Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

I hate general music slop and AI music.
I hate that YouTube, Spotify, and other streaming services are no longer usable for finding anything.

When last.fm died, I used Spotify.
User-generated playlists were relatively good and yielded at least a few songs to check out later.
Then the bot-playing music scam meta started, and it all went to suffocate and die in a big Indian pile of shit.

Used YouTube for a while after that.
Not that great, but with a trained algo account, you could still dig up some interesting stuff.
Then the modern wave of AI came in. At first, it was just images getting swapped out for AI illustrations - I could live with that. People trying to stand out among all the chillout and lo-fi slop channels - sure, whatever, I get it. Content exploded, and it got way harder to find anything decent. Well, at least it still had real songs! Now? AI music - just to make monetization easy.
Aren't you happy? All this beep-boop human music to listen to while working? Powered by Mohan's executive farts. Eco-friendly!

It’s often said that most people use five websites.
I now use two. Kiwi Farms and one more forum. What’s even the point of the Internet?
For music, I've been using Bandcamp for years, as I have always been against Spotify and music streaming in general. Aside from the shitty business practices, I think in some ways it has destroyed music fandom.
I know at least with Bandcamp the majority of what I pay actually goes to the artist. If you don't feel like curating an MP3 collection, you can just stream the music via their app. I've found that it's pretty good for discovering new music. I like how the latest releases page is in chronological order, so every artist gets their new releases in the spotlight, even if only for a few hours. Not because they paid x amount to get up there, or some algorithm placed it there.

For more obscure stuff not on the platform, I check Discogs. If that's not viable, I just use Soulseek.
I know that's not for everyone because people have just gotten used to streaming.

*Type "about:config" in the upper text field/search bar *Find a setting called "xpinstall.signatures.required" *Set that shit to "False"
I was using an older version of FF until recently when the ad-blocker mysteriously deactivated. Trying to reinstall it didn't work (some BS error message), until I did that thing with about:config thing, and then it worked again. But an OS update disabled the entire browser from working, so I gotta use a later version of FF if I want FF. Also I really don't want to use Google Chrome. Nor any other browser with caching that can't be disabled (such is hard on a hard drive and especially hard on a solid state drive).

I switched to the Developer edition after the exact same thing happened a few years ago. I didn't know about any backdoor though, I'll have to look into that. (if it hasn't been patched out already)
I would switch back to version 127 or lower if I were you. Version 128 is where it is introduced and the whole thing is pozzed after that as far as I am concerned. Better safe than sorry.
I use Brave and LibreWolf. I know the drama around the devs with LibreWolf. At the end of the day, i’m not paying for the browser nor am I contributing to it.
What's the story with LibreWolf's devs?
I think this has been mentioned dozens of times but I really hate how most software has a Discord server that you need to go to when you have an issue or inquiry about something. I recently had to join the Discord of a piece of software I use to find if an issue that I'm facing with it (And the Discord was pretty much the only place I could go because it's relatively obscure and the FAQ doesn't mention this problem) was solved by anyone else. Luckily, a solution (by who believe is the creator) was there but why was I forced to join that Discord when the issue and solution could've been brought up anywhere else. There is a damn Github too but there's no issues opened. The Discord is encouraged.
I don't think I can ever use any software that requires me to use discord for technical support. I don't care how useful or efficient it is, I don't support trannies or child groomers, simple as that.

My account was blocked before I could even do anything, and then it asked me for my phone number to unblock it. I noped the fuck out of it. I don't know why people love using software that puts constant barriers to use. Simplicity is gone.

Niggercattle has no standards. Discord users will be the very first in line to get their microchips and eat the delicious grasshopper snacks in grocery stores. This also means that all these pedos that groom kids have their phone numbers and other personal info stored on there, this is why I wish for a hack that takes the whole thing down and leaks all the user info more than anything.

I hate what Discord has turned into with a passion. There were a few private servers that i was apart of. One is a old forum that went defunct in 2011. Another is a personal private discord server with me and several other people.

If i joined a populated server, i see lots of Fag Flags and Furr Fags. If you join a cryoto discord server, you will try to get scammed.

Don’t get me wrong, i really enjoyed Discord before all the bad actors and alphabet weirdos took it over.

Does anyone have experience using stuff like Vencord? Been wanting something to access Discord servers for certain sites that have information locked away on that shit platform, but I don't want spyware installed on my PC as well.

No one can or bothers to think for themselves anymore. Most people need some sort of propaganda pushing algorithm to tell them what video to watch, what music to listen to, what stupid think pieces they should read, what food they should eat, etc...

I guess this sort of thing could be said about TV and modern advertising even before we all had mini computers in our pockets but the fact that almost everyone has constant access to this shit really amplifies the problem.

Modern web is rotting our brains under the guise of convenience.
