Nostalgia is a bittersweet feeling, but one we can’t help but fall into the clutches of, whether by choice or not. It's a sensation immaculately captured by Mixtape, a soulful journey that creates new memories you've felt like you've had for years at every turn. Each song choice is perfectly matched to the novel vignette it backs, delivering a new fleeting joy with every chapter as surprising gameplay twists are woven throughout its funny, yet touching campaign. A musical delight from start to finish, Mixtape sets a new standard for coming-of-age stories in video games and does so with a masterful sense of style.

Fidget toy movie for children of COVID to play on their second monitor to be nostalgic for a world they never experienced because their own childhood was destroyed (and ideally for the developers/publishers/journalists, they should be cheering on that destruction simultaneously), not a game.

If you do not believe me, see this true and honest "gameplay" of Mixtape posted by someone who likes it, it is a fidget toy movie.

[Archive in wa+wv because that's all it deserves]

It's funny some random people who were praising the game are starting to walk back their positive talk about how "This is Art with a captiol A" because the head of the publisher is the daughter of a billionaire who supports Israel - some online randos were already going on about how playing the game "supports genocide" but some are trying to couch their sudden reservations that they really, truly, absolutely had all along in aesthetic terms i.e. Mixtape is "too white" and there should have been more rap music in it.

Not sure a three over long "game" deserve its own thread but the story behind its making and reaction is interesting to say the least.

In real life these people would be arrested for reckless driving.

this shit's gotta be some sort of carny money laundering scheme. no way it's just some rich cunt paying for their rich cunt kid to have some bum ass fake game based around nostalgia for something that never existed. what other angle could this go at? "gamers are bad because they don't like my gay ass deviantart game, you can contact me here?"

Isn't her brother the guy in charge of Paramount? The guy everyone is convinced is dickriding Trump and will RuIn MeDiA wItH pOlItIcS gUuUySs? Also hilarious how they are doing a theatrical screening for this game (sans gameplay) to reinforce the notion that these art fags don't want to make or probably even like video games; they just failed at their attempts in every other form of media.

I know people give E33 shit for the nepobabies and all that but at least they made something that feels like it was designed and made by nepobabies that enjoy gaming instead of something that reeks of 'I'm too good for this shit'.

And now for some reason I want to slug David Cage in the gut.

Stranger Things ruined the 80's. It created a weird perception that niggers everywhere and homo acceptance was a thing, despite half a century of whining afterwards.

That being said I looked at the tvtropes and I don't find any woke? They usually have big articles of faggots, trannies and Niggers in the YMMV page.

It's Depression Quest for this decade. Hard skip, and the question of video games being art ended when Deadly Premonition was released on the 360.

Larry Ellison is her dad. He's the 6th richest person on the planet, atm.

The team sent out like $500-1k gifts for the game to reviewers and influences. Probably quid pro quo. I hate to even bring it up, but #GamerGate 2.0?
