For some reason I can hear Chris's screaming when it's in caps, and it brings back some nostalgia. :lol:

As for the emails, good lord the desperation is about as thick as the oil on his balding head/Ramen locks of hair.
 
Is it sad that Fatty's creepiness and desperation don't bother me anymore? I need to sit down and take a long, hard look at my life and wonder why I follow an autistic transman as a hobby. (:_(

Seriously, though. Those emails are pretty pathetic. The petty insults and thinly veiled threats, make it so uniquely Chris that it isn't surprising anymore. What does surprise me is that he claimed Catie as his own quicker than he did with Megan. And that's just... ugh. Blech.

Anna does it because she's trying to make herself feel good. She gets emotional profits out of making a jab at trolls once in awhile in Chris's defense.

At this point, I don't think anyone can whiteknight Chris without a selfish reason.

*sigh* It's a little sad, but I can't give Chris any sympathy.
And he wasn't the best parent, but I feel like things might've been different if Bob was still around.

I have very little sympathy for Chris's behavior, but I do feel bad for him. Barb is a horrible influence and helped encourage his horrendous behavior, and he has had outside factors beyond his control affect his life for the worst.

But yeah, then you read stuff like this, where you realize that at 32, he is content to stay this way forever, wallowing in his ignorance and crappy behavior...I still feel bad, but its very hard to maintain sympathy. He really did treat Catie like shit.
 
Thanks for posting these emails Thetan. I enjoyed reading them, particularly the email where Chris introduced himself to Colin. It was very much the same CWC that we all know and love, and shows that, deep down, he hasn't really changed that much in the last few years. He still has the same excellent turn-of-phrase. I laughed out loud.

I just have one question though. What was the purpose of telling Chris that Colin is wealthy, and namedropping the restaurant Le Cirque? Just so I can understand the thinking behind your work.

The wealth factor was a very simple jealousy fuel, like with Liquid Chris. Colin is wealthy, so he can offer things to people Chris cannot -- like dinners at french restaurants. The name was never discussed, but it's obviously french, and a New York french restaurant is likely something so cliche, even Chris would get understand it's a privilege to eat there. At least, that's how I interpret it.

That's interesting. I'm guessing the jealousy wasn't simply to distress Chris, since Thetan said that was never her aim. I assume that it was to spur Chris on to get his life together, so that one day he can afford to purchase a boat and dine at Le Cirque.
 
I swear every time there's a new revelation it looks more and more like Chris is going "I've got dibs! No take backsies, infinity for life!"
I seriously work with 5 year olds who are more mature about their toys than Chris is being with a fully grown woman.

Thetan said it was for a social experiment. I'm assuming it was to see how Chris would react to Catie going on a "date" with a well heeled, wealthy male jerk, or everything Chris is not.

He reacted in a predictable manner although I'm not sure that level of intensity was necessarily a known variable unsurprising as it is to actually see.

Edit: Dammit, Null beat me to it.

I'm honestly surprised he didn't bring up the money he's been making on eBay as a rebuttal. You'd think he'd be happy to use that as his trump card (yes, i know Chris's deck sucks, just saying).

So, since Colin was from a rather rich family (and apparently has cold, blue blood or something) that tells us why Chris was obsessing over his imaginary royal heritage, I guess.

These e-mails are very interesting, as has been pointed out, we now have confirmation on Chris rather fucked up idea of 'open relationship'. It's pretty obvious he wanted to enjoy the 'open' bit while she wanted to have Catie stick to the 'relationship' bit.

It's simply amazing how fast Chris jumps to conclusions, hatred for men and all considered, it's still baffling.
I mean, Colin is a womanizing asshole with a cold heart who is pretty much unable to even give the most superfluous of shits concerning the feelings of catie. Why? Cause he's not Chris. That's why. Maybe I am interpreting it a bit too harshly, but in one of the Shaina E-Mails it almost sounds like Chris is accusing Colin of being a rapist who could force himself on Catie. Possibly he's not talking about rape but rather Colin being very aggressive in his flirting, but it's still a dickmove from Chris.

It was in response to him taking Catie for granted.

So, Catie and I tried a little experiment over the weekend. We wanted to point out to Chris that it was very VERY wrong of him to take Catie for granted: in other words, we felt that he should be called out on the whole 'you'll never find another guy like me' bullshit.

Catie met 'Colin' over the weekend, and spent a couple of days with him. Colin is good looking and wealthy (better than Chris) and he showed Catie a good time.

We also thought it would be interesting to press Chris on the whole 'open relationship' thing. Neither of us believe that he's being sincere here. It turns out we were right. Chris's reaction wasn't very open minded.

Chris now wants to change the rules *after* Catie has met someone who is showing an interest in her. I told her to tell him that he's free to pursue other women as well.

In retrospect, I wish I'd done a better job crafting the Colin character. The last thing I want to do is create another Clyde Cash (Colin is, as I said, wealthy and good looking.) Oh well, nothing to be done about that now.

I'll post the emails here as soon as I get them ready.

I did ask for Colin to be black, though. I think that'd make it funnier. I'm not sure if he ended up black.

This is super interesting. I really hope that we'll get the chance to read more of the stuff in the secret forum, as well as just the emails with Chris. It's really good to see what was going on behind the scenes, so to speak.

Not only that, but he also said he was "Royally Sorry," whatever that means. Somehow I get a mental image of Chris putting on a Burger King crown and wrapping a towel around him like a cape and making some sort of royal proclamation in front of the hoard and any surviving cats. Maybe he's using his dildo as a scepter.

Also, I do think it's funny that he's still harping on about being the artist and castor of Sonichu, as if anyone outside of these forums would know (or, really, care) much about that. And of course he still blames the trolls for killing the comic and website. More like he blames them for murdering Simonla, but whatever. It's still funny he thinks a "Cold Blue Blood" would care about any of that shit

And really? Blue blood? Jesus, it's like he cobbled together his entire mental image of the world from bad cartoons and 80s movies. I'm sure he's envisioning some sort of preppie-ish high school bully trying to steal away his girlfriend, while he sees himself as the scrappy hero we're all supposed to root for.
