Microsoft Mojang has released a new update to Bugrock, claiming to have fixed some of the major glitches including memory leaks, and the “pink glitch” where the entire screen slowly turns a bright shade of hot pink, as well as a glitch where the game becomes unplayable if your mouse drifts over to your other monitor.

It’s still the objectively worse version, though. The game is still set up to siphon as much money out of its child player base as possible, and that’s evident when you look at how the marketplace button is in the spot where the settings menu used to be, how Minecoins are now purchasable on Minecraft.net, and how the marketplace is filled with low quality trash that cannot be refunded after you purchased it with no “are you sure you want to purchase this?” dialogue box. It’s very predatory and it’s the exact thing people worried would happen when Microsoft bought Mojang.
This update lead to people loosing their worlds. I suppose it serves them right for trusting in Macrojew product.

It have been stuck in development hell for 10 years and it is minecraft ripoff - both of those things do not bode well for it being any good.

Anyone remember 2b2t? Used to watch videos about it, but would never touch it with a 10 foot pole. Thinking back, it feels a bit cringy to act like it had "epic history" when it was just kids/teens griefing each other with hacked clients. I played a mostly-anarchy server once (you couldn't use hacked clients and it had some QOL commands like /home and /spawn) and it fun, most of the players were surprisingly friendly.
From what I know, one of the most infamous members of the server (PopBob) is a Troon now.

So it kinda speaks for itself:null:

I can't think of anything more representative of nucraft than people making videos like this, railing against the game's most iconic enemy, because Jens Soyensten said "hurr durr enemies that do more than walk at you or fire a projectile are bad actually."

Anyone give a fuck about Hytale coming back?
No?
Combat looks spongy as hell.
I've harped on Minecraft-likes before so I won't sperg out again but I want to note that a lot of these games that try to be "minecraft but betterer" fundamentally misunderstand what people want out of a game like Minecraft. A lot of the fun in MC comes from exploring the world or interacting with it to accomplish a long-term goal. The direction is decided by the player but the game provides system that facilitates those goals.

The primary complaint of the playerbase is that there hasn't been any new goal to go for in a really long time that's worth anything; still building the same farms, still fighting the same bosses, etc. Everything else has been secondary bloat layered on top. A lot of these games also decide to tack on their own mandatory goals (explore this dungeon, beat this boss, do this or that) which kills replay value because now instead of player-made goals, you're just doing the things the game wants you to do like every other game, and you have no reason to interact with the world by building stuff because now you get all your stuff by doing pre-generated content and there's no reason to settle down.

I looked up gameplay footage of Hytale and besides the neat graphic fidelity it looks like it's just yet another "what if minecraft was an RPG?" style thing. We already have this game. It's called Terraria and it's awesome.

I don’t understand the “crashing a pay-to-win server with duplicate glitches” videos. Who cares how a private server is run? If you don’t like it don’t log in. You’re just being a cunt.

Crash tranny grooming servers instead.

Would cause more milk, the 'tard rage of gambling children comes nowhere near that of trannies.

Well, according to Mojang's own EULA, pay-to-win servers are not allowed, which is what kickstarted those videos.

Fuck Microsoft, fuck Mojang, and fuck Jens. Holy fucking shit. :stress:

I mean, holy shit, the creeper is the epitome of Minecraft's magic. Notch made a game for fun and it became the best selling game of all time. The creeper?

He was fucking around trying to add pigs to the game. Fucked up the proportions of the torso, resulted in this. He commented on how "creepy" it was and it gave him the idea to create a unique enemy.

He then mashed his tree leave texture, and added a funky face that to this day is the most recognizable branding of the game that Microsoft uses and abuses relentlessly. It was exactly the type of natural freeballing that made Minecraft the juggernaut that it is today. And you have that ginger cunt saying that he would never ever ever make something like this because everything has to be as safe and milquetoast as possible, even though it's because the old Minecraft was so wacky and risky he gets to sit on his ass doing nothing and getting paid more than most people will ever make in their lives. If he were to try and be this fucking spineless and safe starting from scratch he would fail even worse than Concord.

Fuck you Jens, hope you fucking hang yourself so that I can piss on your grave.

This has been brought up before, but this is why I stopped playing the vanilla game entirely and why I stick with mostly older versions. If you’re going to pander to extrinsically motivated players, at least pander to them by making the goals they are working towards worthwhile. They’re pandering to extrinsically motivated players while giving them very little to actually do, aside from exploring boring dungeons. I feel like that shift happened when Microsoft bought the game and added ocean monuments in 1.8.

It’s also very easy to fuck with pay to win servers if they aren’t set up properly. If you find a dupe glitch you can crash their economy within a few days and create a massive (if temporary) headache for the server owners.

That shit is hilarious and deserved.

Microtransaction Hell usually full of Manchildren, Third-worlders, and the Chinks (after long enough) that everybody knows Microsaar skims a little off the top to ignore.

I hate to say it but I think he’s right in the sense that people would never stop bitching about creepers were they added today. A similar analogy would be like how the unown in Pokémon would be constantly hated and shat on for being lame and gimmicky had they arrived in a more recent generation, but since they’re all the way back from gen 2 nobody cares. I’m not saying that destructive enemies like creepers have no place in the game, just that our reaction to them were they a recent addition would be very different.

Same sort of energy behind why there are so many people who can't play without Keep Inventory on.

But this is the new mentality they cultivated.

Sorry, but I don't feel like having a 10 minute timer to get the fuck back to the place I died or losing all my shit from falling into lava. Especially if I'm playing modded with tech mods.

The Tombstone mod is a good compromise between keepInventory and vanilla spill. You still need to backtrack to recover your stuff but it's much more forgiving if you don't or can't make it in time. Or if you fall into lava, you'll still have to deal with safe lava removal logistics before recovery.

That's ok.

I'm just more accepting of risks in my gaming.

I prefer having throwaway kits for different tasks.

sort of wrong? because people complained about creepers back in the day, especially when they didn't drop any blocks and the OCD people got their jimmies rustled, then they started dropping blocks when exploding, then mobgriefing rule was added to allow blocks to be destroyed or not by creepers, ghasts and if endermen will GIBSMEDAT random blocks...
however it was pretty much notch doing all that, jens on the other hand was busy with his promised-to-this-day PvP Update.
some people still complain though because you can't set a amount of how much blocks are returned upon destruction and creeper explosions only return like 75% of the blocks.
That's ok.

the compromise is pretty spot on, it's a toggle between on/off rather than just trying to force one gay way, which is on par with minecraft's "flexibility".
