Speaking of World Hide and Seek Champ Jon, just two weeks after retiring he's claimed he's re-entering the testing pool in an effort to horn his way in on the supposed White House card next year. Intellectually I know Dana isn't going to say no if Jon really does want to be on it, but in my heart I wish he'd tell him to fuck right off and use the opportunity of a huge event to try and build a new star instead of giving Jon a final payday. I think the best we can hope for if he does get on the card is for Tom to finally get his chance to knock that niggers head clean off like a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robot.

I saw someone recommend Covington vs McGregor, both are way past their primes and very inactive, it works for both of them Colby gets a final big pay-out in his final fight and McGregor gets a chance to prove he's still got it

Colby was actually very smart with his career. He made fair sums of money for his few PPV headliners, and didn’t squander his money aimlessly. He lives a straight-edge lifestyle, and has numerous sponsors. He has distributed his wealth across stocks and does some real estate a la Al Iaquita in Miami and surrounding. He’s got a ton of passive income coming in and, if he wanted, he could do analyst desk work for the UFC. Doesn’t really need to get punched in the face if he doesn’t want to.

He also used his time as a fighter to really sell his gimmick and network across several different forms of media. He could have sued the shit out of Masvidal for his little gay ass sneak attack in 2022, but opted not to because it would be taking money away from Masvidal’s kids. He didn’t compete for two years while under litigation because there was a restraining order in place, and Masvidal was regularly attending UFC events. Pretty shitty on Masvidal after being given a mercy.

Getting back on topic, I really like the idea of this fight, but it would never be considered. Connor isn’t going to fight again, and Colby will probably job his way down to the prelims at this rate. At most, I could see Pimblett v Covington happen, and why not? They’ve fed Paddy all of the over-the-hill fighters… what’s one more?

But he doesn't. McGregor can't make 145 anymore.

I doubt he could do 155, but even if he could he has the same problem at 155 as he would have at 170: he does not have the power to hang at that weight class. The secret to Conor's success is that he is a dangerous counterpuncher (specifically the pull counter) but as a fighter he never had much else besides his left cross (his wrestling is zero; his grappling is zero).
