"LOL. Did someone put you up to this? This is a joke right?"

Made my day right there. I'm assuming he knew nothing of Chrissy beforehand? If not, that is a hell of a way to introduce yourself to a perfect stranger.

Don't forget, Colin's made up and played by our lovely Thetan as well. I think she mentioned that in her first post of this thread. She plays both Shaina and Colin in this little dramedy so yes, "Colin" was in on everything because he had omniscience in this case as did Shaina.

And that's still fucked up about the letter/note. It might as well have been on proper letterhead, "From The Desk of Mrs. Barbara Anne Chandler, Esq" for all the good it did.

I think that somewhere in her diseased mind she knows the gal-pals are fake and is actually okay with that. She'll go along with it because she knows Chris won't leave her and that when the trollsweets all leave Chris will have nobody there for him except her.
I'm not sure. Does Barb have any source of information on the sweethearts other than Chris himself? Also, she seems to think she'll find idiots who'll pay several times what her broken old cars are worth - it's common for veteran scammers to see everyone else as gullible marks.

I think from Marvin's updates that Barb only seems to value Chris for his usefulness running errands. If he was somehow unable to do things for her, she'd probably not miss him :heart-empty:.

If Chris was unable to do things for her I'm betting she'd still keep him around. To her Chris is part of the hoard, and it doesn't matter how useful or useless an object can be, if it's part of her hoard she'll never let it go.

Eh, she's selling the cars. I mean, I don't think she'll get rid of Chris, but it's not because she's hoarding him.

So, Chris is autistic and doesn't understand. That I get. But why would Barb think that a letter from Chris's mommy would be somehow helpful to his fight against a romantic rival? How does the ostensibly neurotypical person play into all this?

Well, she's not actually selling the cars. She's putting the cars on the market for several times their actual worth. Push will only come to shove if she accepts reasonable offers.
Well attempting to sell them, anyway. If she needs money badly enough (which is definitely a possibility considering the situation), she'll do what she needs to to get the money, including accepting reasonable offers.

If she knows what "reasonable" means these days.
I think she actually does know (or at least has an idea) of what the cares are really worth, it's just that she doesn't really want to sell them so she stick an outrageous price on them knowing nobody will offer, but secretly kind of wishing somebody would.

Good, old-fashioned Chris. Egotistical, manipulative, threatening, and self-centered. The clown clothes may change, but he always stays the same.

Probably to mollify him. He was clearly saddened and stressed by this development, she's the one he talks to most, so she wrote a letter.

Maybe she likes conflict, and jumped at an opportunity for someone new to bitch at?

I think it's really funny that Barb's pen ran out in the middle of writing the letter and she had to get a new one, but she was too lazy to just write the letter again from the beginning.

I always assumed that the unreasonably high price of the cars was because she doesn't want to part with them, like Chris with his used porno.

To me it seemed that she really needs around $15k, and thinks she can get all of it by finding suckers to buy the cars. Why else would she even list them if she doesn't want to sell? Chris certainly isn't going to make her.

My guess is that she either doesn't really want to sell them, or she feels entitled to the high price because Barb. Maybe both.

Well I think it's more a case of "I don't really want to sell these, but I guess I could let them go if someone gave me a huge amount of money for them."

Either that or "I am a fucking idiot who has no idea what things are actually worth."
