Congrats, you immediately ruined the video's purpose. Niggercattle I swear...

I just wish the Community Updates weren't troon-infested when it comes to Blightfall.
The new Dark Tower is neat but goddamn, the rest is intolerable and being forced to interact with Botania even more than before is still painful to this day.
I didn't know there were community updates, interesting.

My first playthrough I stopped playing when I got to Botania lol

Trying AllTheMods 10 currently after enjoying and pretty much 100%-ing ATM9 a few years ago. Is it just me or is performance way, way worse on newer modpacks than it used to be?

I mean, you CAN (or rather, could) beat the pack without Botania being used*.
*in this context 'used' is 'generating/functional blocks', mystical flowers/petals in recipes don't count
It's just objectively masochistic to do so since your power throughput will always be throttled by repeatable reputation gain being similarly throttled since the only actual generator is the Mana Fluxfield.
New totem is easier to use. It also mandates Botania use to use it without orders of magnitude more of everything else.
Basically, go into the Scripts and remove the mentions of the dynamos from them. You'll have a much better time, though i also suggest nerfing the power they make. blah blah noncanon nobody cares anyone who cared beat the pack the intended way already (and possibly in Terraria Mode/Thaumcraft Jumpstart Mode)

It's worse, by quite a bit.

I never played Tekkit. Mainly due to me always using AnjoCaido launcher or some other cracked launcher that didn't support modpacks, so I was cobbling mods together on my own since the earliest days of my contact with the game.
honestly you should, Tekkit is prety fun
there are a ton of old modpacks that are worth playing again. I'm planning on doing another playthrough of stoneblock 2.

I am asking clearly about differences in the mods of the pack. Stop being such a passive aggressive faggot.
The point is that 1.2.5 and 1.12.2 are so drastically different that even if all the mods composing the modpack were 1:1 in functionality, you'd be having a completely different experience because of all the changes to vanilla. Which goes against the entire idea of making a retrospective video on Tekkit. It's like some faggot YouTuber wanted to do the 32419876th video about how Beta was better, but despite even the stinkditch pus covered shitheap that is Prism allowing you to play Beta directly, they'd play some version chasing "retro" modpack because they find true Beta "too old" and "too janky".

There's zero fucking point in doing a retrospective video if you refuse to play older games because you're so buck broken by modern slop. Thankfully that also filters all of these faggots from making videos about Beta modding because that shit was a filter and a half, and I've went through trial by fire of META-INF and .class hell at the age of 10 while these wimps were still crapping their diapers.

Please stop being as retarded, Hexxit 1 is on 1.5.2. There are still major differences, but they're both part of the Integrated Server subgroup.
Besides that point, Slav is largely correct- even if Hexxit 2 was identical in mods (it's not, 1.12 TiCon is a sequel and not a direct port of pre-Combat TiCon and that's just one mod), the baseline is (still) radically different.
I do like that they put in the effort to recreate the Essence mod from basically-scratch in an accurate manner, though.
E: mm, puzzle piece. delicious.

Yes, and they're delicious.
E: Actually, has anyone seen a puzzle mod out there at any point before? Bit of a silly idea, but it occurred to me to ask.
Would custom puzzles maps that depends on mods for its content count? If so, I guess Adventurecraft or Portal Gun mod would count?

I love old school Minecraft, I grew on playing on a cracked copy of Beta 1.7.3 (more like Beta 1.6 since I didn't have those sweet pistons), and it makes me respect all the little life-improvements from newer Minecraft (up to around 1.7.3). I like the engine improvements on the newest versions, it's as close as we might ever get on a modding API in Java. Too bad the game itself only caters to P2W servers gamers and serial game mechanic buck breakers.
