Anyone else hate the trend of youtubers uploading clips from livestreams instead of actual produced videos?

I'm not talking people who have a dedicated channel for clips or people who are primarily streamers with a channel for uploading well edited condensed versions of streams, don't really have a problem with those. I mean youtubers who normally do (or did) videos who discovered they can make more superberries from streaming and instead of making videos just lazily upload random clips from their latest stream where they ramble incoherently for 10 minutes. Not only is it lazy and waste of time, it also clogs up my fucking subscription feed with worthless shit.

It's worse when they didn't even bother to capture their own stream without the overlay, so the video itself is cluttered with the worthless spam of chat and sub counters.
No, I don't want to read when CrotchRocket71 wrote "awesome", ":pog:", and "same".
No, I don't care that he also donated 50 bux to play a 15 second clip from his favorite meme compilation.

Thing is, I can't tell if it's because I have an adblocker, a script blocker to stop that fucking "Still watching? We'll pause the video for you" or the extension to return dislikes is doing something, or YouTube is just retarded as always. It's so tiring, I hardly even watch videos and just want to listen to ambience while I work, and the best site to do it is hostile at every possible angle.

Those "you're not connected!" error messages on sites when there's no internet connection can be annoying.

I'm going to disagree with you on this one, I would rather have specific wrror messages stating specific issues, even obvious ones, to a generic 'something went wrong' message that doesn't elaborate further

Have you tried Invidious, Piped, or youtube-dlp? They're all ways to use YouTube without using the god-awful official frontend. Invidious is lightweight but janky, Piped is heavier but less janky, and youtube-dlp is a really nice downloader script. I prefer Invidious myself but you should try them all and see which one fits your situation the best.

You're welcome. Oh, and I forgot about Freetube. I've never used it but I've heard several glowing reviews from other Farmers that it's the best way to watch YouTube on the desktop. Check that one out too if you want to.

There's also youtube.com/embed/[video code] which seems to lack that BS, but there's still stuff ad blockers block -- a lot of stuff -- and it seems that more and more YT vids are going only viewable on YT. Other frontends can work... when not being blocked by YT efforts to take them down, that is (which can easily happen). Current Year YT sucks.

Reminds me of that "ad closed by Google" BS when you try to close an ad on a browser without an ad blocker (like on a "smartphone").

It's like they're rubbing it in your face that you lack control.

I only have the "Return Youtube Dislike" extension and it doesn't cause problems for me. It must be something else.

I've had problems with Youtube not playing videos if I don't let it load for a second first. If I save a video in a tab leave for an hour or two and come back it doesn't load. But if I leave that video and then click on the video again it loads.

Software just seems to be getting shittier and shittier.

Has anyone else noticed that if you aren't in theater mode fir toutube there's a weird blur behind the video player? I'm guessing it's something to use when buffering or some shit but it tanks performance so horribly I just stay in theater mode all the time, even though in some recent update youtube stopped maintaining theater mode, now I need to turn it back on every time I click on a new video

Google Translate got another annoying update. Used to be that with 中文 texts, you could break up a string of characters into a vertical line, and get a literal translation of each character. Now GT still translates the characters as if horizontal. Same goes with other ways of separating them: spaces, periods, dashes: it doesn't work anymore.

Also Google Translate now seems to be more likely to translate mixtures of well-known languages as obscure African languages instead.

Its funny how the trend quietly died down with Kizuna AI back in 2012 and suddenly during COVID to Present, they just explode in popularity and are everywhere. Every obscure imageboard's moderation is taken over by them and they infest just about every god damn website you can find online, including KF, with some bot colony sperging about the same annoying shit 24/7. I am 100% sure the majority of them aren't even real posters.

Then you see some of the popular ones streams that are heavily botted with upwards of 100k viewers and the same accounts donating $10K multiple times a stream. This shit has to be some mafia tier money laundering operation that makes DSP look like a saint.
