Would you kindly just use BasedMods?
I second basedmods, a lot of work has already been done regarding this.
I have a few reservations about basedmods:
- I mentioned the OP is that the site just feels like a dumping ground with no interactivity between the authors and users. The mods I listed such as "No Alphabets" was uploaded from RPGHQ into basedmods and is now hilariously out of date in comparison to the RPGHQ official version. BasedMods' download link dates back to 12 November 2023, which is most likely version 1.0, and RPGHQ's "No Alphabets" mod is now on version 6.2.0.0 with the recent update on 20 April 2025.
- The fact that basedmods is a dumping ground is possibly why some lolicon mods for Hogwarts as @Sho'nuff mentioned passed through without curation. Looks like it's removed however.
- Links to specific mods of basedmods are broken, which makes it harder to share them from different platforms. You have to go to the main page and find the mod you're looking for for the site to work.
Nevertheless, I'll create a list of alternatives to the duopoly that is Nexus Mods and ModDB, which will include basedmods,
@StacticShock's recommendation Modding Haven, and
@blackface enthusiast's recommendation DEG Mods in addition to the aforementioned RPGHQ.
To that end, here's a few contributions:
Added TTYD and the Minecraft music. Links to specific mods of basedmods are broken due to the website's jankiness, so I'm really hesitant to include any basedmods links in the list in addition to the reasons above. I also added GameBanana to the list of alternative modding sites.
There is a Russian website that has mods that have been removed from other websites and mods that are behind a paywall. Its called
https://www.playground.ru/.
Added to the list of alternative modding sites.
No. I read that he won't work with Notch due to "creative differences" after Notch had his big political rant at Mojang and society.
What caused an exodus from RPGcodex? I cursorily lurk there and it still seems plenty tolerant of chud shit, so was there some apolitical drama that caused it or is it political but not yet obvious to outsiders?
I tried finding the reason in RPGCodex but the language that the users use is so sarcastic it's so difficult to decipher what's real or not. From what I've seen, I believe
rusty_shackleford is one of the popular users in the forum but he's gotten into bad blood with the jannies of RPGCodex.
He got banned and then decided to create RPGHQ, with a miniscule population of followers of his joining. I believe he was unbanned from the Codex, but if people refer to him, he will come back. I think one of the funnier autistic moments is the fact that RPGCodex has sent its most undesirable users to RPGHQ to fuck with rusty, and one of those users is an infamous Codex janny that ran to RPGHQ because he got flack for ruining the Codex's site culture:

RPGHQ never gained that much traction until the one of the site's modders released her mod of
Baldur's Gate 3 called "No Alphabets," and soon the forum gained a lot of attention to become self-sustaining.
Just to ask, does Wylls of Torril change his dad too? The other white Wyll mods bugged me as they kept that dude looking like Shaquille O'Neal.
No. The "Better Aesthetics" mod turns his dad into a mulatto rather than fully black, but it's jarring to see him to say the least. I think the "Realms Restored" mod does change his dad (can't confirm) because I saw a conversation between a modder and a user on how the modders are working on an alternative version where Wyll's dad stays black because he is a "based black dad" for abandoning his son.
