It's a tough call, but Northstar might make the most fun to build minis. They look good, have a lot of freedom and kitbash potential, and go together easily. The big difference seems to be instead of a many single options, you get a lot of a few options so you can kit your guys with the same gear.

Yeah I've been eyeing their kits because 30 for 30 USD seems like a decent enough deal, some of the stargrave and frostgrave options also seem pretty good. The deals for oathmark on Northstar's core website are also pretty good, they're each like 83 Pounds for 60+ minis of various types.

maybe because his new game is now out so the algorithm is pushing stuff related to his name.

it's from the same guy that made frostgrave, so it should be good (iirc the multifaction and kingdom rules are great, but I might remember it wrong).
I assume it's a bit more obscure because it's rank & file which is not everyone's cup of tea (and most will probably still playing an old warhammer edition) or has higher investment than a band for frostgrave.

oh, and frost/stargrave isn't coop, it's skirmish sized 1on1 with random monsters/events and some RPG elements you carry through missions (his new game and rangers of shadowdeep is coop tho). worth a look for how he did things.

Shoot, for some reason i confused Star and Frostgrave with the 5 Parsecs/Leagues titles and those are the coop ones. But yeah, it seems kinda neat, Frostgrave as a whole seems like a bit of fun, probably a funner game than some of the skirmish slop like TC

they're all part of the whole "alternative wargame" thing that is gw-slop, maybe infinity, then everything else, so easy to get mixed up.
all solid tho, 5 leagues is nice if you just want to push some minis around and cba to deal with waac-faggotry or having to find someone to play with.
 
Any fellow historyspergs have any recommendations for 15mm WWII minis? I have some North African Campaign platoons from Forged in Battle and minis in certain poses will consistently have certain defects across different packages.
Giant wall of brass is a zippo lighter for some scale. The lying ammo bearer minis often have concave faces that lack any and all detail. It's not super noticeable given the scale but I'd rather avoid having an army of mutants if possible.

Finally did my first match in Bolt Action. UK v. USSR v. Germany. 700pts. Very fast and a lot of fun.

My takeaways
-The bomb dogs from the Soviets are devastating then the handlers become a veteran SMG squad.
-The motherfucking PIAT. I hate those guys
-I had a whole squad FUBAR off the map right at the end. That was funny and unexpected.

I didn't know what game they were going to do, so I finished up the 88mm and the Panzer III the night before, just in case.

hell yeah brother

A pro tip I love using for brickwork: get some plaster of paris and PVA glue. Heavily water down the glue and flow it between the bricks (or just brush the whole thing with the thin mix--important that it's thinned so it won't leave gloss--and wipe off the exposed surface) then pile on the plaster. Once it's dried, shake off the excess and rub anything loose off the surface with a paper towel. Boom, super fast mortar.
With that colour variegation you've already done it'll look awesome, trust me. Then if you want you can thin some brown ink and zap some water staining over it as well, but it might look too real next to everything else at that point.

I enjoy this shit more than the minis themselves so I'll stop there before I suggest anything excessive.
Though, what did you print the barrels with? If it's ABS, 20-30 mins in an acetone vapour bath (ie a shoebox) could go a long way, can't really go overboard with drums. Otherwise sandpaper. To properly honour your sweet-ass pallet.
