US Mike Johnson Says Men Need to Stop 'Playing Video Games All Day' and Get to Work: 'They're Draining Resources' - lol. LMFAOYFNFFAFO even.

"Return the dignity of work to young men who need to be at work instead of playing video games all day."

House Speaker Mike Johnson defended cuts to Medicaid, insisting it would "return the dignity of work to young men who need to be at work instead of playing video games all day.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson defended Republican efforts to attach work requirements to Medicaid, suggesting that young American men are wasting their lives "playing video games all day" instead of working.

Johnson's remarks came as House Republicans pushed forward a budget framework that would help finance President Donald Trump's tax cuts, with plans to slash federal spending by trillions. GOP leaders are eyeing $880 billion in reductions to Medicaid, a move critics warn could gut health coverage for millions of low-income Americans.

Johnson attempted to sidestep claims of direct benefit cuts, instead blaming "able-bodied young men" for taking advantage of a program he said was meant for single mothers, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

"They're draining resources from people who actually do [need it]," Johnson said. "So if you clean that up... you save a lot of money and you return the dignity of work to young men who need to be at work instead of playing video games all day."

Despite Johnson's insistence that, "No one has talked about cutting one benefit in Medicaid," the work requirement would threaten health care access for millions, including Americans that are temporarily unemployed after being laid off.

A report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities found that as many as 36 million of the 72 million enrolled in Medicaid could be stripped of coverage under work requirements.

Trump has been promised a quick turn around on the bill, putting the pressure on Johnson and House Republicans to make significant cuts that can be rationalized to voters who stand to lose access to services, or—in Johnson's view—video game time.

You white guys need to get back to work. If you suck up all the gibs there won't be any left for the niggers beaners and whoever else the Jews and capitalists want to let in here. Stop being racist.
If you want to "return the dignity of work to young men," make the work dignified FOR the men TO participate.
The problem is the pay. The US deindustrialized post Cold War and turned into a service nation. In the past the US economy did well because it had a thriving middle class. The middle class is declining rapidly, and some would even say it doesn't exist anymore. The US economic system is based on capitalism. It relies on people making things and consuming what is produced. Basically, it needs good little consoomers. The problem is the service jobs most of the population is stuck working don't pay enough for people to consoom. So, the US economy and capitalism is failing. The price of living has gone up and so has inflation. The only thing that hasn't are wages.
If things weren’t so sanitized Mike could have just said we’re cutting back on fat niggers who abuse the system but he can’t say that so he had to blame gamers.
Gamers are the most oppressed people on earth.
Much as I hate to take away from the slapfight, I gotta ask, is this even an actual problem? Has anybody here actually known a male NEET that managed to scam the system into paying him enough NEETbux to actually live? Basically all the ones I met live off their parents' largesse. If their parents want to fund them, I don't see what business that is of the state's, unless you want to make the argument that the state should ensure everyone is being 'productive', which sounds like a really shit idea. We know who's actually hoovering up all the welfare money, but Republicans don't like criticizing them for some reason.
The majority of welfare recipients are white people living in red states. The Boomers of the old far right used to say it was niggers. But that basically says the left is right when it says all white people are rich and privileged. It ignores the fact that poor white people exist.
I do work, but I long ago stopped putting in any extra effort or giving a shit because in the places I worked your only reward was more expectations and work.
Work culture sucks because you aren't rewarded for fuck all and why I just coast through my job it is still ultimately soul crushing.

Yes, but they still had to work part time jobs.
Then they aren't NEET's. They are posers.

A great idea, until you're spending 50 hours a week crawling knee-deep through cat shit in the basement of some hoarder's dilapidated house to reach their ancient HVAC unit from the 1980s, all while they are screaming at you "DON'T PUT IN NOT EVEN ONE MORE PART THAN IT NEEDS!"

Or for the fifth time that week you're dealing with some middle-aged pajeet screaming at you about how he totally knows a guy who can do it for half of your price when it comes time to pay the bill, while threatening to spend the next two days writing you hundreds of one star google reviews.
Maybe I'm lucky but I was able to find ways to nope the fuck out as soon as possible with hoarders and haven't run into pajeets either. Although the people running the Chinese restaurant that I frequently go to tried to get me to give them a discount on the plumbing work I did for them but I told them it's not my call to make. What I ran into far more frequently was people who clearly didn't like the price of our work but agreed to it anyway only to later call in to the office and try to complain their way into a discount. And the boss being an overly credulous and retarded boomer would then start complaining on their behalf against us, repeating whatever inane bullshit they went with, never thinking for a moment that some people are just shitheads trying to get out of paying as much as they agreed to.

Have you ever had a woman get your boss to nag you because she overheard you saying "I thought the writing on The West Wing was supposed to be better than this" while you were installing a new sink?

There are plenty of decent paying jobs outside the service industry. But if you spend your time floating from entry level job to entry level job giving the bare minimum obviously it's going to seem that way. It's funny how the people who complain about how shitty it is to work are always the same people who in the same breath brag about how they coast through their jobs giving zero fucks. Well no shit you get paid a garbage wage and receive zero respect.

Ok Boomer.

Cheering on benefits being cut when there's a sizable number of jobs that barely pay enough to let me share an apartment with 5 roommates doesn't seem like such a hot move, is all I'm saying.
Cutting bennies now would be a bad idea. If the Republicans screw with the gibs they will lose in 2026 and 2028. Trump knows this. But the Boomer republicucks are salivating at the chance to fuck with poor people. They just can't help themselves. It's why I don't like republicans or conservatives either.

This is why I avoid residential. I have commercial accounts where it’s a manager spending other peoples money.

I know the whole discussion in this thread has become focused on NEETs but are ""young men who need to be at work instead of playing video games all day" even the primary recipients of Medicaid?
He's a GOPe cuck. You really think he's gonna point out that the real "drain" on the Medicaid system are niggers and, ironically, the "single mothers" that he says the program is for in the first place?

What Mike Johnson said is geared towards a specific audience: the older boomers/GenXers and such who watch the mainstream media outlets and get their information curated that way. He had an interview a few months (weeks?) ago on Fox News where he basically said the same thing. This is all media-market stuff, meant to get demographics "on board" with the program. Other intermediaries, mostly on Twitter, will take to their own respective media markets to go along with the line from above, acting "independently" of the Administration and the Government, basically pointing that niggers are the problem and so Medicaid and Medicare need to be cut, and that young white men need to embrace the warrior spirit or something by voting Red in 2026 and for James Donald Bowman in 2028 so that way we can, for real this time, get whatever we want (we promise.)

In the end, though, niggers won't lose their handouts and young white men were never on the programs at such a high percentage to begin with. They'll just continue to parcel out the Government and sell it off.

Don't forget about the most important one - correctly choosing which parents you are born to. Pro tip: make sure you pick the ones that drive you home from the hospital in an Audi.
Lucky circumstances would encompass that, lmao.

I don't know why my post is getting optimistic stickers. I was basically saying working hard is only worth it for most people when the rewards are assured. They're not for a lot of people. Which is what people like Mike are purposefully ignoring.

Elites yet again shocked that "you will own nothing and be happy" manifests as "you will own nothing and do nothing," since if you don't have a culture worth fighting for, and you don't have any real hope for the future, the only real happiness you can create is entirely self-serving.

We're supposed to just forget and move on, but the impact the COVID era had on the psychology of entire generations can't just be ignored. You're expected to pretend locking kids in their homes while they're supposed to be maturing into adulthood and having them emerge into a fractured society flooded with their appointed replacements had no impact on their psychology. Turns out the "new normal" sucks. Turns out normal was normal for a reason.

Now you have young generations cheering on a CEO assassination and laughing when line goes down. "Why should boomers get to retire when I'll never get to retire?" after all. Have fun with the mess you made, you dinosaur retards.

That was also done for the benefit of the parasitic elderly welfare class. If we'd just let covid playout without any government interference whatsoever, tons more old fucks would've died without spending their grandchildren's money and without creating $6 trillion of pointless spending. But granny would've died 5-10 years younger, which means the country just needs to commit ritual suicide to prevent it.

I don’t know about you, but gamer NEET shutins don’t exactly strike me as the type to be on top of their health. Something trivial like basic hygiene is a typical issue for these people, so I’m not sure they’re the massive drain on medicaid that Senator Bloodfeast is trying to portray them as.
We’ve got cows that fit this description.

I think caring for the elderly is great and all but I think the obsession with keeping people long past what is natural or even humane (in regards to their own quality of life as well as the burden on their immediate family and society in general) is retarded and pretty much motivated by profit and people being afraid of death as a concept.

PL but I remember when my grandmother died and while it was sad. It wasn't the devastating shock a lot of people seem to be afraid of when considering the death of a loved one. She had deteriorated to a point that realistically we'd let her go in our hearts long before the actual death. It doesn't actually do anything for either party to keep people hanging on at whatever cost, especially if you're just going to farm them out to nursing homes anyway.
