I'm not just referring to the content of the updates themselves, I'm talking about the way they update. It took them like 3-4 major updates to release caves and cliffs across several years with multiple patches in between, which is hell for updating mods and compatibility, as well as multiplayer servers.

Wanna play on this server? Gotta update to 1.36.4! But on this other server? Gotta update to 1.36.2.2! And good luck if your mods are compatible! And all because mojang wanted to add 3 more wood colors and gender affirming capybaras.
and they/them are still missing something, the Anchuent City portal being just decoration is utter shit.

Notch would've done something with it.

Minecraft servers suck anyways. Unless you run them yourself.

uhh... just use VIA?

Via version also needs to be updated and compatible with your specific client, and a lot of servers dont have it installed server side. It doesn't always work.

There's also the issue of creating modpacks or just simply using multiple mods at once. Since mojang loves releasing a gorillion different updates to add new flower colors, a lot of times you can't combine certain mods together simply because one only supports 1.34.4 and the other only 1.34.6. Sometimes it's impossible to find a minecraft version that supports all the mods you're trying to use together.

it does work though, the main page mentions exactly what do you need to get VIA working and get multiple versions connected together.

what's the complaint exactly? shit's known for a long time that mods cause issues especially on MP, that's why different servers like spigot, sponge and bukkit have their own stuff that lets people experience a modded-like server without needing to have mods installed on their client to avoid these issues, even allowing cracked clients and shieet like i recently did by trying to join a shitty p2w server:

special mention to sponge because of this thread, although spigot/bukkit compatibility is outdated and with regards to fabric it's pretty much explained on preddit and neoforge is another can of dilators.

'dit
VIA works no problemo for vanilla, mods is another issue beecause of the different versions that add items between version jumps, using fabric btw.

Anyone remember a YouTube vid of a minecart ride with some OG music to it. Really old one for the life of me the title can't come to mind.
Not sure if it's the one you mean but I think there was an Antvenom peaceful world minecart ride video if you want a place to look. There was volume alpha music playing I think

Oh it was an original song to a Minecraft vid. Some lyrics like "ride with me"? I really wish I could find an old bookmark. This was so far back I could never find a bookmark LOL.

Holly Molly I found it because I remembered he made a slime song.

The SS Big Nigger's problem with half-blocks functioning as water sources is revolved, I disassembled it and replaced all the blocks above water. As for the problem with the water in the under-deck compartment, I might search for a fix if placing slab blocks doesn't work, and even then that slab's would screw with block placement unless I get a mod which I honestly might.

I remember being mad AF when the abandoned libraries didn't actually have readable books you could salvage.

So. Much. Potential. Wasted. People were modding in books that had 2 pages open at once, books that supported external images, and the devs did jack-all.

And it only got worse with each update. We now have 2-3 (IIRC) distinct styles of construction indicating at least 2 different major lost civilizations and there is still no lore or artifacts from them.

Now with Microsoft's engagement with AI and CoPilot, they have no excuses NOT blurping out prompts and churning the product into lorebooks. The Mineycrafta stans will slobber it up and defend this poor little indie company for daring to use evil capitalist Jensen Huang technologies.

Inb4 the AI kills itself than deal with getting the approval of the 500+ unneccesary Mojang employees.

I set sail on the now renamed SS Niggers-Can't-Swim (now visible with shaders, turns out the problem was with Nvidium) but used up all my eyes of ender, luckily the stronghold is rather close by, about 2000 blocks to the north of my base right by the coast of a rainforest biome. I installed a mod that overhauls strongholds and it really makes them feel like, well, actual strongholds.

Tombstone, was also present in the Mausoleum I mentioned earlier. I also came across a jungle temple near by just to the east by the coast, it had a bunch of traps and I think I broke the last one, it was an emerald in an item frame over a cauldron placed on a statue, so I broke the emerald and caught it before it fell in and broke the cauldron, finding a bunch of redstone undernearth and a chest with like 18 emeralds. There were some diamonds too I think, I found some armor trims in the temple, some in ship wrecks, one in a hidden treasure I believe, and the rest in a small stronghold library.

Nearly ran out of torches, but this food storage room had some sticks and coal in the barrels so I was able to craft nearly a full stack. Some creeper spawned and blew it all up though, fucking nigger. There's another one though, so I won't have to reconstruct it from memory.

There's also a huge ass library, but not many books in it. As for the End Portal room, it looks pretty nice, but I need several more pearls before I can activate it. The stronghold is absolutely MASSIVE though, and mobs spawn even in areas I could swear are lit up enough, which is a problem since I intend on renovating this in the future and making it into a base with a topside elevator entrance.

What's really funny is they could outsource it for FREE. There isn't a single writer out there from seasoned professionals to talented high school fanfic writers who wouldn't trip over each other to have their name(s) in the credits.

I've burnt through my entire supply of stone replacing all the mossy and cracked stone bricks in on the bottom floor, there's still the scaffolding supports at the top and the pillars on the second floor + plus the floor there to go. I'm gonna need to get some XP to repair my pickaxe however, but it's coming along nicely, will need more lighting however.

I lit up the whole area, fixed the second floor too. Next are the various hallways and stairways. Will post more soon.

Anyone remember 2b2t? Used to watch videos about it, but would never touch it with a 10 foot pole. Thinking back, it feels a bit cringy to act like it had "epic history" when it was just kids/teens griefing each other with hacked clients. I played a mostly-anarchy server once (you couldn't use hacked clients and it had some QOL commands like /home and /spawn) and it fun, most of the players were surprisingly friendly.

Microsoft Mojang has released a new update to Bugrock, claiming to have fixed some of the major glitches including memory leaks, and the “pink glitch” where the entire screen slowly turns a bright shade of hot pink, as well as a glitch where the game becomes unplayable if your mouse drifts over to your other monitor.

It’s still the objectively worse version, though. The game is still set up to siphon as much money out of its child player base as possible, and that’s evident when you look at how the marketplace button is in the spot where the settings menu used to be, how Minecoins are now purchasable on Minecraft.net, and how the marketplace is filled with low quality trash that cannot be refunded after you purchased it with no “are you sure you want to purchase this?” dialogue box. It’s very predatory and it’s the exact thing people worried would happen when Microsoft bought Mojang.
