That new UFC belt seems kinda nice. I saw some tismo infographic that breaks down how all the stuff means stuff.
Do you have a link?

I’m surprised they’re changing the belts as they’ve been the same as far as I can tell for over ten years. I’d like to see them reduce the number of divisions over the next year to two women’s at 120 and 140 and a similar change in the men’s divisions. I think it would restore a lot of prestige and interest to the titles, the “super fights” and “champ champs” are just the cheesiest marketing.

I feel like it has way too much empty space which is the problem with a lot of belt designs these days. The WWE UK belt is the first belt I’ve loved in the modern style. I do think it’s a good idea to freshen up the look of the belt and other areas of the product. I like that there’s customization instead of everyone wearing the same belt. I also think the women’s belts should have a different design than the men’s. It would go a long way towards giving the female fighters more personality and marketing them as a different attraction from the men. Hopefully ESPN treats the product better than Fox. I hated the Fox era, felt like you had to watch 45 minutes of commercials for each fight.

I think the personalization is great and a way to make the title mean something to the individual fighters. The addition of red stones per title defense also gives a goal for fighters and talking point leading up to big fights.

It might make defending the belts and fighting more than once every year or two something top fighters aspire to.

That article mentions they've found another UFC fighter they won't name going through a similar situation with the "pulsing". Is this:

A) Another big name they don't want to reveal is a drug cheat?
B) Some guy who had one fight on the undercard of some event no one cared about and was immediately cut?
C) Completely made up to get Jon Jones off the hook?

I lean towards C myself, although some brief internet searching for "UFC + turinabol" tells me that's what Frank Mir popped for as well, so I guess that fighter could be him, if they are pretending he's still a "UFC fighter"...

During Aldo's entrance at tonight's fight night I noticed a man brandishing something... familiar.

Jack Swagger/Jake Hagar's debut in MMA a few days ago was great. Didn't see it mentioned in this thread so I just thought I'd say it.

I said it in the Wrasslin thread in page 217 because I thought nobody knew who he was for MMA nerds. Hey on the bright side, he's no CM Punk and this should be good news for a Lucha Underground Season 5 :optimistic:.

I honestly think he's good enough to be another Lashley with a win-heavy MMA record. And if/when he's done with that and Lucha stuff I could see WWmeme wanting him back again.

Super happy about the Masvidal outcome. Not happy about Jones getting the win. The only round I personally saw Jones win was round 3, other than that, even despite being hurt I believe Santos was outpacing and edging him out. Vegas is a fuckhole to compete in anyway.

Just let them do that green juice Bane uses and really kick the sport up a notch.

Anyone got any predictions for 241?

DC vs Stipe
Pettis vs Diaz
Yoel vs Costa

These are some badass fights, personally I see Diaz winning against Pettis and Yoel against Costa.

The real toss up is the Heavyweight bout though, hopefully we can get through it with minimal eye pokes this time.

What do people think?
