I'm curious as to why you feel that way.
Im absoloutely shit with words but I'll do my best

Back in the old days when Notch was in charge Minecraft had a distinct style/atmosphere, and it was something that was recognisable and iconic. Even now when looking at screenshots from the game I can tell what era they came from.
After Notch sold it to Microsoft things started to change. Without him at the helm things started to slowly turn away from his orignal vision but in subtle ways. The changing of splashes, updates to textures, changes to ambient and active sounds. They didn't change the core of the game but its identity started to change. Yea some things were good and some were bad but thats to be expected. A simple way to say it is the "Minecraft is slowly losing its soul with every update"
The specific point I saw when Minecraft might be getting close to that "shark Jumping" point was (for me at least) the Snifffer mob. But I cant exactly blame Mojang 100% because that was a voted mob. But both the design and the way they implemented it made me think that if this thing wasn't blocky it would be in a completely different game. It seemed they put very little thought into how it interacts/fits in with the gameworld. It was a mob with 1 niche use. (Same thing with the phantom) But to me it seems almost out of place.
The happy ghast seems like the most overt and obvious point is where they jumped the shark. Its looks completely out of place (especially when wearing the harness) despite being based on an existing mob and the way to get it seems kinda dumb. Soaking it in water for 20 mins and feeding it snowballs? Really? I know theres magic in Minecraft but this seems kinda arbitrary.
Then again Jeb is a limp wristed faggot who allowed Anges to dictate what is to be put in the game
I just wish hatching the dragon egg was a thing in vanilla, that would have been a better mount than the discount cloud mount we got.

Minecraft's Nether used to be a hell dimension with how barren it was and the mobs containted in it were the undead or Ghasts.

Now it has trees, plant life, living mobs and more remnants of a civilization.

I'm sure when the End update hits, the dimension which is 90% Void, 10% floating island is gonna be even more lush with life.

Are there any texture packs or mods which make later versions of Minecraft look and feel more like Notch's style?
programmer plus, needs to be used under programmer art pack if you can't stand jappa's visual vomit.

that was the point of nether...

they turned into a overworld but nether now...

same shit, the end is supposed to be a barren dimension but they will turn it into overworld again.
it's like they are incapable of just letting zones fill a role, they have to turn it into overworld because of some retardation, meanwhile they still haven't fucking added mossy cobblestone stonecutter variants...

Watching Dialko has made me appreciate how much I miss the "sit around the campfire and listen"-type of videos. I saw a brief glimpse of it in the beginning of this guy's video with this frame, but the rest of the video is a bit too fast paced when it comes to editing for my taste.

What's the deal with Agnes? Even aside from her trying to turn Minecraft into an environmental PSA, she seems off when she speaks at live events and commenters give her forced praise like she's the class tard. Is she autistic or something?

I like the new Nether, the blocks are nice to build with and the biomes look cool even if they're a pain to navigate. I get that the old Nether was meant to be hell but it being nothing but a big red cave was pretty boring.

I agree that the End should remain barren, but I'd like to see the terrain take full advantage of its height, not unlike Nullscape. It's meant to look like outer space and it's all about flight and teleportation yet the large islands are all at the same Y level.

It's sad seeing 1.8 and 1.12.2 servers slowly dying, it means i'm forced to play gay nucraft versions for online support. Of course i can always host a server myself but sometimes you wanna play with more than 4 people you know
If you don't mind it being filled with those types, theres a bustling beta 1.7.3 scene these days. A little older than 1.8 but the golden days people are peak autists so at least theyre good for the long haul.

I've never been able to watch her on video, something about her just makes me viscerally uncomfortable. She always looks and sounds like she's on the verge of crying.

Is Anges the reason we didn't get fireflies?

microsoft's retarded finger in mojank, probably pegs the soylents at mojank.

yep, also why pandas and polar bears have no "useful" item drops.

Made a staircase, quite proud of my work on this one since they're usually a pain in the ass if you don't have the space for them and I've already started work on a basement/home mine shaft. Problem is the second floor is pretty empty apart from an enchanting room. Any updates on how to spruce it up?

TFW you accidentally post in the wrong thread and can't edit it so you look like a fucking retard. Anyways time to post something actually ON-TOPIC to fix my previous mistake.

Does anybody else have problems playing vanilla Minecraft single-player on PC for long periods of time? For some reason i can't play vanilla Minecraft on PC for more than 30 mins without getting bored. On console, (legacy xbone of course) it's a different story. I can play for hours and hours nonstop. Is there some reason for this? Feelsweirdman

I would say it's because nu-minecraft tries to be this vast, feature packed world with caverns, giant realistic hills, big structures with evil baddies, l o r e, and loads of quirky features that may or may not be from the player's suggestions.

Turning the sandbox game into an adventure game was a mistake IMO, at least when comparing nu-minecraft to the OG (1.8 and lower). If you treat the world as a canvas for your building project, older versions are better at it. Newer versions encourages you to do so in order to farm/store/exploit some sort of resources where as in older minecraft, you were usually doing it for your own fun.

The way minecraft handles structures doesnt make me want to build more stuff on it, but rather simply loot and ruin the place for my own benefit. Vintage Story has the right idea of having ruins that makes you think "Hmm, I want to turn this into a windmill, or a little house". It drives you to create stuff for your own amusement, and makes building farms and machinery more rewarding as a consequence.

In short, older Minecraft was more fun due to limitations breeding creativity. VS has less limitations, but it's fun due to its fruit of the loom philosophy.

you get a day to edit/delete your posts and it's been only 2 hours between your posts... what are you on?

<insert an insult in here regarding your complaint that minecraft going adventure is bad like all of the creatifaggots that have been crying for a looong time>, it's the people at the helm that are complete fucking idiots that refuse to acknowledge they are in the wrong, notch tried to cover the playstyles with his updates even if the usual faglords kept bitching at him to turn minecraft into the game that they want to play, sure he willingly ignored some complaints like the food one like a tard but the fact that he started integrating mods regarding things he couldn't integrate or bother to integrate well in the game like pistons was a good move overall, something the current soylent fags at mojang downright refused to do for a long time and are slowly conceding that they shouldn't be this fucking gay even if they are swedes, obviously they still refuse to admit that some mods could be integrated into the game to make it fun but are still combing around to see what they can integrate anyway if you look at the copper age update or even the autocrafter, were we still under notch that type of shit would be in 1.15 tops because it's a good idea that benefits everyone overall and removes a need for mods to cover these bases, fucking up everything more with potential crashing.

the entire "you shouldn't suggest mods to be integrated in the game" rule was a massive fucking faggot move from jeb and microshart because you know it's going to massively fuck up the monkeys that handle jeetrock edition because shit cheapskate skill level devs, it's not even C# being a pain in the ass and the game being closed source, it's just fucking idiots that are at the helm being strung by so much corporate tape by even bigger fucking idiots that causes everything to clog down like a shit filled toilet and there isn't a plunger in sight to unclog all of that shit.

nucraft is also shit at being adventure doe

Making a wine cellar-type room in the basement, got space for another room but I don't know what to make it, underground villager bunks/underground farm maybe? Other than that, I'm gonna make a decorated mineshaft, rails and log-supports and all. Getting wood is a pain though, very tedious.
