Michael looks pathetic to admit he reads this thread religiously, and of all things, it was the speculation regarding his sexuality that has the midge “spooked”. How come it never dawns on this midget that he gives himself away every time he discusses his “detractors”? While Michael insists he’s being harassed with “psychotic” messages and emails, it’s clear he’s referring to the posts in this thread. Hey dumbass, why didn't you tell your fans that you had to go looking for it? Michael can’t admit he’s actively seeking out gossip about himself because he’d look nuts, and that would put the responsibility on him. But I guess it’s easier to hide behind a victim story than it is to face reality.

I think Michael spent way too much time talking about the ”trolls” this episode. My takeaway was that the criticism really does bother him, otherwise he wouldn’t have devoted all that airtime talking about it. And if that’s how much Michael wanted to discuss my “scary” posts with his fans, l can only imagine how much time he spends thinking about me off-air. I must be on Michael’s mind 24/7. It’s sad that my posts are more important to him than the praise he’s showered with from actual fans. I had no idea my opinion meant this much to him.

For the record, nobody’s trying to ”terminate” you Michael, get a fucking grip. We just watch your show, post our observations here, log off, and move on with our lives. But you read this thread and have to go back and face the reality we’re describing, you have no escape. You’re trapped in that despair chamber of self-loathing, toxic shame that’ll keep you captive forever. Why would you want to live like that instead of getting help?

i think season 20 is the best the show's been in a few years. i randomly went back to one of the earlier episodes from this year to put on when i was trying to sleep, and it kept me up for another hour because i kept literally laughing out loud. redbar is at least the funniest podcast/comedy related thing right now. but yeah the last couple of streams have been super funny.

you seem legit insane, not sure why you thought these deranged ass posts would help your case out. also lol, how the fuck does that make any sense, that mike buying a bunch of seahawk 3's for fans who left the best comment on akaash's instagram or whatever? he's been doing this for a while, but before he just didn't even offer an award for it and tons of people still did it. so he's more of a selfish jew when he gives out $600 in inflatable boats? ok..

thought i was the only one! it's not like anything has really changed about the show since youtube kicked them, but he seems more engaged and into it. i guess youtube's content filters were fucking with his "flow state."
 
Does anyone know where the crash sound effect Mike uses constantly is from? I swear I recognize it from something outside redbar.

Man the show has gotten sooo bad and boring. The episodes originally became 8 hours long because he was sick and missing shows all the time, the notes would build up. Now he's just stretching them out for no reason, front loading the first 3 hours with boring nonsense. Even when he is doing real content, its the same shit recycled. How many times are we gonna hear that joe rogan is short or bryan callen spreads his legs too far? The best stuff Mike has ever done was the first time he covered rick glassman when he had hinchcliff on early season 18 for example. He did a long watch spent 2 hours going over timecodes painting a whole picture of whats going on in their heads lol. Nothing like that is going on in season 20. It doesnt even seem like Mike does any prep anymore Jules has to tell him what every timecode is. Starting to feel like kino casino reading superchats every 5 seconds and talking about nick eating a french fry gay. He's lost his passion for it.

Agree. He spent like two hours reiterating his brilliant Balenciaga pedo point just repeating himself. Barely even watched any clips the whole episode until the end. Sometimes Mike has an interesting take on things and it’s worth listening to, interspersed between blocks of foolswatching, but a solid two hour block if it is exhausting. I felt like I was being lectured by my dad, the same point being restated a million different ways.

Peak redbar is when the fools bs takes a backseat. I'm sick and tired of the fools, in fact I was never on board with it. Sure it can be funny but you know what's a million times more interesting and worthwhile? Literally anything else he could talk about if you ask me. Wasn't there a notable person who called redbar "a waste"? Might have been Maron. I don't think that sentiment is far from the truth. Can someone explain to me how spreading your legs is more embarrassing than spending 20 minutes talking about it? If Mike is growing tired of the fools, why doesn't he move the fuck on? I feel like the guy is scared. Like Sven said in that leak, the show is nearly unwatchable in its current state, and that's impressive because I like Mike a lot.

With regard to Jules, she detracts from the show quite a bit with her disgusting voice and vapid points of view. Ostensibly she's in charge of preparing the clips and timecodes, yet she never seems to know where/what they are, at least not quickly enough to avoid the show coming to a screeching halt. And then she keeps interrupting Mike and making him lose his increasingly fragile train of thought. She never seems to pick up on these things either, because they keep happening.

Mike's scared and neurotic. Dude's afraid of his shadow. Who in their right mind builds a studio like that just to sit there? What's the drum set for? Of course, he's too scared to even stand up on camera, let alone play the fucking drums. I guess when you spend two decades shitting on everyone and everything it gets a little exhausting, and the fear of becoming the fool must be crippling.

I like the show (first 5 back were phenomenal), I like Jules and what she brings to the show, I agree about fullsail, he is an off the rails schizoautist... To an incredible degree. Crazier than half the cows for sure, what a nut. Jules' ex maybe? Lol

Yeah, the show needs another form reboot for sure. Not sure how keen he is to do that now after spending their "life's savings" on that new studio but I'm sure they can come up with something.

Also, was the Mike boarding school story that he was selling for 5$ ever shared ITT? I listened to the episode of him interviewing the Elan documentary maker and can't find it despite a few mentions of it here.

It was shared on the old Redbar subreddit earlier this year, so it's definitely out there
 
The elan story is made up. He did it to try to own Fritz who kept accusing him of being a “fackin rich kidd.” His family had a house in kennebunkport, Maine which explains his familiarity and he was a fan of Screeching Weasel and stole most of his story from Ben Weezel’s experience (whom he clammed was his friend that feels Mike betrayed him which is why Ben “pretends” he never knew Mike).

Anyone who believes this elaborate story where he “broke” the system of an abusive reform school (that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars paid by his suit salesman dad and housewife gig gift basket maker mom) that colluded with Stevenson high school to give a delinquent dropout a 4.0 GPA and recommendation is a fucking idiot. Oh and what did he do with that 4.0? Go to a Fullsail diploma mill.

Towards the end, he tells the story about a member of the staff he fell in love with, who then reported him. He let the name "Kristen" slip, which would match up with Kristen Roberts according to this website. Of course Mike could've consulted the site to help him make up the story, but I tend to think a lot of it happened, albeit with some exagerrations on Mike's part.
 
His story is too Hollywood to be believable along with the ramifications of it. Also at the end of the story when an actual Elan survivor calls in Mike gets flustered like being caught in his lies and is unable to corroborate anything the kid says. And again, Mike’s parents could absolutely not afford this school (and he also contradicts himself in saying Stevenson paid for it and then his parents paying for it and suing the school without evidence) and the idea that one of the most prestigious public schools in the Chicagoland area would collude with an abusive school just make up a fake 4.0 GPA transcript for Mike as a coverup for Mike “beating” the program as “the best student [they] ever had” is ridiculous and would have absolutely been found in an audit report and made at least the local news.

I’m not sure how public schools work but I’m sure you could somehow FOIA some information about this.

It’s easy to lie about something most can’t hear for themselves. Oh, the irony! Mike did not make up the Elan story. Stevenson did not pay Elan for Mike’s stay; his parents sued Stevenson for negligence and won, so that’s what kept them out of debt.

They pre-paid Elan for one year at a time, and when Mike left a few months into his second year, the school refused to refund the remainder to his parents, so they sued them and won as well.

Mike did not get flustered when the other student called in. They traded info about what dorms they lived in, certain staff members they hated, and the different roles they earned throughout their stay.

Drew Michael didn’t question shit. He was on the marathon show itself and said nothing to that effect.

Why are you making shit up?
