Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

Why must every fucking thing shift around so much? Oh right, because nobody knows how to properly design things anymore and current day web design is dogshit. So everyone is off by a few pixels, don't know how to measure, don't know how to properly display a template or just don't know shit in general in how to design. Is it so fucking hard to ask for things to remain center or remain in a way where I don't have to move my cursor around as much because this page shifts or that popup window appears over there.

Also anyone who incorporates drop-down menus can go to hell. They always fuck up.

One of the major banks has silently created a new 2FA policy. Not only must you use 2FA, but the phone number must belong to a phone carrier meeting a secret reputational requirement to be valid source of authentication. Google Voice, nope. VOIP provider, nope. Prepaid cell phone, nope. If you are going to login to your account with such an unacceptable phone number you now must also call customer service and verify your identity to obtain a code.

I'm not going to order a copper landline, nor get a postpaid phone plan just so that I can login without hassle. I am not going to call up some Pajeet every time I need a new login session.

Luckily I was able to login with another computer that still had a valid session that didn't retrigger the 2FA routine and turned off paperless billing.

Fuck it. Just send me a slip of paper in the mail every month telling me how much I owe.
I ran into this new nightmare recently too. Some banks still allow you to select email as a method to send a code for 2fa. It was just turned off on my account and I know I didn't uncheck it myself. I fear a day is coming soon where apps and Google pay/apple wallet will be mandatory for services.

Following the font-size of every website increased to 225%, boomers are to blame for this too. Their eyesight and reflexes are going, going, gone, and they can't perceive anything on the screen. Every element having a pointless 800ms animation will catch their attention just in time for them to actually see it to the detriment of everyone else. They don't care because they're hyper-focused on scrolling 10px/sec, manually, by dragging the scroll bar.

This, with insane paddings and huge images everywhere, because everything has to be mobile-first really pisses me off. It's great that some retard won't fat-finger the wrong button on his phone now, but even on my 4K desktop, I barely get two rows of shit on screen - why?

Does anyone have experience using stuff like Vencord? Been wanting something to access Discord servers for certain sites that have information locked away on that shit platform, but I don't want spyware installed on my PC as well.
Vencord (Vesktop) is as stripped as it'll get

No one can or bothers to think for themselves anymore. Most people need some sort of propaganda pushing algorithm to tell them what video to watch, what music to listen to, what stupid think pieces they should read, what food they should eat, etc...

I guess this sort of thing could be said about TV and modern advertising even before we all had mini computers in our pockets but the fact that almost everyone has constant access to this shit really amplifies the problem.

Modern web is rotting our brains under the guise of convenience.

Haha, so true! I think I'll save this image.

the ride never ends, not even here
This might genuinely make me limit how many images I will even bother opening up/saving. Ironic, I spend most of my time on the internet on some sort of imageboard, and now the very idea of opening one up in another tab, every single time, just to use a browser extension to screencap it in a normal format is just not worth the trouble in most cases. 4chan is dead, 8chan is a shell of it's former self and everything else is gay or dead, not worth the trouble, so I'm stuck in webp hell wherever I go.

>be ToroidalBoat
>look up hourly forecast
>scroll down to day after tomorrow
Someone on /g/ posted a link to this awhile back and it's pretty useful:
I think it's made by a pajeet but it's actually cool because it's a super minimal local weather forecast. Add a "/xxx" to the URL, replaced by your local airport letters (ex. LAX or JFK). I don't use anything else at this point because it quite literally doesn't run on my web browser and every page has screaming news articles about gay bullshit.
Very glad Proton Mail doesn't require a phone number for sign up.
For now. I don't trust them, pic related

How inconvenient do you think they can make the web before it goes too far? I honestly don't know. I don't think a lot of a normalfags actually scan their IDs or do face scan w/ID like some social media requests. Even they think it's intrusive and weird, right?
