MindsEye - A 3rd Person Shooter developed by Ex-GTA developers.

I hadn't heard about this game till last week. He summarizes the issues and dumb shit from the dev within the first half of the video. The second half of the video he points out all of the failures coming from "from the former blah blah of XYZ studio" that has been a repeated marketing pitch in the past few years that never seems to have workeed.

Trying to blame Rockstar for burying this game with negative press in March? There wasn't hardly any press to begin with. And 90+ minutes of intro/cutscene/etc. to try and get people past the steam refund limit? Jesus christ.
The game failed at trying to fool everyone. Most people with brain knew it looked terrible from the beginning and it was definitely noticeable when the devs release gameplay footage a few weeks before release.

Even the ending of this game is an absolute joke, and just "happens":

This ending screams either blatant sequel-bait (which will never happen since the company will most likely shutdown instead due to pisspoor sales), or the devs not realizing until it's too late that there needs to be an ending.

And the eyeball glitches are very reminiscent of one of the Assassin's Creed games (I forgot which one), Mass Effect Andromeda (I think?) and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

And "this" is the character you can play as in the "Freeroam Mode":

Disappointing, was kind of looking forward to that one. Shows me what I get for trying to be optimistic.
Oh well, already predicted it would likely be dogshit since it looked so much like Cyberpunk 2077, I would be surprised if it WASN'T a disaster at launch like that game. Don't worry bros, just a complete overhaul and an anime spinoff left until the game gets "saved"!

so just like turtle rock did with prey/back 4 blood?
fucking hell there's more layers to this whole shit onion you can keep pointing towards as it has happened in the past.

Build a Rocket Boy: OMG people are being paid to say bad things about our game!

Also them: pay streamers to sponsor their game.

All the coverage I'm seeing of MindsEye is that it's a generic, buggy, unoptimized mess.

I cannot imagine how the development of EVERYWHERE is going after this.
Mad respect to TheProfessional for still sticking to his cosplay schtick even when playing through dogshit games like this.

Okay wait so let me get this straight. It's NOT an open world game, the story is linear. You can't steal cars? You can't kill civilians to rampage? And in the sandbox mode you play as a wacked out conspiracy theorist who dresses like a tranny, also can't steal cars, and there's nothing to do.

This is not a real game. I figured it would be like Watch Dogs levels but it's like Mafia but somehow even worse as an open world crime game. This game has to be money laundering.

Modest Pelican recently played the game, & it's basically an abridged version of what's all wrong with it.
you know what would be funny? a mod porting mindseye assets to GTA5 enhanced, that would be fucking high larious but good luck doing that within the timeframe that is "taking a big shit on mindseye" to make the joke funnier.

Is it true that there is pretty much no gameplay for the first 2 hours to screw over people who want to refund the game, like KCD2? If this is the new modern trend, then lol lmao even. I mean, it would be one thing if the games were GOOD but all this means is that players will refund their games even quicker once they see what the devs are trying to pull.
Also, from what I am seeing, this game isn't even open world, like at all. You're being lead like a dog on a leash almost the entire way thru.

From what I've seen it's borderline a visual novel with shooting. You instantly fail missions if you stray at all from the intended path and when you start a mission you only have a certain amount of time to get to the objective marker or the mission fails.

i guess we now know who to blame for that exact same shit in both GTA's IV and V...

A wonderful struggle between 2k wanting to sue modders into the ground but also to discourage anyone from defecting to smaller studios.

I believe what they were trying to do was make a linear game in an open world that would be expanded post launch with user created content and DLC, and eventually I think it would all tie into everywhere with the Red rock city being a location inside whatever everywhere turned into.

Basically Minds Eye was going to be like Metal Gear Solid Ground zeros to Metal gear V the phantom pain. Because I think it is just way too expensive for an upstart indie studio to make GTAV from scratch even if you have one of the GTA founders.

Obviously they couldn't execute on the plan but it probably sounded good in a pitch meeting.

Btw wtf is up with the ending dumping you into free roam as that weird old man character? Is it a joke? Is it a glitch? I would assume they would let you customize a PC that would set you up for the everywhere online mode.

Did the MindsEye developers look at GTA VI’s lack of marketing and think, “yes, let’s do that and gather some HYPE?!” How can you have a game set in the near future and not do much futuristic crap? Even Watch Dogs was able to achieve that.
