the Sam Tripoli Joey Diaz chimp out but I’m hooked. It’s the same reason I browse KF. I’m only actually invested in one cow, Fatrick Tomlinson, because I was part of the Opie and Anthony sub, but I still enjoy reading other threads for similar reasons to what you’ve described.

It’s like Real Housewives for Autists.

Came here intending to make an independent thread for that video by itself but thought better of it. I’m I big fan of the show and think that Maher stuff is crazy enough to where everyone should see it.

I really don’t have much to contribute to the thread, it does seem like the remnants of r/redbar2 just came over here. Can see why people might dislike Redbar and Mike, but man it probably is my favorite show online. I have a lot of respect for the show and Mike, as he’s made me laugh a lot, and I generally find it impressive what he’s managed to do with almost no help outside a small core group of people. It feels really grassroots and admirable to me.

I won’t stick around to MATI at people just because they don’t like my host. But you should all check the Maher clip either way it’s insane lol.

Yeah who would want to listen to people making fun of celebrities, that shit has never worked.

exactly, its like those JCS videos where they dissect some interrogation but instead its a guy striking out when they attempt to get laid or other cringe moments. You can tell Mike is just getting started in his fame too, that video's been out 2 days and is already at 40k views, thats insane.

JCS videos are an excellent parallel.

On another note, Mike said on the last show that Scars has more members than ever before. This obviously contradicts the tone of alogs that make it seem like Mike is on his last leg and the show is going down. Both parties have incentive to lie, but alogs don't even actually know. If you go look at youtube comments on the newest video there are a not insignificant number of comments saying things like "I just discovered this show over the last couple months and saw you weren't doing shows, glad you're back!" So Mike was gaining fans even while he was away, likely from youtube clips. I am very curious how much he is making though. In the last couple years he bought a place in Arizona, bought a new car, and built a new studio. Doesn't seem like the actions of someone running out of money.

thats what i was saying with him a-logging people pre-fame to the point he has a fuckload of tape on Rogan,Delia, the logan bros, and other fairly big names. and mind you a lot of that is only allowed up because Mike did a 180' on his opinions on clip channels in the last 3 or 4 years. there's a good decade of quality stuff youtube has not even been allowed to see yet.

he has so much content for haters that no one has even seen unless they pay for scars.

Anyone who can't handle Mike's incessant pausing will struggle through the show but Maher metoo-ing a #MeToo chick really caught me off guard.

I especially found it funny that she cried over the struggles of transwomen after enduring a molestation her entire appearance. Perfect tragic comedy.

There's something to this where Redbar clips were always really hard to find, and nobody wants to listen to full episodes. I can actually believe his audience grew cause people got bored and started spreading older clips.
