The Conservatives with the Immigration Act of 1962 then cut this to around 50,000 a year, until 1972 when an additional 27,000 Ugandan Asians refugees settled. It remained roughly the same into the 1980s and early 1990s (although Thatcher allowed 10,000 Vietnamese refugees to settle). This was still an annual 50,000 3rd world immigrants a year until New Labour. Prior to New Labour immigration (1997-2010), surveys already showed most of the British public thought there were too many immigrants arriving. Immigration was already a problem before 1997, yet Jews had nothing to do with this.
